Ch.3

Sleeping was something you really didn't want to do. You felt a creeping feeling that something bad was going to happen.

You couldn't figure out what though. After way too long of laying awake, you fell into a light sleep.

Deep into the night, you hear the soft click of the door opening. Sitting up, you try to see anything you can in the dark.

"Hello?" you ask into the seemingly empty room. There silence and then an angry scream.

The sudden urge to dodge left hits you like a gleaming knife almost did. The only problem with that was that there was limited space on that bed.

You fell off the bed. Rolling on the floor in pain, you manage to dodge two more attempts to stab you.

After you gain enough air in your lungs, you yell, "help!" Dodging another jab, "oh, god, help me!"

Hey, if begging worked once it should work again, shouldn't it? You screamed a bit more before you finally heard footsteps.

Jack, as you could tell from his screams, had run into the room.

"What's wrong?" he screamed at you. "What's so bad that you had to wake everyone up at midnight?!"

"Someone's trying to stab me!" you shriek at him. "If I get hurt, you'll have to heal me more!"

That was enough to get him to help you. He rushed towards the bed and pulled whoever was on you, off you.

You heard a muffled gasp and you immediately recognized it as Olivia.

"Olivia?! You tried to stab me?!" you screamed at her.

In her huffs she angrily grumbles, "if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have to murder Konrad. I tried so hard to not have to, but then you happened!"

"Konrad as in your older brother Konrad?"

"Yeah, dumbass. All thank to you," she spat at you.

You gasp with tears pricking your eyes. Konrad was like an older brother to you too. He was always there to help you with one problem or another.

Whether it was math or your love life, he was there for you. Well, there for you and Olivia.

"Have you already...?"

"Yes. If I didn't, I'd be dead."

You laid down on the ground limply, staring at the ceiling. Tears were still in your eyes but you tried your hardest to not have them fall.

Your heart and soul screamed for the pain of your family. Yes, Konrad was like family to you.

You sat up after Olivia was brought out of the room. You had wanted to talk to her but not anymore.

You felt like shit. Nothing was going right. If you'd just let Olivia kill you, then Konrad would still be alive.

He had such a life ahead of him. Maybe you should go. Go like him. It'd be for the best anyway, wouldn't it?

You stood slowly as Jack walked up to you to check your injuries. Tears, which could now follow track with gravity, were flowing down freely.

You sat down on a seat that Jack led you too. You stared at the floor as he replaced your bandages.

As he laid you back down into bed he spoke, "if you plan on hurting yourself just know that I would know. And I would stop you cause I don't want you in here any longer than I have to."

You silently nod and close your eyes. You just wanted rest now. After crying for so long, you were tired.

You laid down and slept, memories of Konrad haunting your mind like fireflies waiting for the night.

A small hill, snowy and covered top to bottom with screaming kids. There were so many, there were too many.

They were crowded and trapped, begging to be let out and free. You were outside, at the base of the hill.

You stood there, watching them. You didn't know what to do. You just stood there, not opening the gate.

Tears were in your eyes as you stared at them. They were crying, crying, crying. Screaming at you, mad at you.

You fell to the ground, on your hands and knees. You begged for them to stop. You came up with excuses on why you couldn't let them out.

The hill shrunk and the people turned into visible thoughts and memories. They haunted you.

The gate was no more and they closed in around you. You held your head in your hands.

Gripping your hair, you felt pain. They backed off but didn't disappear. They lingered, waiting for the day you stopped hurting.

You closed your eyes a little tighter, gripped your hair a little more, and hoped for day to come a little faster.

Your breathing was fast and ragged. You felt like you were going to pass out but that there was going to be no end to this pain.

It was too much. Way too much. Then—.

Morning. Surprisingly, there were birds in this forest. Tweeting birds who liked to tell all sorts of secrets to each other.

Loud motherfuckers, waking you up. You couldn't remember your dream and knew it was bad but you were still unhappy about being woken up so early.

You groaned and rolled over, coming face to face with Jack.
