30.) Talks with All Might
"You gotta always be aware of your surroundings, Shinso," Kivi says.
"This is kinky."
"Maybe so," Kivi responds.
To help Hitoshi to be more aware of his surroundings, Kivi decided that a good way to train this is to block out his sight. He has a folded up bandana across his eyes to block his vision.
"So what exactly do you want me to do?"
"Tell me where I am."
"How am I supposed to do that? You blocked my vision," he responds.
"You gotta use your other senses dumbass," Kivi responds with an eye roll. "Alright, let's begin." She moves to his right and rushes toward him.
He narrowly dodges. "What the hell?! Are you trying to kill me?!"
She moves up and flips him onto his back, sitting on top of him. "I win."
"You always win," he complains, ripping off the bandana and pouting up at her.
"Quit pouting and take your loss like a man."
"I am, but that doesn't mean I have to like it."
"Alright, we'll do this again once you're able to take me down normally."
"That'll never happen. You've been doing this since you could walk. I've been doing this since the sports festival."
"Gotta catch me by surprise. You'll never get by next year in the hero course if you can't even land a hit on me once. Don't be afraid to hit me cause I'm a girl." She grins at him.
"I get it! I'm not good enough!" he shouts. "I'm doing my best!" He suddenly pauses and glances behind her. "Hey, isn't that Hades?"
"Huh?" she turns to look behind her. "I don't sens–"
She suddenly gets punched hard across the face then pushed to the ground and sat on by Shinso like she did to him.
Aizawa looks on with a subtle grin. He taught him that.
Hitoshi grins down at her. "I win."
She grunts. "I can't believe I actually fell for that..."
"Me either."
"But..." She trails her hands up his stomach, and he tenses underneath her touch. She pulls him into a kiss before flipping him over and pinning him to the ground. "I still win."
He looks at her dazed. "That's... cheating."
"Everything is valid in a fight even if it's fighting dirty. Don't be scared to do it. Whatever helps you win."
If you listen closely, you can hear Aizawa cackle to himself.
"I'll remember that for next time," he mutters with an ending huff. "Now get off."
"Nah, I think I'll stay here for a bit. I like the position you're in."
He lightly flushes, averting his gaze. "Off."
"No, you're acting cute. It's not often I get you to blush," Kivi responds.
"Why do you like to torture me?"
"That's a good question," Kivi says. "I don't really know. But I do bother Bakugo too."
"Yeah, because it's fun to piss him off," Shinso claims.
"True. I do it to Izuku every once in a while too," Kivi says, tapping her chin with her finger. "He reacts a lot like ya except it's like full blown and not held back with his expressions. A blushing fool." She chuckles. "Anyway, detention is over, and I gotta go pick up Akiba. Wanna come?"
"No, I have training with Aizawa now."
"Alright, see ya tonight then."
She changes back into her uniform, picks Akiba up, and they head back to the dorms.
"Akichan! Kivi-san!" Mina calls out as they enter.
Sitting in the common room are, Mina, Denki, Sero, Toru, Tsu, Eijiro, Izuku, Ochaco, Koda, Mashi, and Jiro.
"Do you wanna play hide n go seek?" Eijiro asks.
"You guys are losers," Kivi answers.
"We have nothing better to do," Jiro shrugs.
Aki grins, throwing his bag and jacket by the wall and jumping in excitement. "Yeah! I wanna play! Nee-san! Play!" He gives her his best puppy dog eyes, pulling on her arm.
"Alright, fine. Where can we hide?" Kivi asks, already planning on where she's going.
"Anywhere in the building except your floor, Kivi-san, cause that would be cheating," Mina says.
She rolls her eyes. "Alright. Who's it?"
"I am," Mashi says.
"Alright!" Mina cheers. "Count to 30 and find us! There's... 12 of us to find!"
Mashi closes his eyes and begins to count.
Kivi immediately heads up to the second floor, without the others noticing, and gets to a certain room. She knocks, waiting for the boy to answer.
A loud annoyed sigh is heard then shuffling to come and open the door. "Wha—Kivi-san? What are you doing here?"
She shoves herself into the dark room, much to the boys' annoyance and silent protests. She plops herself onto his bed, closest to the wall. "The other's are playing hide n seek, so I came here to 'hide' or whatever."
He sighs, closing the door because he knows he would never be able to make her leave. "Why me? You never talk to me," the bird boy asks.
"I like your room, and they'd never suspect me to come here," Kivi says, looking around the dark room. "I like your sword. I have like 12 katanas on my floor. You know how to use it?"
"Uh, no... it's... just for... decoration..." Fumikage admits, feeling awkward in his own room. He awkwardly stands in the middle of his room, deciding where he should go.
"You can sit next to me, I won't bite. It is your room after all," Kivi says, moving her hands to rest behind her head.
"O... kay..." He sheepishly scoots onto the bed beside her.
Kivi eyes the robes hanging on the wall over the end of the bed. She chuckles. "You totally wear those robes and act like you're some knight or something with your sword, don't you?"
"Whaaa–"
Dark Shadow springs out from Tokoyami in laughter. "She ratted you out!"
She sits up. "You even have a shield!"
Dark Shadow moves to laugh beside her.
"Shut up!" Tokoyami shouts embarrassed.
"It's nothing to be embarrassed about," Kivi says. "Maybe you can incorporate it when you go pro. I can teach you how to fight with a sword if you want."
"You know how to use a sword?"
"I've learned just about how to use every weapon..." Kivi says distantly. "Swords and guns are the first two I learned how to use. ...So, would you be interested in learning?"
"Yeah... that'd be cool..." he mutters.
Kivi pulls Dark Shadow's head into her lap and pets him. He's shocked at first then melts into purrs. "Cool."
"Why are you being helpful and nice?"
"Well, you are letting me hang out in your room uninvited."
"If you were in my place would you say no to you?"
"Alright, I see your point," Kivi responds. "...Am I really that scary?"
"Yes."
Kivi can't decide if she likes that answer or not. "Hmm..."
Tokoyami flinches back at her light hum. "Uh... I didn't... mean to upset you... or anything..."
"No, you're fine," Kivi responds. "Just trying to figure out if I like being feared or not."
A knock on his door interrupts them. Fumikage gets up to answer it as Kivi hides herself under the blankets.
"What?" Tokoyami grunts, opening the door.
"Some of us are playing hide n seek and I'm wondering if anyone is in there?" Mashi asks, peeking his head in.
"No, go away." He shuts the door quickly.
Kivi pops her head out from underneath the blankets with a grin. "So, you're helping hide me?"
"Well, the point of the game is to find the others yourself," Tokoyami replies.
"Riiiight," Kivi responds. "Thanks then."
The two hang out until dinner time. Kivi heads up to get changed out of her uniform into some pjs, a tank and some shorts.
The group that was playing the game rush over to Kivi.
"Where were you?!" they shout.
"Fumikage's room," she simply answers.
"Whaat!? Tokoyami, you lied to me!" Mashi shouts in betrayal.
Tokoyami shrugs. "You're supposed to find her. I'm not supposed to just tell you."
"I never would've thought to look for you in his room!" Ochaco exclaims.
"That was the whole point," Kivi says. "Have you found my brother yet?"
"No!" Toru whines. "We've been looking for him forever! And I'm invisible!"
Kivi chuckles, walking over to the nearest vent and opening it. Inside is a sleeping Akiba, and Kivi gently pulls him out.
"How'd he get in there?!" Mashi shouts.
"His quirk," Kivi says, gesturing to the little black marks on the corners of the vent cover. "He has energy blasts like me. That's how he opened it." She picks up the vent with her powers and puts it back in place. "And that's how he closed it." She adjusts Aki to lay his head on her shoulder still fast asleep. "I told him to only tell our parents that his quirk only lets him regrow his own body along with others. I didn't want them to know that he's like me just not as strong."
"Why?" Tsu asks.
"They surely would've made him train as hard as they made me. That's something I wouldn't wish on anybody. I protected him," Kivi says. "Anyway, what's for dinner?"
"Bakugo cooked tonight, so it's sure to be good whatever it is!" Ochaco squeals excitedly.
They all get together at the tables and dig in. "Itadakimasu!"
"I am here!"
Everyone turns to the enlarged All Might who turns himself to normal after everyone sees him.
"All Might! What are you doing here?" Izuku asks.
"I am here... to talk with young Kivi," he answers, looking to the girl.
"Oooo! What did you do this time?" Mina teases.
Kivi looks at the retired pro who gives her the 'it's time to talk' look with his eyes. She sighs. "Alright, I'll go get Hades and Lucifer to come with us. Katsu?"
"Hah?"
"Will you put Aki to bed?"
"What? I'm not–"
Kivi turns to him with a look that says it all. "Katsuki."
He crosses his arms and puffs out a breath. "Fine, whatever."
She ruffles his hair. "Thank you." She gets up, puts her dirty dishes in the sink, and heads upstairs to get her two big cats before returning to walk with All Might. "Let's go."
All Might waves behind him before the doors shut behind them.
"Are you sure young Bakugo will be okay with little Akiba? It's also cold, you should go get some warmer clothes on."
"I'm fine, my quirk keeps me warm enough. And yeah, he's babysat him a few times," Kivi says. "I think Katsuki really likes him as if Aki was his own little brother. Aki really enjoys being around him too. Aki told me it's like having a male version of me. Obviously Bakugo's more of a tsundere though."
All Might chuckles. "I'm glad."
They continue to walk now in silence as they watch Kivi's panthers roam around the area.
"So, what do you want to know?" Kivi breaks the silence.
"I think it's time for me to know all about All for One and yourself," All Might says.
Kivi sighs. "It's a long story, so let's go sit down."
They head over to the bench her and Hitoshi usually occupy. It's a little early, so Hitoshi is nowhere in sight.
"So, you said that your parents hired him, correct?"
Kivi sighs, calming herself down some. "Before I start my back story, let me explain more about my quirks."
"Alright."
She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath before opening her eyes to reveal them to have a few flicks of glowing like green in them.
She looks to see the ghost who always follows her, Esprit. She also sees the pretty woman floating behind All Might.
"You can see me?" she asks.
Kivi nods. "I already explained how the ghost quirk works, combined with my own. But... I never showed you." She raises a hand and places it on Esprit's arm, pouring her energy into him.
He appears and makes All Might flinch back in fright and surprise. "What the fu–"
"This is Esprit, he won't hurt you. I trust him. He's the one that helped me relearn and get my power back," Kivi quickly explains. "When I was detained, he went with me. He scared me until I realized he wouldn't hurt me. I quickly discovered that I could no longer use my quirk Mana. I figured that All for One took it and traded it for Ghost. After hearing a little of what happened though, I figured that wasn't true. I'm half as strong as I used to be."
All Might eyes the ghost as he floats around them, not saying anything. "Half the strength? Can he talk?"
"When he wants to," Esprit ominously answers in clear Japanese, laughing when All Might recoils.
"Esprit is a demon spirit just like... Lunox, w-which I'll get back to," Kivi says. "When I was in my natural look, I was able to lift 10 tons with my shields, but now I can only lift 5 tons."
"That's quite a feat."
"Nothing compared to you."
"The fact that I've never met anyone who can lift more than 5 tons, it's definitely impressive, young Kivi."
"Izuku's new black whip quirk never would've been able to penetrate my shield if I was my normal self either. Or if I was in an area with more energy..."
Esprit vanishes from All Might's sight. All Might notices as he looks in the direction for a second but doesn't question it, figuring his time limit was up. "So, who is Lunox?"
Kivi takes a breath. "As I said, he started training me when I was 11."
Flashback
(Before I looked like this, I was a being of pure energy. I enjoyed looking like that. Now, I'm basically a crippled version of myself. I'm having to relearn things. Like flying. I used to be able to easily do that.)
"Kivi, as you've used up the last trainer, we've gotten you a new one. This one is much more powerful and skilled," Kivi's mother, Rose, tells an 11 year old Kivi. She's a full on French woman.
"He goes by the name, Yuuto Reo," her father, Kanrou, says. He is half French and half Japanese. "He will be your new sensei. He's coming here all the way from Japan."
Both her parents have green eyes, so it was inevitable. The two Quacchio children both have their father's hair. Blue dominated the pink. Kivi was thankful for that at least. She would hate having that pink hair color. Of course, at the time she didn't even know she had real hair or their eyes.
"He'll be here in an hour. Be presentable and ready to train," Rose says, eyes as cold as ever.
"Yes, ma'am," Kivi responds.
(My parents never typically do back ground checks on who they hire to train me. If they're strong, that's all that mattered to them. If the trainer wanted to kill me, I'd have to handle it myself. That never happened though. My parents believed if I couldn't protect myself after all my training, I wasn't worth it.)
All for One, or Yuuto sensei, arrived as scheduled and they went right into training. Kivi thought he'd be easy to take down, as his face was completely destroyed, but he continuously knocked her down.
"You're very powerful. I could definitely use someone of your power," he tells her.
"For a hero agency?" Kivi asks.
"Ah, yes," he answers. "Now, use your quirk this time."
"I wanna know what happened to your face," Kivi says.
"A villain on the same level of power as myself did this to me," he answers.
(We fought and trained. He would only train me for exactly 2 hours everyday except weekends. His health would act up if he went any longer. He would leave back to Japan through Kurogiri's warp gate. At the time, I thought that was his quirk. I quickly realized he had more later on.)
2 years had passed, and Kivi started to get suspicious of her new sensei. He seemed evil. She did her research into him, discovering the name he used wasn't anyone.
(I warned my parents, but they obviously didn't believe me and didn't care. So, I confronted him about it.)
"I know you aren't who you say you are," Kivi says, one day after practice. "I know you aren't a hero. I know it was All Might who you fought to make your face look like that."
"Oh? A clever one, aren't you? And what are you gonna do about it?"
"There's not really anything I can do about. My parents don't believe me," Kivi says. "I just wanna know why? Why train me?"
"Because you're powerful."
"I know you're able to take quirks. Why not just take mine?"
"Because you're much more useful as you are."
"With my power, you could heal yourself. Why haven't you asked me to heal you?"
"I don't need it."
"Obviously you do."
(After that, the trainings became more torturous. I don't even have the scars to prove it because my quirk just heals me.)
Flashback end.
"Then the day came where he stumbled through the portal and forced the ghost quirk onto me," Kivi says, breathing a little heavily. "I-I remember seeing... seeing a terrifying demon before blacking out then awaking in the center of a destroyed and burning Paris, surrounded by heroes... detaining me... and looking like this."
"So Lunox is?"
"L-Lunox is the demon... who's taken... over my r-real self," Kivi shakily says. "She... She overpowered me. She haunts me in my nightmares, t-telling me what she's gonna do and how she's gonna... take over the world."
"And that's obviously hard on you," All Might says, noticing the beginning sighs of a panic attack. She still is a child after all.
"A-All Might...?"
"Yeah?"
"I know this is... a w-weird and random re... request but... but I could r-really use a hug..."
He immediately pulls her in, hoping to calm her shaking form. She begins to shake less and less until her breaths even out. He didn't expect for her to fall asleep though.
Her panthers walk up, nudging their owner. She doesn't wake.
"All Might?" a voice calls out. "What are you doing here?"
All Might turns at the new voice, spotting the lavender haired boy. "Ah, Shinso! Didn't hear you arrive!"
"I get that a lot." He notices Kivi in his arms. "What's wrong with Kivi?"
"She fell asleep after a mini panic attack," All Might exclaims.
Hitoshi's eyes widen. "Panic attack?! Is... is she okay? How'd she have a panic attack?"
"You'll have to ask her yourself. I don't want to tell you anything she's uncomfortable with," All Might responds.
"Lunox..." Hitoshi mutters.
"She told you?"
"A little bit, but she's not told me everything... yet," he answers the retired pro. He moves over to take Kivi from All Might's grasp. "I'll take her to my dorm room."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Come on, Hades, Lucifer," Hitoshi calls to the panthers as he picks Kivi up in the princess hold.
All Might smiles at the two. "I'm glad you will be joining the hero course next year, young Shinso. You'll make a fine hero. I'm happy the two of you are great friends already. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, All Might," Shinso says, walking back to his dorm. The panthers seem to know the way and open the doors for him, much to his surprise. "Thank you."
The panthers give a quiet, "Rowl," in reply.
He gently sets her in the bed on the side closest to the wall, scooting in next to her and pulling the covers over them both. Hades and Lucifer curl up on the floor. Shinso watches her as she sleeps, not really tired himself.
"Goodnight, Kivi."
Kivi rolls over and curls into him. "Good... night... Hitoooshiiii..." She yawns, seemingly passing out again.
Hitoshi gives a little smile down at her, wrapping an arm over her and contently falling asleep.
...
Kivi is awoken by an alarm. She groans, not wanting to get up and snuggled down into the warmth. A chuckle from underneath her fully awakens her.
"You comfy there?"
She blinks up at the owner of the voice, seeing the lavender hair, and closes her eyes again. "Very much so." She yawns. "Why am I here?"
"You fell asleep in All Might's arms after a small panic attack," he answers. "I took you here."
"Why not mine?"
"I don't know how to get to your dorm, and I didn't feel like it."
"Valid point," Kivi replies. "Let's skip and sleep in. You're comfy."
"We go to the number one hero school in Japan, it's best we go."
"Yeah..."
He slides out from underneath her weight as she groans in protest. "You should go get ready."
"I don't wanna," she groans, reaching her hand out towards him. "Come baaack..."
He strips off his shirt and flings it at her. "Put that on, it's cold outside. I can't believe you were outside with only a tank top and shorts. It's snowing, what's wrong with you?"
She huffs but pulls the shirt on, enjoying his smell and watching him get into his school uniform. "Everything, but what's new?"
He rolls his eyes and looks to her, seeing her eyeing him. "Like what you see?"
"Obviously or I wouldn't be looking. You've gotten really muscled," she responds, sitting up. "You're not getting this shirt back."
"I'll come find you if you don't."
"And you'll what?"
He hums, picking up a hair tie. "I'll think of something." He pins his hair back.
He grins as he looks her up and down.
She returns it. "Like what you see?"
"Touché. I like seeing you in my shirt."
"Yeah, I could make so many sexual jokes at that, but I'll keep to myself. I'm too tired to retort," Kivi yawns again.
"Riight." He uses some hairspray to get his hair up right before pulling out the ponytail.
"So that's how you do your hair," Kivi thinks aloud.
"How'd you think I did it?"
She shrugs. "I'm hungry and gotta pee."
He gets his bag and puts it over his shoulder. "Food's downstairs."
"I gotta go get Eri and Akiba ready for the day anyway, so I can't stay." She jumps on his back. "Carry me?"
"You can walk yourself."
"MMm, think of it as... weight training."
"I'll think of it as... you're lazy."
"Fair enough."
She rests her head against his back as they head downstairs. She slides off his back as they get to the common room.
"Uh, Shinso?" a boy with reddish brown hair calls out.
"Who's that?" a dirty blonde girl asks.
Kivi grins, taking up the opportunity. "Thanks, Hitochan. I had fun last night, let do it again sometime." She moves up to his cheek to give a quick peck before leaving the general department dorms.
"WhAT!?"
"Little shit..." Shinso mutters with a ghost of a smile.
"Shinso! You shouldn't be doing things like that!" a black haired boy shouts.
"Calm down. She's messing with you all. We didn't do anything but sleep."
"We didn't know you were dating the strongest in the school!"
"She's the strongest in the school?" Shinso questions.
"She took down the Big 3!"
"Hmm, and we aren't dating. We're just friends."
