Chapter 3
"The Rager"
Rebekah and I were out of town.
She was sad and angry because of Klaus snapping her neck, so I took her out of Mystic Falls to distract her. When we returned, we found out the council was blown out. Shocking. I know.
As Rebekah was exiled from Klaus' home and she didn't like my small place, she compelled her own mansion and to show off and to let everyone know about her new home, she decided to throw a party, daring the students of the high school to ignore the new curfew set in town.
Rebekah was insisting for me to go, to be moral support and that also included dragging me to the school, forcing me to enroll as a student.
To say I wasn't pleased, was an understatement

"Seriously?" I whined as Rebekah dragged me to the school
"Yes" Rebekah drawled, leading me toward the office "You have to. Don't you think it would be suspicious that you aren't here when you're sixteen?"
"But I'm not!" I replied childishly.
Rebekah turned to face me, amused "You look like one. Not everyone knows we're some kind of immortal. Don't act like a crying baby"
I rolled my eyes, scoffing "Fine. Whatever. But don't expect me to behave"
Rebekah smiled, "I wouldn't expect more than that"
Rebekah flipped her hair, hitting me in the face, turning around, walking away.
I sighed in annoyance, walking inside the office, walking closer to the secretary, smiling fakely "Morning"
The secretary smiled, "Good morning, darling"
"I'm Klarysse Masen" I told her, giving her some papers about my fake identity "I just moved here with my cousin, Rebekah"
The secretary nodded, "Ah, Miss Mikaelson. Got it" she read through the files, frowning "Miss Massen. This information is incomplete. Your immunization records aren't here and there are some missing information as well"
I leaned forward, meeting her eyes "Check again, I'm sure everything is in there"
I paused, waiting for the compulsion to sink in her, looking down at my papers slightly dazed off, smiling apologetically "Oh, I'm sorry. Everything's indeed here. Age is probably getting to me already"
I smirked inwardly.
"Yeah, it's a shame" I told her sarcastically.
The secretary gave me a schedule "Here's your schedule. Your locker number will be between those papers, and you'll need to give this slip to all of your teachers to sign before each class to make sure everything is in order. Have a nice day"
"Thank you" I told her, turning around, walking away from the office in annoyance.

On my way to my new locker, I found Rebekah handing some flyers to her party, sighing, walking closer
"So I'm throwing a little anti-curfew party at my new house" Rebekah told them, smiling "Starts in the fifth period, goes to whenever. Spread the word"
"So you were serious?" I asked, joining her as she continued handing flyers.
Rebekah repeated the motive of her party one more time to other girls, walking away, giving me a flyer. I looked down at it in confusion
"Of course I was serious" Rebekah told me. "And you have to go, you're family, you have to support me"
"You have to stop guilt tripping me" I replied, scrunching the flyer into a small paper ball, throwing it away "Besides you know parties aren't my thing. I get annoyed easily, and usually someone ends with their throat ripped out"
Rebekah chuckled "It wouldn't be a party without someone dying. You and Kol made it very clear through the years"
I sighed "Fine. Maybe I'll go" I looked down at my schedule, scowling "I have to get to this stupid math class"
"Have fun" Rebekah smiled, walking inside a classroom where I heard Stefan and Elena and Elena talking.
"I'll try to" I told her sarcastically, walking away, down the hall.

One I found my locker, I began shoving my empty bag inside, pausing when I sensed someone coming closer, smirking slightly once I recognized the scent.
"It's not smart to sneak upon a vampire, you know that right?" I asked chuckling
"What are you doing here, Klarysse?" Jeremy asked
I turned around, closing my locker, leaning against it "That's a good question. Repeat it to me after chemistry. That's when I'll know what I was thinking on coming here"
Jeremy looked unamused, crossing his arms "Really"
I raised a brow, "I was bored, okay? I needed a nice source of entertainment. What better place than school full of idiotic teenagers full of angst?" I began walking pass him. Jeremy landed his hand in my arm, stopping me. I looked down at his hand in amused curiosity "If I were one of my cousins, your hand would have already been separated from your body at the end of the hallway"
"But you're not them" Jeremey told me, sarcastically.
I jerked my arm back, glaring at him "I'm not" Jeremy frowned. I sighed in annoyance, crossing my arms "What do you want? If you're here to remind me to behave, relax. I'm not killing anyone" I paused, sarcastically "Yet"
Jeremy scoffed, "Need I remind you I know how you guys die? Don't kill anyone. I mean it"
"Relax, dad" I drawled out, rolling my eyes, "I'm not in the mood to kill anyone"
"Keep that mood" Jeremy told me.
I mock saluted.
A man walking down the end of the hallway caught our attention, looking toward him. A frown played on my lips as the scent of vervain caught my nostrils
"Huh" I tilted my head aside curiously "I heard there was a hunter in town. How are you dealing with that?"
Jeremy didn't take his eyes away from the man, "We're still working on it"
I twirled a strand of my hair, "He's too obvious. If he thinks old vampires aren't aware of him, he's an idiot"
Jeremy looked at me surprised, pointing at the man, "Wait. How did you know it was him?"
"He reeks of vervain" I answered, rubbing my wrist unconsciously "Something you can tell apart from other scents when you're used to it"
Jeremy raised his eyebrows in curiosity. "And you are"
I didn't answer, watching the man walking closer. I began walking away, "That's my cue. See you in class, probably"
"What?" Jeremy asked, chuckling "Scared of one hunter?"
I made a face, turning to face him "More like annoyed. They're little pests I've worked with in the past. They think they are invincible which makes them arrogant"
"You've worked with hunters?" Jeremy asked
I smirked, "I'm not only a pretty face, Gilbert. I'm a hunter too"
Jeremy looked unconvinced but didn't voice his thoughts, nodding.
I turned to walk away, heading to a classroom when I heard the hunter and Jeremy talking. Curiosity made me look over my shoulder, seeing them walked inside a classroom. I frowned. What are you up to, darling?
Stefan and Elena's conversation caught my attention, turning to them, seeing Elena visibly upset storm inside the bathroom, leaving Stefan alone.
I rushed in front of him to make him stop. "Hello, Love"
Stefan jumped in surprise seeing me here, "Klarysse?"
"Schoool, I know" I replied, "Rebekah's idea" Stefan rolled his eyes, starting to walk around me. I stopped in front of him again, crossing my arms sternly "Don't. If you care even a little about Gilbert's smallest hair, you'll stop walking" Stefan glared at me, trying to walk away but I grabbed his wrist, twisting it making him groan in pain as I pushed him against a locker, grabbing his throat, "Want me to say please? I said 'Don't'"
"What do you care?" Stefan asked, struggling against my grip.
"I don't" I answered, "But if you go jumping there like this without a smart plan, you'll kill yourselves and I won't get to listen why this hunter's here and why he blew up an entire hating vampires club like the council. I wan to know what we're dealing with. Don't you, ripper?"
Stefan stopped struggling making me smirk, letting him go, watching him heal as we got closer to the classroom Jeremy and the hunter were at, leaning against the door. I was curious about the Hunter's sudden interest in Jeremy and I wanted to know why.
"What are you, a social worker?" Jeremy asked "Why do you care?"
"Because you saw this" The hunter answered
There was pause before Jeremy replied, which made me and Stefan exchange a look "It's a tattoo. Big deal"
"No" The Hunter replied. "I call this a hunter's mark, as in vampire hunter"
I looked up in recognition, eyes widening in surprise, glancing toward the door, seeing Jeremy facing the hunter. The Hunter had his back toward us.
"Uh, a vampire hunter?" Jermey asked, feigning surprise, laughing nervously "Heh. Look, I'm sorry, man, but... "
"Jeremy, I know your family's history in this town" The hunter told him, annoyed "So you playing dumb just make you look dumb"
Jeremy looked at us over the Hunter's shoulder, nodding
"Why the show and tell?" Jeremy asked "I don't even know you"
"Because it's invisible to anyone but another hunter or potential hunter" The hunter answered "Find me a vampire. I'll train you; teach you how to do what I do. I'm on Hudson, off route 13. Don't show up unless you find one"
I bit my fingernail, now knowing what we were dealing with.
"Well, how am I supposed to do that?" Jeremy asked
"Why don't you start by asking your friend with the bandage on his neck?" The hunter asked
The Hunter turned around to leave. Before he did so, Stefan and I were long gone, going opposite directions

As I made my way home, I called Klaus to tell him about our little predicament who told me about their little plan to get rid of him when I saw Jeremy and the Hunter walking together
"Jeremy?" I called out, timidly. Jeremy turned, eyes widening in surprise. The Hunter looked at me suspiciously "Uh, forget it. You seem busy"
Jeremy shifted uncomfortably "What is it, Klary?"
I pretended to blush, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear, chuckling nervously "Well, you're one of the only people I know at school and being new around here in town, I thought I could ask you a tour or something but, never mind. It was a crazy idea anyway" I rambled, fidgeting awkwardly, widening my eyes slightly in innocence, "I'll se you tomorrow. Yeah, that's better"
I turned around, feigning embarrassment while a tiny smirk played on my lips as soon as my back was to them.
"Who is she?" The Hunter asked
"Klarysse Massen" Jeremy answered. "She's new into town and totally a klutz. She looked lost and I wouldn't want to make her feel worse than she already is. Let me talk to her for a minute and I'll be back"
The Hunter hesitated, "Alright. But hurry up"
"Klary!" Jeremy called out, walking closer. I stopped, turning to face him "Wait!"
"Jeremy?" I exclaimed in surprise "What is it?"
"You needed it my help right?" Jeremy asked
I glanced over his shoulder at the hunter, seeing he wasn't looking at us.
My innocent facade faded, giving him a disapproving look "What the bloody hell are you doing? I had to find out from Klaus that you're planning to kill this hunter"
"It's not your business" Jeremy replied
I sighed in frustration, "It is. You don't know what you're dealing with. You need my help with this certain hunter"
"Why?" Jeremy asked
"Because I know exactly who he is" I answered "And I made it my business a long time ago to deal with either of them whenever they showed up. They're dangerous"

Jeremy reluctantly told me the plan to kill the Hunter.
I found Klaus inside the hospital, walking toward him
"Hello, love" Klaus greeted without turning to face me
"Where's he?" I asked
"In that storage room" Klaus answered, starting to walk toward the storage room "Follow me, sweetheart"
When we reached the room, we found the Hunter stabbed with an arrow and Damon in front of him, smugly.
The Hunter knelt to pick up his gun but got stabbed by another arrow that was attached to a bomb
"Stings, doesn't it?" Damon asked
The Hunter was about to pick up his gun again but Klaus pushed it away with his leg
"Hello, mate" Klaus told him.
The Hunter looked at him angrily. I stepped up, next to Klaus, smiling at the Hunter who seemed surprised and angry
"Hello, again" I said with a sweet smile
The hunter looked at Damon.
Damon smiled
~8~
The hunter, Connor was still blocked by the arrows.
Damon, Klaus and I were still with him
"Keep it up, buddy" Damon told him. "We'll be scraping you off the ceiling"
"You three are gonna kill me anyway" Connor replied. He looked at me "I should have known you were one of them, you looked too innocent to be true"
"Klarysse innocent?" Klaus repeated in amusement "You haven't seen her without emotions"
"We're not gonna kill you" I told him smiling, ignoring Klaus "Yet"
"I feel like we're just getting to know each other" Klaus agreed
"Start with the basics" Damon told him "Where are you from? What do you know? Maybe you can cue me in on this greater evil, because I've fought this guy, and there's nothing more evil than that" Damon pointed at Nik
"Yeah" Klaus agreed "Truth be told, I'm as evil as it gets"
"I'm not telling you anything" Connor told us. "You think if you kill me, it's gonna be over? There's--"
"Another waiting to take your place" I interrupted, waving a hand in boredom "I know"
Klaus looked at me curiously. I smiled innocent. Wait for it, darling cousin. Wait for it.
"See, this is what I like to hear" Damon told him "Vague threats, ominous prophecies, disappearing tattoos"
Klaus frowned "What do you mean, 'tattoo'?"
"Don't bother" I answered, looking at Klaus pointedly. "You can't see the bloody thing"
Klaus stared at Connor curiously "There's more to you than meets the eye, isn't there?" I huffed silently, realizing Klaus hadn't caught up yet, leaning against the doorframe, looking at my fingernails. Connor tried to stake Nik but he was faster, catching his arm, "Nice try, but I'm faster than your average vampire" Klaus twisted his wrist, taking the stake, looking at the symbol carved in recognition, looking up at me in realization. I smirked, nodding. Klaus looked at Connor "You're one of the five"
Damon looked between us, confused "The what?"
"I'm faster than the average hunter" Connor told us, setting the bomb off making the room explode
Damon rushed away,
We rushed outside but not before Klaus grabbed Connor
~8~
Thanks to Connor, Klaus had a new set of plans for Elena which is why when Stefan called for his blood, he didn't deny to help them. Connor's arrival made me nervous and I knew if Kol was here would share the same sentiment.
Every fiber of my body was telling me to kill Connor and get rid of the five for good but, I knew if Connor was gone, Jeremy was taking his place. I wanted to end the Five for good, knowing without them the vampire race was safe. All of us were safe.
Hopefully, they'll realize the same Kol and I have worked for years to keep buried to keep everyone safe.
