Every year on my birthday my parents were scared and I never understood why until my 18th birthday, but we'll get there in just a bit. I should probably introduce myself, my name's Danielle but everyone that's close to me calls me Dani. I'm homeschooled so I don't have that many friends but almost every night I sneak out to take a walk in the woods because that's where I'm the most calm, and that's were my life got turned upside down. It was 1 month before I turned 18 and I was in the woods that night and I was in my head just thinking and I bumped into this guy, he was tall about 5'8 with a muscular build and I'm 5'3 so that's a bit intimidating, he had kinda short hair and he was wearing all black but the thing that caught my eyes was that his shirt as all ripped. His eyes were also glowing a sky blue color even though there wasn't any light which was strange. "I'm so sorry I didn't see you there, are you ok?" I asked him. He just looked at me and shook his head yes. " My name is Danielle, what about you?". " I'm Zane, what are you doing out here it's not safe, not with the full moon out tonight". I just looked at him puzzled, he sighed and said " Look I don't know you and you seem confused so I'm just going to say this but all the rumors and legends that you're told are true, wolves, vampires, and witches or warlocks, whichever you want to call them, if one of them see you or find you they will turn you into one of them, but it only happens on full moons. I look at him in disbelief and I mumble under my breath " So that's why my parents have been keeping me in my room on full moons for the past 6 months and tell me it's for the best." Zane looks at me with shock in his eyes and his mouth hung open," What do you mean they keep you in your room? Do they put anything in there with you, like dog toys, pints of blood, or do they have sage put in the room?" I think for a minute " They usually have only dog toys in there for some reason and I don't understand why this is relevant." He just looks shocked at this point, " That means that you are one of the few people that are born with the abilities, you are a full blood wolf. How old are you because around 5 months before your 18th birthday is when the first transformation tends to happen." I look at him scared " I'll be 18 in about a month and how do you know this." He looks at me and says " I know this because I'm 19 and I'm a full blood too, I'm a wolf just like you," " This is insane,I can't be a full blood I'm just a normal girl!" I start shaking uncontrollably, my ears are ringing from the noise and I can feel my eyes changing colors somehow. " What's happening to me Zane I can't control my body and I can hear basically everything?" " It's your first transformation, you need to calm down, just focus on the sound of my voice and look into my eyes, alright." I start to focus on my breathing and I listen to his voice and I stare into his eyes and somehow that kept me grounded even though I went through the transformation, I was still looking at him and he took off the jacket he was wearing and wrapped it around me, I started to return to my human form after what felt like 3 hours and I was laying down with only his jacket covering my body. " Where are my clothes, what happened to them?" He looked at me and just chuckled, " You know for someone who's heard about this world you sure are clueless, when we transform our clothes disappear for some reason, that's why I gave you my jacket so you would feel a bit better when you returned to yourself." I looked at him with so much fear and appreciation " Thank you for helping me through it and not just leaving me." He just smiled at me " Of course us wolves have to look out after each other and not to mention you are pretty cute" He blushes and turns his face so I wouldn't see it. For some reason he looks familiar and I'm not sure why.
