Chapter 20
Aquarius wakes up when the sunlight shines into her window
It's time we head back today.
She was a little worried about this plan it might not work right. They recently got somebody new onto her side and she was the youngest out of them all. Aquarius felt the need to act like a big sister for Libra but she knew she couldn't.
Aquariums gets up and steps over Crowlere careful to not disturb his beauty sleep or step on his sprawled out wings. Aquarius always thought he looked adorable when he slept on his back. She couldn't help but smile from it.
Aquarius makes her way to the balcony where she sees what the city looks like in the morning. The sun was just peeking up the horizon making the world burst with hues of purples and oranges. The tall buildings she was surrounded by, reflected these colors making it even more radiant. Like everything was made of thousands of crystals. Aquarius hadn't seen anything more beautiful. She notices the same amount of ships flying around though, guessing the city never slept.
Her small clan had to leave a.s.a.p. today, she knew they had to re-supply and they had to ride the Gobi back home. Hopefully the city will have more than one of them around.
Aquarius decides to take matters into her own hands and head downstairs. She sees some creatures walk by her they looked rather similar to jellyfish but with eyes and less gelatinous. Aquarius felt her skin crawl from the beings she was quite uncomfortable from them.
She had to find a way of contacting Circe she had to be around somehow or be able to hear Aquarius. She walks to the left of the hallway heading after those jellyfish beings maybe there was a way down from there. As she was walking, Aquarius began to take notice of the décor of the hallway it was just as nice as the Atlantan palace. The walls were a light yellow gold color with small intricate metal scrollwork reaching the ceiling like vines growing up a trellace. She listened to the silence, the walls were rather thick while her metal boots clicked on the dark wood grain floor. It felt peaceful, but yet on the outside of these walls it was chaotic.
She makes it to a set of metal doors it confused her they didn't even have any handles to open them yet their design was not like anything she's ever seen. What do I even do here?
A dinging sound was made out of nowhere and a tall skinny man walked out of the metal doors as they opened. Aquarius took this as her que and slid inside the box behind the doors. The air inside was warm and stuffy as the doors slid shut behind her. Aquarius looks around at the small walls. "It's claustrophobic in here. " the box didn't move or anything it just sat there waiting to be used. Aquarius didn't know what to do so she began banging on the door. "LET ME OUT PLEASE! I'M STUCK!" after a couple of minutes she throws herself in the corner in front of the panel full of circles and begins to think of some way of getting out of this box. Did people come in here to sit and think? Was it just a place to get away from the world? Aquarius didn't know the use of this contraption. She hears a rumble and suddenly feels her stomach drop. Was this how it worked? Aquarius stands up and looks around, she notices some of the circles on the wall were lit up.
The machine opens it's door on the ground level in a huge elegant lobby strung with a black chandelier and decorated in reds and greys. It reminded Aquarius of Virgo's palace except in red and not the cool colors chosen for the palace. She felt ashamed for panicking about nothing.
Aquarius makes her way out onto the streets where she sees a silhouette of Crowlere jump off the top balcony and swoop down towards her. She notices the street was bustling with all sorts of human-like creatures all exchanging some sort of money for goods.
Aquarius goes to the large building located on the end of the street. She notices a large grand statue of Circe in the center of some fountains. Aquarius gapes in awe at the majesty and intricacy in the statue carving every detail looked like it was going to reach out and grab her. She noticed that the statue hand were positioned as if she was holding the sun making her look heavenly.
Aquarius walks up to the doors of the building and opens them. The inside of the building was just as grand as the outside, it was lavish and decorated in silver mixed with hues of green and warm tones of orange. There was ahuge chandelier that dwarfed the one back in Queen Virago's palace making hers look like a sconce. Aquarius corrects herself from slouching, her intuition was telling her that Circe was more influential than Queen Virgo or King Picies.
Just as Aquarius makes her way to a door at the end of the corridor, she is blocked by two tall guards clad in armor. They hold out their swords at her face. Aquarius sighs and pushes the tip of the blade away from her face
"Woah! Woah! Woah! I'm here to see Circe."
The guards speak to her in a language she couldn't understand, and they shove their swords more threat-fully in her face.
Aquarius motions with her arms, they must know she didn't feel threatened by a sword she's been too desensitized.
"I am. Here. to. see. Circe. CIRCE."
The guards speak to her threateningly again then grab her by both arms as if they were arresting her.
"Hey I just said I'm not here on- "
Just as they walk closer to the lavish door Aquarius was making her way to they drag her off to the left. Aquarius sighs. She tries to kick free from their grasp remembering the combat moves she was taught but they were, stronger, stalkier, and... completely different from Atlantian guards.
"Where are you taking me?"
The guards tighten their grips on her arms. She tries more forcefully to kick free.
"Let me go!" Aquarius yells as she wedges her feet on a door frame and pushes backwards. They grab her legs, throw her through the door and slam the door shut.
"Gah!"
Aquarius looks around wondering what did she just get herself into.
