Chapter 24: Disgust

Putting his pants back on, painting a huge grin on his face couldn't be more of a huge success, and looking at Therrie on the bed somehow satisfied him. Very well.

"See you in the morning," the staff said, winking at her.

It just turned midnight and the fact that Therrie was disgusted about what did that person did to him slowly vanished because this is the day for her to lose to feel disgusted about the act he did. Therrie just pulled the comforter and covered herself, turned her body to face the wall, and stare at it for a few minutes.

Did I really mean it to happen? Do I want him? Somehow I wanted it, he gave it to me, and when I feel disgusted at the end of it, I couldn't feel it anymore... I maybe gave him consent after all.

Therrie's thought has been flying around, trying to criticize her own behavior. She was able to sleep it by three and woke up in the morning feeling unfazed, maybe that's the consequence of losing something she shouldn't have.

The aftermath of the fire yesterday still terrifies everyone that somehow it might happen again. But Therrie wasn't worried that it might happen again, but if the fire weren't able to be put down immediately yesterday, they would have to go move to another facility and it'll be a challenge for all of them as to how they're gonna cope up with these changes.

But good thing for her, that didn't happen.

But one thing she wasn't sure about was the thing that happened yesterday. She could barely remember what happened yesterday, but the thing she felt was something was wrong with her so, at that point, Therrie got up from her bed and find her way to the doctor's room.

Fortunate for her, no one's around checking in the hallway. Agad naman itong kumatok pinto ng office. Expecting Doctor Carmona would greet her, but as soon as the door opened, it was someone she was not familiar with.

Nakangiti naman nitong binati Therrie. "Good morning. What can I do for you? Are you looking for someone else?" sunod-sunod na tanong nito.

The lady in front of her is waiting for an answer. Therrie swallowed saliva down her dry throat. "Ah... where's Doctor Carmona?"

Tumalikod ang babaeng kausap ni Therrie at may tinawag ito sa loob. Saglit lamang ay may lumapit at nakita naman ni Therrie na si Doctor Carmona na iyon.

"This is a surprise visit," pagbati ni Doctor Carmona. Nakangiti pa ito nang kitain ang dalaga.

"Is she the Therrie Tenorio, doc?" the lady asked and the doctor agreed to the question. "Oh, this might be a good thing to have her around. Why doesn't she join us?"

Lumingon silang dalawa sa akin. "Would you like to join us, Therrie?" Doctor Carmona asked.

Therrie gave a nod to both of them. Nang imbitahan papasok sa loob ng office ay doon lang nakita ni Therrie kung anong nangyayari. Who was inside the office are the board of directors. Therrie saw Doctor Rivera who is also present in this kind of meeting. The doctor guided her to where she could comfortably sit while they were all looking at her-basically, examining—judging her with only discriminating looks.

She timidly sat, figuring out what was happening around and the doctor briefly explained to her what was happening. With the incident that happened yesterday, the board of directors agreed to have a meeting to talk and run through the things inside the facility. They were still in the middle of a discussion when Therrie barged in so they let her join them to sit in and continue with the ongoing meeting. It was intimidating at first, but Therrie made herself feel invited.

Nakikinig lang si Therrie. She barely sees these faces around. Ang madalas niya lang namang makita ay ang mga doctor and she doesn't know if these people really cared about the people inside this building or to they just believe what could help them and their reputation, that's all they are worried about. Therrie believed that this facility doesn't really care about its patients.

They let Bianca die by herself and a person wouldn't die if it wasn't for someone who pulled the trigger to it. Therrie believed the doctors did it. They pulled the trigger.

"Therrie?" Napatingin ang dalaga sa lalaking tumawag sa kanya. "Therrie Tenorio? I am calling your name right, right?" Tumango naman ito sa tanong ng lalaki. "How long have you been here?"

"Three months," she answered directly. Walang paligoy-ligoy.

"And you came back how long?"

"I'm not sure... maybe a week or two."

"Therrie," tinawag naman siya no'ng babaeng nagbukas ng pinto sa kanya. "You know what? When we've heard about your unique condition, we're invested to know what would happen next. If we could all agree, we'll be able to help you figure your situation out if we put more budget on this case so there will be more discoveries to turn into. Right, everyone?" She turned to look at everyone to get their opinion and almost every one of them agreed to it. "There you go! Maybe, you don't have to stay in this facility for six months, and maybe sooner, you could get the life you wanted. If that is if you willing to volunteer yourself—but as if you have the option to do that in here, but just cooperate with the doctors."

Nilingon ng lahat sina Doctor Carmona at Doctor Rivera.

"Yes, we're trying our best to help Therrie," ani Doctor Carmona.

"Can I say something?" Therrie said, raising her hand.

"Of course, you can!" the lady said, giving her permission. "What do you want to say? Are you excited about what will happen?"

"Oh..." she muttered. "It's not exactly what I had in mind. I just want to say something about one staff you have here..." she started and all are listening intently to what she was about to say. Hindi na niya ito pinag-isipan pa. She just wants to speak it out loud so these people would know that there's something wrong inside this facility. "One of the male staff did something bad to me... like raped me."

Every one of them gasped from her confession. Ang iba ay naguluhan pero si Doctor Carmona ay nanliit ang mata. Wanted to believe what she was saying, but Therrie could be lying as well. She knows that Therrie has a history of lying to people so this isn't unusual for her.

"How true is that, Therrie?" the lady asked.

"He came into my room last night and he went straight doing what he intends to do."

"That's a strong accusation, Therrie," Doctor Carmona said. "You know, we found out that you've taken pills yesterday. One of the staff saw you and the other person who owns the pills. It was already confiscated and when the staff checked the rooms yesterday, they've found you hallucinating so I don't think what you're saying is true."

"And you don't feel disgusted about if it's true?" the lady asked, she was horrified.

The doctor knew what that means already, but if she will point that out, it'll be against her own words.

"I think it's time for Therrie to leave the room," Doctor Carmona said. "She must've missed taking her medication today."

"Well, that's true," she honestly said. "But I'm not lying. One more thing, I believe the doctors you have here are the ones who should be responsible for Bianca's death. They killed Bianca."

"What?!" Doctor Carmona wailed. "No! We didn't kill her, but we're responsible for not helping her out of it. We did try our best to help her, but we didn't kill her, Therrie. I think you should know that. We're here to help and killing our patients isn't in our book. That's against our oath. Bianca has been staying inside the facility longer than you and maybe with your ever-changing personality, that affected her—"

"What the doctor was saying is," Doctor Rivera buts in. "We should just move on and let Bianca rest in peace. We're sad that her death has to be that way because it's not what we wanted for her. I think it's time for you to get your medication now, Miss Tenorio. It's time to leave the room."

Therrie was escorted out by Doctor Rivera and when they were finally out of the room, Doctor Rivera just told her not to say anything anymore in front of the officials or she'll spend most of her time back in the private rooms once again.

He called staff to bring Therrie back to her room. The staff hastily grabbed her hand and brought her to her room. The staff even watched her take the medicine so she wouldn't flush it on the toilet or make anything out of it.

Don't do anything.

That was the order made by the staff on her, but she believed she just couldn't sit and lay down on her bed without doing anything. She's almost there... she's about to bust them out and help everyone get out of this place, but if the doctors are always one step ahead of her, she won't be getting near anywhere.

But she needs to do something. Something that would shake this place out to its core. That's the only thing she could do. For Bianca, and obviously, for herself... this is not a battle about who they are and what they think, this is about people who were keeping them down the road and it's for Therrie to do something...

... bad.
