Chapter 10 - Explaining The Trauma

"Trinity sweetheart come in here please I need to talk to you about something important" Leah called as she sat down at the kitchen table with sadness in her eyes

With a sense of hope, Leah watched as the girl came around the corner. She walked in looking like a sad and depressed little girl who was angry and sad inside. She had a rage building that she didn't know what the real cause was. It could have been because of her mothers death or it could have been something else she more Leah would know not yet. Although the girl might not have know and neither did Leah. Neither of them worried much about that because they needed change. A good form of change and not staying here and moping about for the loss of a loved one.

"Yes?" She asked and sat at the kitchen table near Leah

"We're going to travel, I know you saw me packing everything and I finally got us a way there so I want you to be prepared for what's to come" Leah began

"Where?, where we going Lee?" Trinity asked as she began to worry

The girl wanted to travel more than anything but she also didn't want to leave her home. The world she knew, the friends she had, the people she'd met. She didn't want to start new in a whole new place she had no idea of.

"My hometown la push Washington" Leah said with a sad smile

"Isn't that where the man who broke your heart lives?" The girl asked anger and sadness in her tone and eyes

"Yes but we will figure this all out when we arrive, my mom and dad are there and my little brother is close to your age so you'll have someone else to hang with too, plus there are plenty of kids on the reservation" Leah said trying to ease the girls emotions that were overwhelming her

"But what about my friends here and school and" Trinity was about to say her mom but remembered that was why they were leaving to begin with

"Firecracker I know your upset and I wish your mom could come with us on our road trip, but she trusted me to take care of you and I'm going to do the best I can to be a good mom to you and trust me I won't ever try and replace her I wouldn't come anywhere near her ability as a mother but I want to work this with you and your going to be okay we are going to be okay" Leah said holding trinity's hands in hers

"Promise" Trinity asked

"I promise to do my best as long as you promise to do your best" Leah said

Trinity nodded and agreed to the terms, she packed her things and followed after Leah. She followed after her like a lost puppy with an underlining raging anger and depression. Trinity was about to step into a whole new world and she couldn't have been sadder than she was now. Trinity and Leah got into the car and began their drive to the new place that trinity wasn't aware of yet. A place she would soon learn lots about and fear lots of things.

Leah's POV

I didn't know what to do when they told me I would forever be trinity's legal guardian. I didn't think Ashley trusted me that much to put her with me and not Jackson. Then again Jackson was weird and out of place now that I remember it when I met him. I worried about him when I first met him, he was weird and looked oddly familiar to me at the same time. Maybe it was because he looked like Sam with his toned skin, tall frame and tattoo on his shoulder almost the same one as Sam had. That was another thing I was worried about, worried Sam would get the wrong ideas. Worried everyone would get the wrong idea as to why I left Washington. I was worried people would rope trinity into doing bad things too or something.

I looked into the mirror to see trinity sleeping soundly in the back of the car. She was stunning just like her mother was, I hate saying was but that's how it was now. Trinity had a mix between black and brown hair and if I wasn't mistaken she almost fit perfectly with the reservation kids from back home. She had green eyes like her mother but tanned skin like her father but also freckles like her mom. Her hair had a hint of of blond and red to it which she got from her mother. Other than that the rest of her features that were left were from her father. I didn't mind the little features that matched her fathers because she was still stunning just like her mother was.

It was hard to explain how she was doing and what was happening to her, to us. It had been a few hours so I stopped in a rest stop and went to sleep as well.

In the morning I had to make sure trinity had her medicine that she takes every morning, noon and night. She has ADHD, anxiety and depression and slight PTSD from her mother and fathers arguments. She was little but she remembers them clearly and sometimes has nightmares and hard times sleeping. That's why she takes a few different kinds of pills throughout the day. Although she was especially special I loved her as if she were my own and plus it kept me busy. Busy worrying about her taking her pills and not having tantrums without them.

"Lee are we almost there?" She asked

"Not yet but I believe in a few hours jellybean" i said

She sigh softly and looked back out the window and I watched as she slowly fell back asleep. I decided to call my mom and explain everything before I got there so it was easier.
