Those who make things tough for themselves

A slight change of tone in this story.

A few years back, attending a job agency, the load of us registered had to put up with rude staff who were a rare combination of unprofessional and jobsworth:
• avoided meetings (these were in our agreement
• shortcut with forced group meetings
• dismissive whilst reciting orders them may well have memorised from the same instructions
• clueless
• ignorant
• avoided us in general
• spoke in an 'american motivational speaker' manner
• they clearly dissliked their jobs

One difficult girl, who made a series of errors, who I ended up helping out often (not my job) as I felt for her (she was clearly the only person in her position) & was egar to see things move along quicker (so we could go home), was quite the gossip & very snide - I knew this early but for the latter reason mainly, didn't care.
She made herself feel uncomfortable around me by clearly talking about me...
However...
I did't need to know she spoke of me, as I didn't hear her conversation - it was all in the body language; she made eye contact after a number of jestures my way & instantely morphed from smug to deer in headlights.
On my end, who knows, who cares?
She clearly did.

After almost a year had passed since I attended the agency & last saw said girl who had resorted to putting her head down & rushing when she saw me.

A relative of mine chose to have a low key party, at a tiny venue (we were all in one room), with family & few friends.
I was there.
Guess who else turned up?
The girl from my former agency.
Who stayed in her seat & watched me, when she wasn't gazing at the table she sat at.

Seriously, what on Earth was I going to do? :D
I had done zero to even passively bite back.
