"Welcome everyone." The man said with a smile as the couple looked down at us.

That fake smile is brighter than the sun itself.

"Do they have a light behind them or something? Why do they look so shiny? It's hurting my eyes." I mumbled to Kayda, making her chuckle lowly.

"We're so glad you're her- Ugh, what is that awful smell?" The woman said in disgust as she sniffed around her. "Wait. Did someone bring a human with them?!" She screeched in surprise.

God, that voice is making my ears bleed.

"That human is our mate, so I'd watch you mouth if I were you." Tharion threatened in a deep voice as Draco glared at them.

Damn, that was hot.

The couple looked at him in shook and then their eyes moved on me. I crossed my arms and smirked at them victoriously. Even from here, I could see the brightness of their smiles fading slightly, making me smirk even more.

"Apologizes. We were not aware of this." The man said and continued his opening speech.

"Like hell you weren't. I bet you were informed the moment we stepped out of the portal." Blaze grumbled quietly.

"Our guards will show you the way to our brand new ballroom." The woman said with a sickeningly excited voice. "It was recently built and we thought it would be a perfect place for our gathering." She added as the guards guided us towards the ballroom.

"How big is this castle? Ever since I started attending these gatherings, they've built a new ballroom every year." Kayda said lowly making my eyes widen.

"What?!" I whisper-yelled in surprise.

Crazy bastards.

We soon entered the ballroom and my eyes were blinded in an instant.

"My poor eyes." I mumbled as I tried to adjust them to the bright lighting.

Tharion quickly moved his hand in front of my eyes, shielding them from the light.

"Again with the lighting." Kayda groaned as she aggressively blinked.

"Nothing new really." Blaze said with a sigh.

"It's to show us how pure they are, you know." Draco said sarcastically.

"Puh-lease. We know they're everything but pure." Blaze mocked with an eye roll.

I shook my head in amusement and looked around after my eyes got used to the stupid lighting. Then I noticed we weren't the only ones scowling.

I guess we all share the same thoughts.

The annoying couple appeared again and started yet another speech.

Do they ever take a break?

This speech was about harmony between dragons and bullshit like that.

"Can they just shut up already?" I grumbled desperately, already having enough of this gathering.

But they went on and on for at least an hour. At one point Draco lifted me in his arms and I've been dozing off ever since. They couldn't even get us chairs to sit.

Fuckers.

"And that would be all everyone. You may now enjoy the party." The annoying bitch said with a high-pitched chuckle.

I placed my chin tiredly on Draco's shoulder and looked around. I noticed a few females in the arms of their mates just like me. Some were sitting on the floor and dozing off and some even shifted to their dragon forms just so they could be more comfortable as they dozed off.

"Is it always like this?" I mumbled, trying to stifle a jawn.

"Unfortunately. Usually it lasts even longer. This is literally the bare minimum." Blaze groaned as he stretched his back.

I groaned too and buried my face in Draco's neck.

"Just a bit longer and we're leaving love. Hang in there." Tharion whispered and kissed my forehead.

"Fine." I grumbled and got down, because I'd be out in no time if I stayed in Draco's arms.

Thankfully, time flew by way faster than it did during the torturous speech, and everyone finally looked a bit cheerful. A lot of dragons approached us to congratulate Tharion on Draco for being mated and some of the women hugged the life out of me. But all in all, the party was great.

"We should leave now. Kayda is almost out." Blaze said as he pointed at a dozing Kayda.

The three of us nodded and headed towards the door.

"Leaving so soon?" Asked the bitch herself.

Ugh. I want to punch her.

"Well if someone had left their sleep magic to themselves, we would've been one of those who stayed." Draco replied sarcastically.

"Aww. Was it to much for your little human?" She mocked faking concern.

That's it. I've had it with them.

"Listen here you slimy lizard bic-"

My mouth got covered and now I'm being dragged away. The woman looked genuinely shocked I talked back to her and tried to jump her which only boosted my pride.

"Just wait until we get home and then curse her out all you want." Draco said with a chuckle.

I huffed in annoyance but nodded my head and he removed his hand away from my mouth.

"Next year, we're having the gathering at our place. I don't care what anyone has to say. It will be at our place. We'll just send invitations earlier so these fuckers don't outrun us." I said with finality and crossed my arms.

The guys looked at me with wide eyes, but Kayda had a megawatt smile on her face.

"Hell yeah!" She yelled excitedly, all sleep apparently gone, as we slowly approached the portal.

I grabbed Tharion's and Draco's hands and we slowly went through the portal. When we emerged on the other side, both Blaze and Kayda bolted toward the exit.

"And off they go." Draco chuckled. "But we don't blame them. We'd probably be the same if you hadn't come with us today." He added and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.

I smiled at him softly and snuggled into his arms. I felt arms on my waist and I slowly turned my head so Tharion could kiss my forehead.

"We should get going too. A long night is ahead of us." He whispered seductively next to my ear, and in the next second I was up in the air and over Draco's shoulder.

"Hu- Wai- What?! Nooo! No, no, no, no! That is not happening! Put me down right now!" I immediately protested once I understood what he meant by those words.

"Nope." Draco said, popping the p and to my utter horror smacked my butt.

That was a telltale sign of what was going to happen later and I knew I couldn't avoid it.

Fuck.
