Chapter 19

*Shimizu Hada's POV:

Lunch was absolutely the worst.

According to camp rules, we weren't allowed to talk to anyone as we were eating, so the Cafeteria was as quiet as a mouse.

Guards were carrying guns and standing by the walls of the Cafeteria, watching us.

I couldn't even talk to Beval, whom was sitting right across from me. All we could do was make eye contact with one another.

Robin and Gaia were sitting separately from each other on the other side of the Cafeteria. Not everyone in Group 2 had the same lunchtime, I just so happened to get lucky to have the same lunchtime with my friends.

The meal that they gave us was a foul-smelling egg sandwich with bread as hard as rock, sour chocolate milk, flavorless and uncooked broccoli and not to mention brown mushy apple slices.

I literally had to force myself to eat it without gagging, but Beval wasn't as fortunate.

Minutes after forcing himself to eat it, he threw up everywhere. The guards made him clean it right up

It wasn't a very good sight to see.

The only good thing about lunchtime was the fact that the Cafeteria was at room temperature, like around 70-75 degrees, so we had a thirty minute break from the freezing cold. Either way, many people were still coughing, sneezing and sniffling.

There were so many sick people at the camp, it was crazy. I tried not to touch anyone from fear that I would become sick myself.

It took a few hours, but the temperature outside rose from thirty degrees to forty-five degrees, and it stopped snowing.

It was still cold outside, but a little bit more manageable.

After lunch, I began shoveling snow around my cabin.

My throat was hurting, but my hands weren't as numb anymore. I was shivering from head to toe, but I still thanked God that it got fifteen degrees warmer.

That was the only thing I could thank God for. That was the only thing I could be thankful for.

There was nothing to be thankful for about being in an extermination camp knowing that you were going to die in a couple of weeks. Knowing that you were going to die soon was a tough pill to swallow for many of the prisoners, but they knew they couldn't do anything about it.

And that's what I didn't like.

I didn't like how we could just let them do this to us. I didn't like how we just lost hope and had given up on life. I didn't like how we couldn't fight back.

What was frustrating was that I couldn't even think of an efficient plan to get us out of here.

If I didn't do something about this soon, more people will die. Me and my friends will die.

It was so stressful just thinking about it, frustration started to take over me.

I yelled out in anger and slammed the shovel on the ground.

Many of the prisoners that were around me looked at me, startled.

"Hey dude, are you okay?" one guy asked as he was walking up to me.

"I'm tired of this shit" I mumbled as I looked down at my shovel, clenching my fist.

"Huh? Repeat that?" he asked as he placed his hand on my shoulder.

"I am so freaking tired of this! Look at us, submissively waiting for our fates and doing absolutely nothing to prevent it from happening! Why can't we ju-"

"Shhh!" the guy shushed me as he covered my mouth. "Look, I honestly agree with you but at the same time, you can't just yell stuff like that out loud. What if the guards here you?"

I looked around.

A lot of the prisoners were looking at me, but luckily, there were no guards near us to notice my ranting and raving.

The nearest guards were about two hundred feet away, watching over other prisoners, not paying any attention to us.

"Follow me, let's go someplace quiet and talk. Don't forget to bring your shovel, we have to act like we're doing work" he said to me as he walked away, wanting me to follow him.

"Uhh, okay" I replied as I began following him.

"What is your name by the way?" I asked.

"Mohammed, Mohammed Moshen" he replied as he looked back at me and smiled.

As I followed him, we casually walked pass some guards. When they were looking at us, we didn't give them any eye contact, we just kept looking forward, but tried not to look suspicious.

"Where are we going?" I whispered to him.

"We are going near the gate that separates Group 2 and Group 3. We are going to shovel snow there, but while we do it, we are going to talk about this whole situation. There should be no guards over there, so we should be alright."

A few minutes later, we made it to the gate that separated our group and Group 3.

The gate was about six feet tall and it stretched as far as we could be able to see.

After we started shoveling snow, I asked Mohammed a question.

"Is it against the rules to be here?"

"No. If it was, they would've told us. We are still in Group 2, we're just at the very edge of it" Mohammed replied as he looked outward at Group 3.

It was filled with a bunch of older teens and young adults doing similar work as we were doing here in Group 2.

"Now, about what you said, about how we're just submissively waiting for our deaths without preventing it from happening. I totally agree with you. But the only way we can really prevent our deaths from happening is if we escape, but it won't be easy. To escape this camp, you would will have to be quick, fast and silent. Also, you would have to mentally prepare yourself for a chance of death because there isn't a 100% chance you are going to escape, alive" Mohammed continued.

That's when I thought about something; if me and my friends escaped, what about the other prisoners?

We would just abandon them and only worry about ourselves.

"But if we do escape, then what? Millions of experi-babies will still die and-"

"I'm sorry, millions of what?" he asked, bewildered as he interrupted me.

I blew my breath and explained.

"An "experi-baby" is a term that me and my friends use as a way of saying "a person who was experimented on". It's basically an easier way of saying it."

"Oh, okay" he nodded, still kind of confused.

"Millions of experi-babies will still die in these camps if only you, me and my friends escape. It would be wrong for us to just leave them" I continued.

"Who are your friends?" he asked.

"Their names are Robin, Gaia, and Beval" I said.

"Beval?"

"Yeah" I nodded.

"Is he Hispanic?" Mohammed asked.

"Yeah."

"Does he have purple eyes, braces and brown, wavy hair?"

"Yeah?" I said, trying to see where he was going with this.

"I know him, he is in my cabin" Mohammed said as he showed me his branding mark on his right arm.

It said 23. Beval's is 23.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I was telling him the rules of the cabin and everything, but also how to escape if he ever tries to. But to get back to what you were saying; basically, you want to try to get every single prisoner in this camp to escape with us? That's literally impossible!"

"Well, what else can we do?"

"Escape by ourselves! We will have a chance of survival if we do so. We can't save everyone."

"Do you have an efficient plan?" I asked him, because it seemed like he knew everything.

"No, not yet, but I am pretty sure you don't eith-"

Before he could finish, he started coughing vigorously.

"Are you okay?" I asked him as I took three steps back.

"Not really, the cold is kind of getting to me. I have been feeling like this for the pass four days."

"Wait a minute, you've been here for four days and you still haven't came up with a plan to leave this place?!"

I have a plan."

Me and Mohammed quickly looked towards the gate to see who said that.

I was surprised at what I saw, well, who I saw.

"Danny!" I yelled out as I tossed the shovel on the ground and ran over to the gate. He was on the other side of the gate in Group 3 with a wagon full of bricks.

Mohammed casually walked over.

"Hey kid" Danny greeted.

"Aren't I glad to see you! This is Mohammed, I just met him about ten minutes ago" I smiled as I introduced him to Mohammed.

"Hey, I'm Danny" Danny greeted with a small smile.

"Hey Danny, it's nice to me you. Are you from around here?" Mohammed asked as he waved back.

"I was born in San Francisco. How about you?"

"I am Saudi Arabian, but I was born in Oakland."

"Cool" Danny replied.

"When did they put you here?" I asked him.

"Today, a few hours ago, I'm pretty sure they put you and your friends here today as well" he said with a cocked eyebrow.

"Yeah they did" I said sadly as I looked to the ground and scratched my head.

"Shimizu?! Mohammed?! What are you guys doing over there?!"

Me and Mohammed turned our heads to see Beval carrying a broom, standing about 10 yards away.

He started to jog over, but looked back to make sure guards weren't around.

"Hey Beval, you remember Danny, right?" I asked to him, pointing to Danny.

Beval looked at him.

"Hey, aren't you that homeless-"

"I wasn't homeless, I was just going through a lot at the moment. God!" Danny explained in a frustrated tone, interrupting Beval.

"Oh, my bad" Beval apologized as he placed his hands up and backed up a little.

"So, what is this plan you said you had Mr. Danny?" Mohammed asked.

"Dude, I'm 21, not 31. Don't call me Mr. Danny, just say Danny."

"Okay "Danny", what plan do you have?" Mohammed asked with sarcasm.

Danny looked back for a second to make sure no one was looking.

"I say we start a revolt" he suggested quietly.

"A revolt? Like the prisoners going against the guards?" Beval asked.

"Yeah, but we have to do it late at night when the guards aren't as active. I say we get them with a sneak attack. We ambush them, take their guns and use them as weapons against the guards. Now keep in mind, the guards will fight back, so some prisoners will die, but that is a sacrifice that we are going to have to make."

"Wait a minute? What makes you think we aren't going to be killed? Revolting against the guards?! We're talking about high risk of death here! Like you said, the guards will fight back and-"

"And they will be outnumbered. There is way more prisoners than guards in this camp, so because there are so many prisoners that will be fighting back, there will be a small chance that we may be the ones killed by a guard. To prevent that from happening, we would have to keep it on the low and leave the fighting to the prisoners, but we will be the ones who start it, if that makes sense" Danny explained as he interrupted Mohammed.

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense" Mohammed shrugged as he looked away.

"The revolt should slowly make its way to the entrance of the camp, that way we can try to break the front gate open" Danny continued.

"How will we break the front gate open if the gate has tons of barbed wire and a strong lock?" I asked him, trying my best to understand his plan.

"I learned this on YouTube. If you hit the lock with the ba-"

"YouTube? Ha! What a great source of information" Beval said sarcastically, interrupting Danny.

"Can you please listen?! God!" Danny scowled at Beval.

"I'm just saying" Beval shrugged, not caring that he angered Danny.

Danny rolled his eyes and continued.

"Anyways, you have to hit the lock with the back of a gun five times with all of your strength. Once it breaks, we are free!"

"Sounds like a pretty good idea" I said as I stroked my chin.

"And the good part about this is that if our revolt is successful, it will be all over the news, and experi-babies from all over the country and even the world will hear about this revolt and may even try to revolt themselves. This may stop the extermination of experi-babies from happening" Danny finished.

"Perfect, we have a plan to stop the extermination, that's one down and two to go. Now, we still have to figure out how to stop the New World Order and World War 3" Beval stated as he paced back and forth.

"Wait what?!"Mohammed yelled out in confusion.

"Oh, you guys haven't told him yet, have you?" Danny asked us.

"Nah, I didn't" Beval spoke up.

"Wait, is he in the same cabin as you?" Danny asked Beval.

"Yep, cabin 23."

"Uh, can someone please explain to me what is going on?! What does Beval mean about World War 3 and such?!" Mohammed asked in frustration.

"Okay I'll explain it to him then, since neither of you guys did it" Danny said, eyeing us.

"I just met him" I spoke up, defending myself.

"Okay, Mohammed, you know about the whole W.E.A vs the United States government debate, right?" Danny asked him.

"Yeah, it's a debate about who is really responsible for the kidnappings and experimentation of babies and young children. Me and my family believed that it was W.E.A that was responsible. It wouldn't make sense for the U.S. or any other country for that matter to do it to their own people, especially knowing the chaos they would cause if they had powers."

"Well, what if I told you that this whole W.E.A. and the United States government debate was all just a distraction from the fact that W.E.A and the United Nations are working together?"

"W.E.A exist?! Wow, I guess me and my family were right after all! But, I have a question" Mohammed stated as he raised his hand a little.

"Yeah?" Danny asked.

"Isn't the United States part of the United Nations?"

Danny face-palmed himself.

"Yes, yes, it is. You kids really need to pay attention in American Government class" He sighed. "Anyways, W.E.A and the United Nations are working together to achieve their main goal, and that is to reduce the world's population. They tried to do it before with man-made diseases like: Aids, HIV, Ebola, and many more. In the United States, they even brought drugs into poorer neighborhoods so people could overdose, destroy themselves, and even destroy each other."

"That situation was called the crack epidemic, it happened in the 80s, right?" Mohammed asked, kneeling down on the ground to get a break from standing.

"Yes, yes it did" Danny nodded.

"What number are they trying to reduce it to?" Mohammed asked.

"About 3 billion or maybe even less. The less people, the better" Danny answered.

"Wow. What should we do?"

"I will tell you what we should do Mohammed, but first let me tell you how they will reduce the population. First, they will try to exterminate millions of experi-babies all around the world."

"Wait! That's why they are doing this? Why us? What did we ever do to anyone? The President even said about a month ago that we were planning to get rid of people who weren't experimented on, but that wasn't true. I personally would never hurt another human being. I never used my powers to harm anyone. My powers can't harm anyone because I can only read minds."

"That's the thing, they lied. They wanted to brainwash and convince the people not only in this country, but in the whole world that we are planning a mass extermination of "regular humans". It was easy for people to believe because of the semi-truthful stereotypes about experimented people being criminal, hostile, violent and murderous. These stereotypes were caused by some bad apples and people began dictating the whole tree. Sadly, because of that lie and that stereotype, "regular humans" are afraid of us, and that is exactly what W.E.A wanted. Now W.E.A and the United Nations have an excuse to exterminate nearly half of the world's population, which is currently experi-babies."

"So what you are saying is that we were only experimented to be exterminated?" Mohammed asked.

Danny nodded his head yes.

Mohammed lowered his head in disbelief.

"The extermination of experi-babies will take place for five years, but hopefully, the plan we have will be able to stop it. If it continues, then after the extermination, the New World Order will start. That is when we will experience three years of world peace. After that, it will be four years of world war 3."

"How do you go from world peace to world war 3?!" Mohammed asked as he scratched his head in confusion.

"That's what I said" Beval said to Mohammed, agreeing with his question.

"Easy. When the extermination is over and the experi-babies are all dead, the crime rate will go down, there will be less riots and chais. And since the population is down, there will be less poverty and people won't have to fight over resources anymore. This will be the era of world peace, which will lead into the New World Order. At this time, there will be one world government, and only one leader. No more need for Patriotism or Nationalism. During this time, a world leader, or it should be known as a dictator, will rise to power and his job is to make sure everything is in order. Socially, culturally, and politically. The people will love him. Very few will hate him. The Bible calls him the Antichrist. Many Conspiracy Theorist just refer to him as "the dictator of the world". He will be extremely powerful and will seem like a nice person, but in reality, he will be corrupt and power-hungry. Anyone who protests against him or publicly doesn't agree with him. They will be put in jail, and maybe even to death, as they will be seen as people who were against the extermination of experience-babies and supported their actions against "regular humans". This man will be a wolf in sheep's clothing."

"Is there any way to stop him?" Mohammed asked in fear.

"I don't know. After the New World Order, somehow, someway, World War 3 will begin. Because of all of the nuclear warfare, World War 3 will be so bad that the human race would go either extinct or be in bad shape."

"What?! So you mean to tell me we may possibly die several years from now because of World War 3?!" Mohammed asked nervously. He seemed like he was about to have an emotional breakdown.

Danny slowly nodded his head.

"Yes, that is if we don't find shelter to hide from World War 3."

"Oh my god, oh my god" Mohammed mumbled as he stood up. He began gripping his hair and breathing heavily as he started backing away.

He was obviously panicking.

I remembered me and Robin being in his situation a month ago, feeling how he was feeling. We were panicking, running home to tell our family members, not knowing what to do. That adrenaline, that fear, that rush of nervousness, I will never forget.

I went over to him and placed my hands on his shoulders.

"Hey, it's going to be alright. We'll figure out something, okay?" I said to him.

He nodded at me in response, calming down a little.

"Shimizu" Beval called out.

I let go of Mohammed.

"Yeah?" I answered, looking at him.

"I totally forgot! Mina and her dad did say that they were fixing up a nuclear shelter that is big enough to fit hundreds of people inside. The thing is, we just need to get there before they do. But first, we will have to find and bring our families."

"Beval, I love you!" I yelled as I placed my hands on his shoulders, happy that he shared that. "Thank you so much for sharing that dude! We may have a chance to survive now!" I shouted in joy.

He made a wide smile.

"No problem man, but how are we supposed to get the map to the nuclear shelter?"

"Hmmm, we'll have to break in" I suggested.

"What?!" Beval yelled. "How are we supposed to sneak in without her or her dad seeing us? If they see us, we're dead."

"Well, then we'll just have to sneak in there late at night when they're asleep" I shrugged, nonchalantly.

"Okay wait a minute, before we get to that, first we need to figure out a plan on how to set up the revolt Danny was talking about and how to tell the others around the camp" Mohammed spoke up, watching his surroundings.

"Okay, Mohammed, I remember you telling me that the guards usually check up on the sleeping prisoners at around 1 am. So that means the revolt should start later than one, maybe at 3 am. You also said that the guards are less active at that time because they figure that the prisoners are asleep. Some of them may slack and fall asleep on the job at that time" Beval reminisced out loud, back to what Mohammed told them earlier that day.

"But keep in mind, many of them do stay awake and stay alert. So, what needs to happen today is that we need to tell everyone about the revolt. Please make sure you don't tell them while guards are around. If the guards find out, our plan will be ruined. When you tell the prisoners about the revolt, make sure you tell them to tell other prisoners, and to tell them when guards aren't around. We need to revolt quickly, we only have two weeks, many prisoners have sooner than that. I say the revolt should take place two days from now" Danny insisted.

"In two days?" I asked.

"Yes, no sooner, no later."

"Wait Danny! How will we be able to tell the girl's side of Group 2? We will get in huge trouble if the guards caught us trying to get over there. Also, how will we be able to tell Group 1 when they are in a different section of the camp?" Beval asked.

"Well Beval, you can sneak into the girl's side of Group 2 and tell that Caribbean girl about our plan" Danny suggested as he raised his eyebrows up and down. "You probably miss your little girlfriend."

Beval started to become agitated.

"Dude, you have a girlfriend?!" Mohammed asked Beval.

"No, no, no, and no. The girl that Danny is talking about isn't my girlfriend, she is my best friend Gaia" Beval explained as he pinched his nose bridge in frustration.

"Well, since Beval isn't doing it, I choose you, Shimizu. You will sneak into the girl's side of Group 2 at around 2:30 am tonight. You will find that redheaded girl Robin and tell her about the revolt. That way, she will tell the other girls about it and all of the girl's side of Group 2 will know" he ordered me.

"Wait what? No way!" I shouted, refusing to do it.

He must've been out of his marbles if he thought I was willing to risk my life and do that.
