It was a rainy day in Kolkata,where Rania Conwell sat by her bedroom window,and was reading her favourite novel, she was an avid reader,it was an reprieve from her odd life, and it took her places where everything was good,with all their beautiful heroines,brooding heroes,and eventually a happy ever after.

It was not something she could imagine happening with her ever,she wasn't a pessimistic person,just a realist who had known about life at a young age.

As she was lost in her world of books,she heard someone calling her name,and to her utter disappointment it was her aunt.She hastily closed her book, and draped her duppata on her shoulder and went outside her room to see her aunt who as usual was cursing the servants for their apparent lack of work ethics,her aunt looked at her and said
" Come with me to my room your uncle wants to speak to you".
She followed her aunt and entered the room and stood by the bedside,her uncle wasn't in the room he came from outside and sat on the bed and after a momentary pause he said

"Your father called me yesterday at the shop and he said that he wants you to come to London for his daughter's wedding he has sent your plane ticket ,and asked me to get your visa ready"

Rania was in shock she was speechless,her father had never inquired about her well being in the last ten years just sending her uncle and aunt a cheque every month,for her expenses and now he was calling her to his daughter's wedding as if it wasn't a big deal.She exhaled and said to her uncle
"No I'm not going you can call him" and left the room without a glance.
Rania ran and didn't stop until she reached the terrace and cried,tears didn't seem to cease from her eyes,she couldn't fathom her father's cruelty or much rather aloofness towards her ,he had divorced her mother to marry someone else within their one year of marriage,and after Rania was born,he wasn't even there,and after she turned 13 her mother decided to remarry,and Rania couldn't be much happier,and after a mere six months her stepfather got a job in the US,and he had tried for Rania to come with them, but it was not possible as,she was still a minor, after much cajoling by Rania herself her mother decided to go and arranged for her stay in her maternal uncle's house, after her father had blantly refused to keep her with him and now he had the audacity to call her to London,she wouldn't give in.

He thought giving money could solve all the problems,that too Rania didn't use his money on herself,it was what her mother sent that she used for her expenses.After regaining composure, she decided not to think about it anymore and went downstairs to distract herself.

Little did she know that everyone in London was eagerly waiting for her arrival,and it was going to change her life forever.
