The Cave

The next day Kasumi had shocked Yuu at what she had found before living with them, it was what looked to be an huge cave. The two girls started to go inside, with Kasumi using her fire to give them light to walk around with.

Yuu was unsure if they should go any deeper in the cave, they never told her mother about their plan. She had always told her mother what she was doing or where she was going, this was first time she didn't do that. She looked back before trying to see if they could just back out of the plan or they could tell her mother before doing it.

"It will be fine, you have me here." The fire cat claimed.

"Sure, just don't get us lost in here." She said before following after her still unsure of doing it.

The cave slowly turned into two paths, they slowly took the right path unsure of what it was going to take them. They just did know they were enjoying seeing the drawings on the walls, even if they had no clue what they were about. Some were of large dragon looking things and others were of things with horns and walked on two legs, the drawing turned into what looked like a huge fight.

They got to new part that split into three ways, they had chosen to go down the middle path. Still not sure how a cave could be this big like this, she looked to see humans with feather looking wings flying towards the dragons. These drawings also looked to be faded from how old they were, they just started to touch the drawings. Both girls were so lost in enjoy of the art that they didn't even notice that they were deeper into the cave.

Before Yuu known it, she slipped on the ground due to it becoming slanted, slopping down into the deeper darkness. She started to slip down the path leaving Kasumi all along with their main source of light. When she finally stopped she just rubbed her rear but was unable to see anything, just darkness. She did know her mother had showed her how to use her foxfire yet she never really was able to do it.

She did her best but failed, after good amount of tries she was able to just make one tiny ball of blue fire to see. She was holding it with her dear life while trying to look around, she was scared that she was all alone. She was scared that no one would find her, she just started to walk forward because the way back was too much of slop to climb back up. Her little scared eyes looked around and hope nothing would jump out at her.

She slowly could see drawings on the wall about a massive size dragon, she did not know what it meant just that he was scary. She did notice that it was fighting against everything on its own, something about this dragon scared her. It looked nothing like Izzephoss, this dragon had looked so much different in a dark way.

She did her best to be brave and keep walking on, even if she was scared about being in there. She did not even know which path to take when she got to the next part that split into two ways again. She just took the right one, slowly walking yet she started to hear sounds. Sounds that scared her, because it meant she was no longer around in this cave.

When she got closer, she could see light coming off in the corner of the path. She slowly wondered if it was Kasumi which caused her to rush over there. When she got around the corner she noticed it wasn't her and that alone scared her even more.

She could see there was an woman walking down the path, she had two long curved horns on top of her head along with two dog like black fur ears. Long black hair that went down her back towards her rear, her body was almost hourglass in shape while being built up. She had two slit crimson dark eyes along with being dressed in black shorts and black tight tank top that hugged against her body. Her breasts weren't too big nor were they too small neither just fit her body perfectly.

She also had a spike leather collar around her neck, she also looked to be younger than her mother yet at the same time older than Yuu. Her nose started to sniff before she slowly looked over at Yuu, unsure to why this fox was even here.

"Why are you here? Tell me before I have to hurt you little one." The woman's voice was harsh something she wasn't used to hearing.

"I just was here with friend and fall down deeper into the cave, don't hurt me please!" She looked down right scared back at the other woman.

"Cave, this isn't no cave unless there another way out I never found yet." The woman slowly walked over to Yuu. "You don't need to be scared, I won't hurt you, ok?" She stopped to look at the little girl, she didn't want see her look that scared because of her. Something about her made her softer side show which was very rare.

"Ok...Who are you?" Yuu asked this time, while noticing her long black fur tail that had flames on the end of it.

"I do not have a name you can call me, yet only name I can give you is my race. My race is called Hellhounds and we are dog like race that can breathe fire, also have flaming tail as you may have noticed." She spoke, which Yuu found it to be sad to not have any name for yourself.

"Then I'll name you Akuma, why don't you come with us? It is better than being in this cave or whatever we may be in." She asked, slowly getting over being scared off by the hellhound.

"You really want give me a name, you are a strange one do you know that? Why aren't you scared of my horns or tail?" She asked, showing off her sharp fangs.

"My one mother also has horns, If I didn't like someone based on what you look like then I wouldn't be a nice person would I?" She titled her head while asking.

"Because hellhounds are normally disliked, people are scared of her and call us evil even if we aren't evil. It is strange to meet you and let me help you find your way back, I may not know the way but I do live in this cave as you call it. To me, this seems like more of a maze then some kind of cave." Akuma stated before taking her small hand.

She didn't know but this innocent girl was having an effect on her, she didn't know why yet she was glad. She was glad to meet someone that didn't scream and run away from her, someone that even gave her something no one has ever done before, she was given a name by Yuu.

"Your hands are so warm." She noticed the fur from her wrist to her elbow.

She also noticed fur from her knees down to her paw like feet, she thought they looked cute to her. She did know this woman really didn't seem like anything she had ever seen before, that was something interesting to her. She also had slightly darker skin but not too dark, more like a tan color.

"You are a strange one, but cute little girl." Akuma spoke while leading the fox home, or at least she was hoping it was the right way.

The two of them headed up going the wrong way, to the point that they looked at what could be best called an underground waterfall. Akuma didn't understand how this could even be underground yet she watched Yuu go up to it. She slowly made her way to Yuu before catching her just in time, the little fox almost falls off due to the wetness of the ground.

"Be carefully, you don't want fall all way down there. I won't be able to save you if you do, so let me hold you." She slowly picked up the little fox before looking down, she couldn't even see how far down it went due to the darkness.

Yuu was still scared from almost falling, she just lean into the hellhound's chest in order to calm down. She felt warm to him, it was almost calming the warmth that she was feeling. She slowly let herself fall asleep in Akuma's arms.

When she woke up she could feel that she was on some kind of poorly made man, she looked to see Akuma sitting on the ground. She just looked at her before her eyes slowly opened and looked back at her.

"You are in my home, I couldn't find your way out but once we rest up, we can try again. First thing we need to do is rest and maybe your family will come for you." Akuma said before she walked over to the girl before rubbing her head.

"I know mommy will find me, why were you on the ground?" She asked.

"I didn't want you to get upset if I was staring my bed with you, so I figured I would sleep sitting up for now." She gave the honestly answer.

"I share my bed all the time, so it is ok. You need rest too, don't you?" She innocently asked before moving over so she could lay down.

Akuma just smiled, yet she did not know what kind of world she came from just that she was glad there was some innocent left in the world. She moved to lay down and she did know she wanted to protect this little girl; she just never wanted her to stop being who she was. The one that gave her a name and same one that could make you smile due to her innocent self.

The two of them slowly let the darkness take them, to let themselves rest for tomorrow that would be even harder than today. They had to find their way out of this maze before that they needed to just survive just being down here.
