As Sean stood by my window contemplating, Sybil came and snaked her arms around him, he didn't notice her at all, but as she kissed him on his neck he jolted and turned kissing her slightly on the lips.

Sybil had been his lover for a long time she knew that something was off with him, she asked " what's wrong? You are not yourself today".

What he couldn't tell her was that he had received a slap from that ordinary girl and it was making him furious, there was something about her, her defiant looks ,her utter lack of respect towards him, her aloofness from her own family.

He said nothing and went towards the bathroom and shut the door and looked at the mirror and touched his cheek where Rania Conwell had slapped him.

She would pay for this mistake dearly.

He took a shower to cool himself down ,but his mind was wary after getting dressed he left the room leaving Sybil alone. He walked to his study and sat on his chair checking his emails.

One email was from his father stating that he coming at the end of the week from the United States. He smiled but the very next moment his expression changed when he saw the next mail ,it was from Josh he clicked it open.

It was information on Rania Conwell's family, she stayed with her uncle and aunt in Kolkata, who had two daughters of their own and one son. They had a sweet shop.

There were pictures attached too, they all looked happy and content.

It was not that he had never been happy in his life, but the covenant had always dictated the terms of his life, and there she was living her life like nothing mattered but just herself  and her choices and this is what annoyed him.

He shut the laptop with a thud  and called Mr Crawley and said
" I'd like a meeting of all the five families in the covenant" and cut the call.

Rania went back home drenched in rainwater , she quietly went up to her bathroom in her room, she stood and looked at herself in the mirror, all she could see was a girl who had swollen eyes and failed confidence and she hated it, it wasn't her.

She kept looking in the mirror with tears falling from her eyes, she had been sought, hunted, and hurt by him all because she was a Conwell by name.

She changed into her clothes and slept on her bed, sleep as they say was momentary relief from the chaos of life, but it was just a span of few hours and then one had to face reality.

Mr Conwell meanwhile got a call from Mr Crawley that a meeting was going to be convened on request by Mr Knightley Jr himself, and in that moment he knew he had lost this war.

A maid was sent to fetch Rania from her room and she unwillingly woke up and was told about a meeting which she had to attend.

All were present at Mr Conwell's house for the meeting, Mr Knightley arrived fifteen minutes before the meeting and his eyes scanned the room looking for someone,but to his utter despair she was not here, he had to look her in the eye and tell her today her normal life would be gone forever.

She entered the room not even looking at him and sat beside her father, she looked up once and her eyes caught his once and he touched his cheek, indicating the place where she had slapped him ,she looked away.

The meeting started and Mr Crawley said " today's meeting is being held by the insistence of Mr Knightley Jr, I'll let him take over now".

Sean was sitting on his chair ,he was dressed in a suit and said  
"Thank you Mr Crawley for getting this meeting arranged, I would like to inform everyone from today half of Mr Conwell's property belongs to me now signed to me by his eldest daughter Miss Conwell".

Everyone gasped at this announcement and Mr Conwell got up from his place and said
" He abducted my daughter and got the papers signed by her forcibly".

Sean smiled at the predictably of Mr Conwell's behaviour and retorted" I didn't do anything of this sorts, this kind of behaviour can be expected out of this family not mine".

Mr Crawley looked towards Rania and asked her " what do you have to say ,did he abduct you?".

She was silent and she nodded yes.

Rania was not in a state of mind, she was feeling restless and seeing Mr Knightley was making her uncomfortable.

Her mind didn't register anything until a man asked her whether she was abducted or not ,she nodded yes almost mechanically.

They were all arguing whether she was abducted or not ,when she sensed someone's hand on hers, her eyes shot up, it was her father and he said" tell them everything please".

It felt like almost that she was awake,  her father had touched her and asked her to do something for the first time in her life.

She sat in her place and related her side of the story. Everyone listened and when she looked up Sean was giving her a smile ,and she couldn't be more confused than this.

All of a sudden he came towards her and took both her hand in his and said" you don't have to lie anymore Rania, you can tell them".

She immediately removed her hand from his and looked at him confoundingly.

" What are you saying, I'm telling the truth and nothing else".

Sean looked at her and said
" Miss Conwell went with me willingly and signed the papers, she is such a fine lady and her love for me surpassed even her father's".

Rania felt like someone had slapped her so hard, she went towards him and pulled his shirt and said" what are you saying ,that I love you ,I don't even know you, you abducted me , coerced me to sign , i don't even know what is this covenant and all".

He slightly removed her hands and pulled her in his embrace and said" Now let drop this act Rania, I know i told you to wait ,but now I have to tell them that we are engaged".
