Caught (Monster Falls AU)
Dipper sighed as he pulled the wagon with his half fish sister in it. "I don't see why you need to swim I'm the lake. Grunkle Stan bought, like, a bazillion kiddie pools for you."
Mabel shrugged. "I need more room to swim around in. And who knows, I might meet a hot merman while I'm down there."
Dipper rolled his eyes at him with a small smirk. "Okay, just hurry up." He grabbed the edge of the wagon and tipped her into the lake. "Hey!" She yelled with a laugh. I laughed along with her. She resurfaced and spit water at Dipper. "Hey!" He said, shaking himself dry. "You don't have to deal with wet fur."
Mabel smiled and swam farther out to the middle of the lake. She waved to fish and the sea monster that lived at the bottom of the lake. They'd become pretty good friends, at least, that is, after he tried to eat her.
Dipper settled himself on the dock, folding his deer legs under himself. He was still trying to get used to the feeling of having to do this. He reached into his vest pocket and brought out a handful of grass to munch on. This also took some getting used to, but he hated to eat in front of everyone else, because they all laughed at how "adorable" he looked.
Something on the far side of the lake caught his eye. He squinted and held up his hand to shield his eyes. It was a boat. It wouldn't be that weird, except that it was the only one, it was the size of a yacht, and the rest of the townspeople wouldn't be out on the boat, because it was outlawed because of a good number of townspeople now living in the lake.
Dipper skimmed the water for Mabel. She didn't seem to notice the boat coming near her. Dipper's heart leapt when he noticed it was a fishing boat. "Mabel!" He yelled with a bleat. She was too far away to hear him. Dipper lept to his feet, forgetting about his deer hooves. They wobbled under him abe he crashed into the water.
Gasping for breath, Dipper grabbed the edge of the dock and tried to heave himself up, his deer half seeming even heavier than usual.
As for Mabel, she was still swimming happily. Dipper's faint bleat had made it's way too late to her fine tuned ears. She resurfaced and saw her brother who had fallen into the lake. She rolled her eyes at him. "Always the hero." She started to swim over to help him when her tail was suddenly jerked back and something wrapped up her torso. "Hey, what the... help!" She screamed, seeing a hook in her delicate mermaid tail. The water was turning red from the blood coming out of the wound.
Dipper heard his sister's scream and tried even harder to pull himself up, his deer legs not making it any easier. Someone suddenly grabbed him by the arms and pulled him up. "Hey, man, are you okay?"
Dipper was still coughing up water when he pointed towards the lake and looked up at Wendy. "Mabel..." he got between his coughs.
The werewolf nodded. "Stay here," she said. Then with that, she dived in the water to find her mermaid friend.
Mabel was yanked onto the ship and came face to face with a man with a blond hair and an eyepatch. He smiled coldly at her. "Hey there, Shooting Star. Everything going swimmingly?" He crackled with insane laughter.
Mabel tried to free her arms from the net that was wrapped them to her torso. "Bill," Mabel says through gritted teeth. "Let me go!"
Bill laughed again. "Sorry, kid, but I've got other plans for you."
"W-what do you mean?" Mabel asked, her voice shaking.
"You and your brother have been getting I'm my way too much. It's time I fixed that."
"Not if I can help it!" Said a voice from behind.
Mabel's face broke into a smile, then in a grimace as she moved her impaled tail.
Wendy growled at Bill. "Let her go, you one-eyed weirdo!"
Bill laughed. "You're brave, but you're nothing compared to me."
Wendy glanced down at Mabel's tail, which had a hook in it and there was blood pouring from it. "You'll kill her!"
Bill shrugged. "Oh, that? Eh, she'll be fine."
Wendy narrowed her eyes and growled again. "Not with you she's not."
Bill smirked. "No, of course not."
He grabbed Mabel from under the arms and pulled her back. She struggled feebly, but the loss of blood was making her weak.
Wendy growled at him. She scratched at him, but he avoided her razor sharp claws. "Missed me!" He taunted, dropping Mabel on the deck.
Dipper, standing on the deck still, felt absolutely helpless. Suddenly, there was a hiss from behind him. He jumped out of the way just in time to see a small vampire fly past him. Not now! Dipper begged.
The little vampire crawled out of the lake. "Finally, I've got you this time, Dipper Pines!"
"Gideon, you couldn't have picked a worse time!" Dipper protested. "Mabel's-"
Gideon didn't let him finish and lunged at the deer child. Dipper tried to duck, but he got him anyway. Both vampire and deer went tumbling into the sand. "Mabel's in-"
Gideon's claws raked Dipper's flank, causing for him to yelp in pain. "Get off me!" Dipper yelled. He tried to stand, but Gideon jumped onto his back. His human back. He clawed at Dipper's vest tearing it. Dipper grabbed the vampire's arms and tried to fling him off his back. "Mabel's in trouble!" Dipper shouted.
The vampire's teeth were getting closer to the cervitaur's neck. Dipper desperately shoved at him, but Gideon's claws stung like poison. His vision was getting blurry and sharp teeth bit into the soft flesh of his neck. Everything slowly went black.
On the boat, Wendy and Bill were locked in combat. Wendy was using her claws and teeth, but the hunter didn't seem to notice. The only way she could save Mabel was to knock this guy out.
Mabel was trying to work the hook out of her tail. If she got to the water, she'd be okay, but the sun was hot and she felt the water evaporating off her skin. She desperately world the hook out of her tail, sending tears to her eyes. With one last effort, the hook came clean and the wound was fully open. Mabel began to scoot to the end of the boat, though the loss of blood was making her weak. She made it to the side and tried to heave herself up, but couldn't find the strength. So this is how I die? Pitiful...
Back on the beach, there was a stone of a man flying above, searching for the kids. "Their gonna get in trouble one of these days," he muttered to himself.
He glanced down at the beach and was the distinctive flank of his nephew. He swooped down just as he cried out in pain. Then Stan noticed the vampire on his back. He went faster. The little twerp was killing Dipper!
Stan landed on the beach and grabbed Gideon by the throat. "What are you doing, you twerp!?" He screamed at the vampire.
"I can't help it!" Gideon squeaked. "Since I've had Dipper's blood, the vampire part of my mind only wants his! I need to eat something!"
The gargoyle gritted his teeth, drew back his arm, and chucked the vampire into the forest. "And never come back!" He yelled.
He turned towards Dipper. Gideon hadn't gotten a lot of blood, but enough to knock Dipper out. Stan checked Dipper's pulse and knew he'd have to take him to the hospital.
But where was Mabel? They'd been gone for a while. Maybe she was still swimming. But why didn't she come to Dipper's aid?
With one last glance at Dipper, he flew out over the water in search of his niece. "Mabel!" He yelled. "It's time to go!"
That's when he spotted a ship. That's weird, Stan thought. Looks like a fishing boat. He swooped down to get a closer look. He spotted Wendy fighting with a tall, blond man that had to be Bill and,as he landed, found Mabel.
"Mabel!" He gasped. He ran over to her, staring at her tail in horror. There was too much blood.
"Help...me..." Mabel gasped. "Please..."
Stan scooped Mabel up and tossed her into the water. Then he turned to Bill and Wendy. He stomped over and grabbed him by the throat. "You're gonna pay for that." He threw him across the ship as hard as he could.
"Nice one, Mr. Pines," Wendy said with a smirk.
Mabel could feel the water mending the tear in her tail. She sighed with relief. When she was satisfied, she resurfaced. Grunkle Stan was looking down at her from the ship. "Go check on your brother!" He yelled.
"Why?" Mabel asked. "What happened to him?"
"He had a scuffle with Gideon!" Stan yelled.
She swallowed and swam as fast as she could to shore. "Hang in there, Dip!" She muttered.
Dipper was still out cold. There was blood running from the wounds on his neck and flank. "Dipper?" She said, trying to stay calm. He didn't stir. "Dipper!" She splashed him with water desperately.
Dipper shot up with a gasp, closely followed by a groan. "M-Mabel, are you okay?"
She nodded "I'm more concerned about you."
"'S just a scratch," he said wearily.
Mabel pulled herself onto the sand, pulling the bazillion ton tail after her. "Look, I'm fine," she said with a smile. "But Stan told me that Gideon and you had a fight. How much did he get?"
Dipper sighed. "More than the first, I can tell you that. I feel really dizzy."
"We'd better get you home," Mabel said. "Or to the hospital."
Dipper groaned. "I'm fine." He tried to stand up, but hissed in pain when he moved his deer half. "Are his claws poisonous?"
Mabel shrugged. "Don't worry Dip, everything will be okay. Grunkle Stan will be here in a few minutes and you're not gonna die!"
Dipper smiled despite the pain. "I'll be okay, Mabes. I've been scratched by Gideon plenty of times."
"But not that deep!" Mabel said. "And he bite you!"
"Don't worry," said a voice behind her. "We're back to save the day."
"Wendy! Stan!" Mabel exclaimed looking up. Stan was carrying Wendy in her claws. He dropped her on the beach and she landed feet first. She came over to Dipper. "You okay man? Woah! That's a lot of blood!"
Dipper's vision was getting fuzzy again. "Stan, I think I need some serious medical help!"
Stan picked up his half deer nephew who winced in pain. "Wendy," Stan said. "Take Mabel home and get back to work."
"Yes sir," Wendy said with a smile. She refilled the wagon with fresh water and carefully put Mabel in.
"I'll call you when I get the result," Stan said, glancing at Dipper, who was fighting to stay conscious.
Mabel leaned over and ruffled Dipper's hair affectionately. "Hang in there, Dipping Sauce."
