Three months later...

"We really do have way too many clothes for the baby." I groaned, dumping the third load of baby clothes into the washing machine.

I had already poured the softener and detergent into the compartments they needed to go, and turned the machine on.

"I'm tired of folding laundry and hanging clothes!" Dino groaned, letting his body flop backwards into the floor. "Why isn't Romeo helping?"

I placed my hands on my hips. "Romeo did help, but now he's busy finishing up the scrapbook downstairs. He needs to focus on making the scrapbook cute for baby Lucca to see in the future."

Dino pouted, then looked around the room. "I can't believe we're gonna have the baby in less than a month. Just three more weeks."

"Me either." I looked at the crib, and smiled. "Let's take a break. I wanna see how Romeo's doing."

Dino and I went downstairs and found Romeo at the dining table with the scrapbook open. Different supplies laid around on the table in a mess, but Romeo looked so cute with the pout he wore as he focused.

"Romeo..." I called for my quietest lover.

He looked up and smiled when he spotted us. "I was just about to call you guys."

"Did you need help with something?" Dino asked after kissing his head.

"Yeah, I need you guys to write a short note again."

We sat down on either side of Romeo and he handed us a post-it sized piece of white paper. I picked up the black pen, but then turned to Romeo in question.

"What do we write?"

"Anything. How excited you are that we're getting closer to the due date, or how much of a mess the room is because we're doing laundry, or even how you've stubbed your toe seven times on the crib when you're walking by it. Anything." Romeo chuckled when I stared at him. "Write whatever you want."

I nodded and used the pen to begin writing.

Hi, baby Lucca, it's your Dad, Lucio. We've only got about three weeks left until you're born, and I can't stop thinking about you. Your papa, Romeo, picked your name for you before you were ever even made in the lab. Just like your uncles and I, you were a science project, but it's ok. You're just that much of a cooler baby. Well, technically, you were genetically altered and then implanted into the surrogate we picked. She's a lovely woman and maybe you'll get to meet her someday. Anyway, I'm running out of room, but we all really can't wait to meet you.

Love, Dad

"Here."

Romeo thanked me and I watched him use double-sided tape to stick the notes beside the sonogram. "I'll have to go to the store later to buy more tape and supplies."

"Go when I start making dinner." Dino suggested, so Romeo agreed.

We sat with Romeo for a while. He used stickers and pens to decorate the page. We helped him decorate as well and surprisingly, Romeo was picky when it came to placing different stickers in different areas. He would draw little animals and figures, and I thought it was the cutest.

"For our next baby, do you want to make a scrapbook, too?" I questioned, and Romeo nodded.

"Yes. However many kids we have, I want to make each of them a scrapbook. Different colors for each baby, too." Romeo set the empty roll of tape to the side and whined. "I ran out of tape."

"Finish it later." Dino slid the scrapbook to the side. "How many babies do you want, Romeo?"

Romeo hummed for a few seconds. "Two for sure. But maybe three if you guys want to use your baby names, too."

"So Lucca's color is blue, what would the next one be?" I asked, facing Romeo so my knees were touching the side of his left thigh.

"Mm, green." He responded with a nod.

"And if we have a third baby? What color would theirs be?" Dino questioned.

"Then...their color would be red."

"We'll need to get scrapbooks in those colors."

"Yes, but I'll decorate them so they can be perfect." Romeo sighed with a small smile. "I think baby Lucca will like his scrapbook."

"We think so, too. You've done a good job, baby." Dino leaned in to kiss Romeo and the latter whimpered happily.

"Let's go cuddle on the couch before Dino starts making dinner." I patted Romeo's knee.

We got up from the dining table and moved over to the couch. Dino turned the tv on and I was snuggled up between my two lovers.

"Dami told me Andrea was coming into town once the baby was born to see him."

"What? No." I shook my head, glaring as I responded to Romeo, but he knew it wasn't directed towards him. "I don't want him anywhere near the baby."

"Lucio, when are you gonna forgive him?" Romeo stared down at me. "I forgave him and although I still hold resentment for what he did to me, I still forgave him even though it's not something I can just forget about. It's been a year since I did so and you still haven't. It makes me happy you were and still are angry for me, but you need to let that anger go."

I scoffed at that, rolling my eyes. "Well, I'm not going to act buddy-buddy with him if that's what you want."

Romeo shook his head. "That's not what I mean, Lucio. Your relationship with him will never be the same. Even when he does come to visit our family, I can still feel the tension, but at least I've forgiven him. I wanted to move on and I think you should, too. I want you to."

I stared up at Romeo and he smiled softly. He cupped my face and kissed my forehead. "Can you do it for me?"

I thought about it for a few seconds, then slowly nodded. "I'll try my best, but I'll do it for you 'cause I love you."

Romeo smiled, his cheeks softly reddening. "Thank you. I love you, too." He pecked my lips and I smiled.

"Wow, I feel like I'm third wheeling."

I turned to my left and pinched Dino's right cheek. "You know we love you."

"Yes, I know. I love you guys, too." Dino pecked our lips, and pressed play on the movie. "Now, let's watch this movie."

I let my head fall on his shoulder and held onto Romeo's arm.

The movie was about some teens planning and filming a huge high school party which ended up getting out of hand. They even ended up on the news, but to the teens, it was worth it. The movie was about an hour and a half, so once the movie was over, Dino started on dinner.

"I'm heading to the craft store to get the supplies." Romeo got up and grabbed the keys off the counter.

I went up to him and pecked his lips, hugging him tightly. "Drive safe, ok? Don't take too long."

Dino came up behind me and I moved to the side so he could kiss Romeo. "Be safe, Romeo."

"Yeah, don't worry. The store's only about twenty minutes away." Romeo waved, and Dino and I told him we loved him as he reached the front door.

Before he stepped out, he smiled. "I love you guys, too. Let's finish doing laundry once we're done with dinner."

"No!"

Romeo laughed at Dino as he closed the door, and I raised a brow. "Hear that? Even Romeo said we should finish doing laundry, so we have to do it now."

"Fine." Dino groaned and I patted his back, following him to the kitchen.

"What're we eating tonight?"

"I was thinking of Romeo's favorite. Beef noodle casserole."

I hummed, licking my lips. "That's a good dish. Romeo will be excited."

"I didn't tell him I was going to make it, so it'll be a little surprise for him."

I sat at the counter and decided to watch Dino make dinner, which he grumbled about.

An hour had passed and I checked my phone to see if Romeo messaged me to let me know if there was traffic, which he usually did, but there was no message or missed call.

"Romeo's food is going to get cold." Dino frowned.

"I'm surprised you didn't decide to get a little taste. You're nice enough to wait for all of us to be seated, but not nice enough to not eat one or two spoonfuls." I set my phone down on the table, chuckling when Dino looked away guiltily.

"Well, I'm deciding to be nice today, so..."

"How sweet of you." I cooed and patted Dino's right hand sarcastically.

My phone began to ring and I saw it was Romeo, so I picked up. "Romeo, your food's going to—"

"L-Lucio..."

My brows furrowed. "Romeo, what's wrong?"

"Someone...crashed i-into me." Romeo coughed and whined.

There was yelling in the back.

I got up and pulled on Dino's hand, grabbing the other set of keys. "Romeo, where are you?!"

"Lucio, what happened?" Dino asked, following me out of the house and taking the keys from me.

"R-Romeo got into a car accident." I covered my mouth. "Romeo, where are you? Are there people there?"

"Y-Yes, but...Luci, it hurts..."

My heart began to pick up, and I got a sudden feeling of dread. "What hurts, Romeo? Just breathe, ok? We're o-on our way, baby, I promise."

"Lucio...I-I love you. I love D-Dino, too. I-I love you both so much."

"Romeo, d-don't say that." Tears welled up in my eyes. I put the phone on speaker and told Dino where to head as I tracked the location of Romeo's phone.

We rushed the guard working the gate, and I signaled to him to call my parents and track my location.

"Romeo, we're on our way, ok? We're ten minutes away."

"L...Lucio...D-Dino..." Romeo quietly mumbled.

"Hey, keep your eyes open, buddy. The ambulance is on the way, ok? Just don't move." I heard a woman's voice in the back.

"Lucio...Dino...I love you two so much. I-I love our...family so much, too..."

"Romeo, stay awake! Dino, god damnit, drive faster!" I clutched onto the front of my shirt.

"Hey, Romeo...we're almost there, ok?" Dino yelled. His breathing had picked up, and he was driving dangerously fast past cars.

"I...I wanna hear...you guys say that you love me, too..." Romeo sounded weaker.

"Romeo, I love you so much, Romeo. I-I promise you'll be fine. I love you so much, Romeo."

"I love you, baby! Romeo, we're almost there, ok? I love you so, so, so much. We love you so much, Romeo. Stay awake for us, ok? We're just two more minutes out." Dino turned a corner, but then we came to a stop.

There were cars stopped, and I checked Romeo's location. He was just up ahead.

"We're heading to you right now, Romeo. You're going to be ok. I hear the ambulance." I swallowed down the lump and got out of the car just as Dino did.

We began running and after a few moments, I saw the smaller car Romeo had taken, seeing a second car off to the side.

My heart pounded loudly in my ears and I put my phone away as I walked up to Romeo's car. My eyes widened just as we reached the driver's side and I let out a choked sob.

"Look, the ambulance is right there. See? They're here to help you, bud. You'll feel better soon." The lady brushed Romeo's hair to the side.

"R-Romeo...?" I walked up behind her, and she looked back at me.

Romeo weakly lifted his head up, and he smiled softly. "I-I...get to see you guys...one last time..." Dino froze beside me, Romeo looking down at his chest. "I...hoped you guys...wouldn't see this..."

There was a metal pole sticking through the windshield, which had pierced through the right side of Romeo's chest. He was bleeding so much, and his face was so pale. His lips were turning blue.

"Romeo..." I took a step forward, and the lady finally moved once she realized the situation.

"You're g-going to be ok, Romeo." Dino was about to reach through the window, but Romeo shook his head with a weak smile.

"I won't...be getting out of this one, Dino."

I shook my head, tears freely rolling down my cheeks. "Romeo, I love you. I l-love you so much, R-Romeo."

"I l-love you so m-much too, Lucio. Thank you...for loving me..."

"No, don't say that!" Dino shook his head, opening the car door. "You're getting help, and you're coming home once you're—"

"I...I love you, Dino. I love you...so much..." Romeo slowly blinked. "Thank you for loving me...too..."

"Fuck..." Dino tugged at his hair. "I love you...so fucking much, Romeo. I love you, Romeo. You know we love you, right? You were the best thing that ever happened to us. We love you so much, baby. Our parents love you so much and—"

There was running coming from up ahead and I turned to see three paramedics along with two police officers. "Get them out of the way. Now!"

"No!" I tried to push them away, but Dino was grabbed along with me.

"I love you guys, ok?"

I caught the bigger, more wide smile from Romeo. His hazel eyes were so gentle, and I cried out.

"Romeo! N-No, Romeo!" I fought against the one man pushing me and holding me back.

"Get the fuck off of me!"

I cried out as Dino punched the officer down, and ran to the car.

"Hey!" Dino was tackled down just mere seconds later and he attempted to fight against the cops, but he was pinned down.

I closed my eyes and shook my head, wishing this was all just a horrible nightmare.

"Lucio, baby, what happened?!"

I turned around and ran up to Dad, crying as I pointed at the car.

"Romeo, he..." I froze when one of the women stepped back from the car, her head turning to the man on her left as she shook her head.

I fell to my knees and sobbed, hugging myself as I shook my head. I cried for Romeo, praying to whoever was in higher power to keep Romeo alive. Praying for someone, anyone, to tell me it was all just a big joke. That any second now Romeo was going to get out of the car and tell me it was just a joke, and that we'd go back home to eat his favorite dish.

But that never happened.

"Romeo...Romeo, I-I'm so sorry, Romeo..." I sobbed, feeling arms wrap around me, but I continued to shake my head in denial. "Shit, I-I love you, baby. I love you s-so, so fucking much.

"I-I'm so sorry, Lucio." Papa cried behind me, his hand rubbing my head.

"What, no? H-He's not dead! Tell me you're lying!" Dad yelled above me, at the pair of feet belonging to another police officer.

"I'm very sorry, Sir."

I looked up at the man, and saw him holding his hat to his chest. He looked down at me, and gave me a short nod before walking away.

Dad fell to his knees beside me and he cried out into his hands. I looked up ahead and the red and blue lights were the only lights lighting up the scene. Firemen walked near Romeo's car, and everything went silent. There was ringing in my ears as I stared at the car, seeing the slumped over silhouette through the back window.

My chest rose and fell rapidly, and I could barely hear Dad's and Papa's voices. I couldn't understand what they were saying, but my eyes were moved away from the car as I began to look for Dino.

I needed him in my view. I needed him right next to me, or else he'd probably be gone forever. But I couldn't see well because tears continued to roll out of my eyes uncontrollably.

My body suddenly jolted and I finally could understand the voices talking behind me. "Lucio, breathe, baby. Please s-slow your breathing."

"I c-can't...breathe."

I coughed and placed my right hand on my chest, noticing how tingly and numb my fingers felt. My body was shaking and I tried my best to calm down and breathe, but I couldn't. I felt like I was going to die. But at this point I didn't care. I don't think I could live without Romeo.

My body grew faint, and I let my body fall to the floor.

"Lucio!" Dad cried, shaking my shoulder but I couldn't focus on him.

All I could hear and feel was my heart pounding and the coldness from the floor as the vision around my eyes began to grow spotty.

"Help!"
