Chapter 15 - Choices

Henrie was paralyzed by those pictures. He couldn't understand how it got on Lucy's cell phone. For a few seconds he thought about all the guilt he could have been at seeing that, but he didn't feel it about him, but about Tod. "How would he react to all this happening? Is it something he could accept?" His mind couldn't think about it, but he couldn't help asking:

"Where did you get that?" He asked, looking at her with a fear in his eyes.

"Did I get it? Do you think that the two of you kissing in middle of school room nobody would see? Don't be misunderstood..."

Henrie heard each word like a sting in the chest. He couldn't ignore that, she was right about everything, but how harm would it do for them to kissing in the room?

"Does Tod know that?" He asked.

"Why? Do you think he would be disgusted?" She insinuated with a completely evil look.

"Not really... I don't know, and what do you intend to do?"

"Well...Thinking about it..." She insinuated. "I just want one thing so that no one will know.

"And what would it be?" He asked fearing the answer.

"You know what I want Henrie..." she said approaching him and placing her hand on his shoulder and bringing her face close to his ear and whispering: "I want you..."

Henrie felt his entire body shudder at those words. He had no intentions of making it happen again, but he wouldn't know how Tod would react to all that news. In his mind he only thought about protecting Tod from everything and everyone and he couldn't bear to see him sad or something. He couldn't contain it and just replied:

"Are you going to leave him alone and away from it all if I do what you're asking?" He asked with teary eyes.

Lucy gave a cute little laugh, but it was possible to feel the evil in her:

"Certainly! Rest assured that I will not do anything for your "boyfriend" ... She said with a disgusting tone when pronouncing the word.

Henrie couldn't express what he was really feeling. He was so angry with her that he couldn't think of anything else. His mind was now flooded with various feelings. He tried to focus his mind on Tod, and how he would be with it, but he couldn't get a clear answer and just focused on holding back his tears so as not to cry in front of her.

"So, it's all right... I will give you two days to end this "relationship". She explained with the same intonation of disgust and leaving shortly thereafter.

Henrie couldn't imagine that this was really happening. Now His eyes were barely contained with such anger. He wanted to cry, but he couldn't do it out of nowhere or he would get a lot of attention. He tried to focus his mind again on Tod, and all the moments they spent together. A silly smile broke out on his face, but it didn't take long and the memories changed with Tod crying and screaming if he told everything that had happened. He tried to clear his mind and not think about it, but when he turned Tod was standing staring at him from a distance.

It didn't take long and he was already at Henrie's side with a different look, as if he had guessed everything that had happened. His breathing was heavy and his face all closed, until he approached Henrie with a harsh tone:

"What she wanted?"

Henrie tried to talk out, but he was too nervous to get it and he couldn't stop himself from stammering:

"Yeah... Actually... She wants to take some things from them that are still with me." He finished scratching his head lightly with his whole body surrendered to that lie.

Tod didn't seem to care much, at least it didn't show Henrie that, but inside he knew there was something strange about that conversation.

Henrie stared at him and couldn't understand whether or not he believed that story, but he didn't seem to care so much, since it would take him a few days to think about what he would do about their relationship. They then went home, but didn't say a word.

The next day Tod was still thinking about the conversation between Henrie and Lucy and continued on until he got to the classroom. He sat down quickly next to Fred, who was fiddling with his cell phone and didn't even notice his presence. He then snorted and looked to Fred who still remained inert. No happy with that, he approached and put his hand in front of the screen of Fred's cell phone that ended up startling and looking at him quickly muttering:

"EEEE..." He looked at Tod. "Tod! What happened? And what face is that?"

Tod rolled his eyes and couldn't help being rude:

"You know what is it? Actually "who" is..."

"What has this kid done, huh?" Fred asked already getting up. "I'm going to beat him up there..."

Tod looked at that and just gave a loose laugh and snorted shortly afterwards letting out one:

"as if..."

"Hey! Don't talk to your friend like that." Fred replied and sitting down. "But what did he do to you?"

"Actually nothing, and that's the problem..."

"As well?" Fred asked without understanding anything.

"It's just that he's hiding something from me... Lucy looked for him and soon after that he changed completely..." He replied looking at nothing as if he were up to something.

"Hmmm... I don't like that face at all." Fred said looking at the door of the room when he saw the professor entering.

They two then remained silent and thus remined the first whole class, which by the way, was completely exhausting, but Tod was so focused on his thoughts that he did not get carried away, and so he continued for all the other classes, including the break.

"Tod!... Tod.... TOOOOOD" Fred screamed sitting across from him at the cafeteria table. "Aren't you going to eat anything? Today there is pudding!" He finished with a huge smile on his face.

Tod just looked at him, but didn't answer. He then looked away from the table that Henrie always sat at, but didn't find him. He then searched everywhere in the cafeteria to see if he couldn't find it and he also got nothing. He took a deep breath and looked at Fred again.

"What is it that you were talking about?"

Fred just stared at him with his mouth full of food and shook his head. Tod, in turn, stared out the window at the school garden until he felt warm air close to his ear and before he could react, he heard:

"Can I sit here, with you?"

Tod's body shook completely and his heart beat faster. It was him. Tod turned so fast that the noses met first because of the proximity. None of them got scared just looked at each other. They were breathing hard, one on top of the other and their hearts racing. They couldn't deny that sensation and continued on for several minutes, until Tod regained consciousness and walked away to Henrie sit:

"Help yourself!" He answered.

Henrie noticed that and just sat down without saying anything to him and asked Fred:

"Is that pudding?"

Fred's eyes lit up because someone finally noticed it and started chattering:

"Yes! They were distributing today and said that every week will be a special pudding day. Isn't amazing?!"

They continued talking about the school meals until Tod got up and left, leaving the two without saying anything. Fred followed him with eyes, but didn't move to go after him. Henrie in turn stood up, but was stopped by Fred who took him by the arm and saying:

"No!... He needs time for him! Trust me, I know him very well!"

Henrie nodded with those words, sat down and continued to eat without saying another word. The last classes were as quiet as possible, neither Fred nor Tod spoke, and remained so until it was time to leave. They left without saying goodbye.

Tod's mind was boiling over with all that happening and he couldn't understand how something so insignificant for the world to him would be the biggest in the world. He couldn't understand how jealousy could be such a powerful and annoying thing. His anger was done and he needed to somehow extract it and as soon as he got home, he just took out his cell phone and opened Henrie's conversation and typed:

"We need to talk urgently!"
