"Yuu, what do you think of the city so far? It just happens to be the safest place in the world, something I have done my best to keep it that way." He had asked her.

"I love the cakes, the one that makes the cakes is also a very nice person. The meanie that was outside, do not like him. No one is allowed to touch Akuma but me, not that evil man." Yuu said while she looked at her father.

"Well, you will be having more cake soon and maybe I will get a cake for everyone else for tonight's dinner. We cannot have you getting all filled up on cake before your birthday party now, can we?" Nyx added in.

"How about you tell me just what is your name? I do have to admit that I am, just a bit jealous of you right now. For my daughter to like your food that much, it is a very rare thing." Nyx asked over at the baker that was currently, bring them their cake.

"My name is Hana, i'm just a simple baker." Her tail was moving side to side while walking.

She placed the cake down before going over to her workplace to start working, she did know she had to try to find someway to save this place. She didn't want all that to go for nothing, for Yuu to risk her life like that.

"Cake, I always want cake from now on." Yuu stated.

"No, too much cake isn't good for your body but we will make sure this place stays open for good. We won't let it close down before you come back here again, that something we could do for you little one." Nyx told her, she refused to let her daughter eat too much sweets.

"Wait, does that mean?" Hana could not even finish speaking.

"Yea, your baker will not shut down and I will help cover the costs as long as you put in the hard work to keep this place running. I do not support laziness, so as long as you aren't lazy then you will be taken care of." The king told her.

"My lord, you asked to see me?" A new voice spoke out of nowhere, which had  caused everyone to jump. It had even caused Nyx to jump a little bit because she was too focus on Yuu to notice this new person.

They all looked over where the voice came from, they could see someone wearing a long black robe to hide all of her body, her hood which caused her face to be hidden. Nyx didn't know who this was, nor did she know what her husband was plotting.

"There you are, I was wondering when you finally would find me Yuki. This is the one I have told you about, one you will be looking after when she comes of age." Tenania spoke in a friendly manner to her.

She slowly took off the robe to show that she was just like Yuu, she was a kitsune yet at same time she was different kind. She had two snow white ears and long white tail, her slit eyes were blue in color. She looked to be around seventeen years old and had body that seemed almost like it was made to be perfect shape. She wasn't too built from all her training yet at the same time she still had her feminine look about her.

She had what looked to be pair of black pants and blue tight shirt show that showed off her cleavage to the world, which was very large size to boot. She had thought the princess would be older than she was yet she did wish she was told her age before picking out the outfit.

"Do not worry my lord, I will make sure she is very well looked after." She glanced over at the hellhound before her eyes moved to Yuu. She moved over to greet the little young before she patted her on the head. "I'll be taking good care of you once you start living in this city, till then we will be best friends ok?" She asked, her voice filled with sweetness while speaking in a shy matter.

"Akuma already looks after me, she is going to be here with me forever. It is nice to meet new friends, but I already got best friend, her name is Akuma." She spoke back to Yuki, before she started to move her head back into Akuma's large chest.

"That may be true sweetie for now, but it is my duty which was given to me by your father to look after you as well. She may be good at taking care of you back home, but that isn't same as when you are here." She stopped for an moment while hearing hellhound growl.

"That is because when you get older, you will be living here which means many things will change for you. By that I mean that you will have new duties to act on as the princess of this city. Sadly, she won't be able to help you with these duties like I can, that is why I have been appointed to aid you." She spoke, trying not to glare over at hellhound.

"If Akuma isn't one with me when I come here, then I won't come here. I want go home now mommy." She looked over at mother, not even caring about the cake anymore.

"Sweetie, I know things will change in the future but this is your home when it comes to you being that age of sixteen." Nyx sadly told her daughter.

"Then I just run away! I will not let anyone replace Akuma, because this is my life! This is my life and not one to be controlled by anyone." Yuu hopped off Akuma and rushed out of the baker, running as fast as she could while running aimless.

"Yuu..." Akuma said as she quickly moved out of the chair.

"We need to talk husband and Akuma go find her, believe it or not this isn't what I want for my daughter.' Nyx stated before looking over her husband, she dropped the fake happy mask she was wearing. Her eyes showed clear angry at what her husband was trying to do, something she refused to allow.

Akuma rushed out of the place, using her nose to track down the little fox. She refused to let herself be replaced, she also refused to let Yuu be sad even if it meant one day that she would have to say goodbye to her.

Yuki was about to go looking for Yuu yet she was grabbed by Nyx, she looked to see the leader of kitsune race glaring over at her. "You stay, I do not repeat myself even for one of my own kind. So, if I, were you? I would not assess my patience little girl or you will see why I was once known as one of the terrors of the world."

"Her job is to look after Yuu, to be her helper. There is no reason for this nor is there reason for Yuu to be running away like this. Yuu needs to listen better and understand she has the duty of being the princess, this isn't a playground for her nor for you." Tenania pointed out to his wife.

"You forget dear, she is of my blood and of my power. You take away her freedom and happiness, then what is there to stop her from burning this city to the ground when she grows stronger enough?" She stopped speaking only for a moment to glare at her husband.

"She genuinely cares deeply for Akuma even if she a hellhound, so be it because that is her choice not yours. You do not get to choose how my daughter lives her life, if she wants Akuma to keep her safe so be it. Also, remember our marriage was to unite the humans and monsters of the world." She stopped to gain some air while picking her next words to speak.

"You maybe the leader of this kingdom, yet do not think of a moment that I will let you cause my little angel to live in sadness. I may not be the best mother in the world, yet I do care for my daughter and nothing will ever change that. So, If I, was you? I would start walking very carefully because she is not someone you can use as a puppet with this fake best friend act." She finished before walking away from them.

"She does seem like someone that you have hard time keeping in line my lord, what should I be doing right now?" The snow kitsune asked.

"Find her, get her to realize that it is your job to protect her. I was the one that assigned you to her, so do not let me down." He spoke to her.

When Yuu finally let herself stop running, she found herself at what looked to be a place in the city that no one really went too, it was void of people. She looked around to see that it was almost empty save for what looked to be a huge statue.

This statue was made out of stone, and it looked like her mother, taking hand of a human man. She just walked up to it, she looked at it before sat down at her mother's stoned feet. She hated everything, yet she did not want to be forced to be apart from Akuma nor did she want to be stuck in this city forever.

She rolled up in a ball, just wanting to be alone with no one to bother her. She started to cry, no longer able to hold it all in anymore. She felt helpless and unable to make her own choices, the choices that she wanted to make for herself.

She wanted to always live in the forest with her family, with everyone she had met and cared about. These were the ones that honestly cared about her, that didn't want to use her for their own goals. She just wished that she could be happy, right there and then she was crying out of sadness. She didn't want to lose everything she cared about, she didn't want to lose Akuma out of everyone she had in her life.

After awhile of crying her eyes out that was when it starts to slowly rain, she just hugged herself even tighter. Soon she could hear foot steps she looked away, she didn't want to see who it was nor did she even care. She just frozen when she felt pair of hands touch her, she looked over to see it was Akuma that had found her. She just leaped into her arms before crying even more against the hellhound's chest.

The hellhound just picked her up and carried her away not even caring about the rain. She was currently heading to the place that everyone was staying at for the night. She did know this wasn't how she wanted the little fox to spend her birthday, she just wished people would let her be happy and live her own life.

When she got to the tavern, she noticed Izzephoss was waiting in the rain for her, she just walked inside yet before she could her nose picked something up. She turned around to see Yuki walking over to them, she started to hear growl leave the dragon's mouth.

"Nyx told me what happened, you dare show up here like this? I do not care what this king tells you to do, my daughter's life is hers to choice." Izzephoss stated before she gave Akuma wave of her hand to go inside.

Once Akuma was inside that as when Izzephoss turned her full attention over at the snow kitsune, she simply moved in front of the tavern's door. She would not allow this kitsune to ruin her daughter's life nor would allow the king to do as he pleased. She was an dragon after all, she would sooner fight for her daughter's happiness even if it cost her everything.

"I do know who you really are, my king has told me to show her that I am her helper. So, you need to step aside." Yuki said, she wasn't scared because she had known nothing could happen to her within the city walls.

Neither of them women cared for the light rain, to Izzephoss she enjoyed the rain, so standing out in it was something of a good feeling to her. Even so, she did know that she refused to allow this cunning fox to get anywhere near her daughter.

"Be careful how you speak to me little one, I do not care for laws or this king. If you do know who I am, then you know how hard it would be to kill me. I would get to you before anyone could stop me, so speak carefully." Izzephoss warned.

"Love, that is enough, she can go inside to talk but if she angry or upsets my daughter one more time. I'll be the one to toss her out of here, this tavern is owned by our friend, and no one is allowed to hurt Yuu." Nyx stated, leaning against the wall of the place.

"You forget, I know not look like it but I am one of the royal knights. He appointed me this duty and I will carry it out if you two like it or not. The truth of the world is that this is how life sometimes works. You can't always choice what you want in life, duties are important to keeping this city running peacefully." Yuki stated before walking inside, once Izzephoss finally gave in and moved to the side.

Once inside Yuki could see Yuu talking with Akuma, still sitting in her lap like she normally would do. She also could notice both Nixie and Kasumi, she wondered just how they all ended up together.

"Why are you here?" Akuma asked, not even bothering to look over at her.

"Because it is my duty as a royal knight, when I'm told to do something, I do it." Yuki simply stated back.

"I do not care, no one is taking Akuma away from me. I do not care what anyone has to say about it, this is my life no one else's life. If I have to be stuck here when I'm older, then Akuma is also stuck here with me." Yuu claimed before pushing her head harder against Akuma's chest.

"How about this, my sweet daughter. If they agree to allow Akuma to stay with you, then this knight will also be allowed there with you to help you in tasks?" Nyx asked while walking in.

'Fine, only if Akuma is allowed to stay with me also shares my room with me." She slyly looked over at her mother.

"I do not think they will allow that one to happen. That is simply because you are after all the princess of this city, and I am a hellhound." Akuma sadly pointed out.

"Do not care, my room which means my rules. You are my hound, or at least that what mommy keeps saying." Yuu's words caused Akuma to start deeply blushing red. "Are you ok, you look all red now." Yuu tiled her head to look up at her, innocent was best way to describe her.

"I'm fine, just feeling hot that's all." Akuma did her best to cover it up.

"You use flames for powers, how can you feel hot?" Yuu once again innocently asked.

"Now, now let the hound calm down. She did a lot of work looking for you, plus we still must celebrate your birthday." Nyx teased while at the same time trying to help the hellhound out.

"Yea, gifts for my birthday!" She joyful yelled.

They had spent next few hours enjoying themselves, Yuki mostly just watched her the whole time. Still unsure of how she would be able to handle the princess the way she was told to with that hellhound around her.

Later that night Yuu was laying beside Akuma before looking at her, "Is there something wrong Yuu?" The hound asked her, she just watched the little girl shake her head no.

"I just wanted to keep enjoying my time with you, that's all. You are a strange one yet that why I enjoy being close to you. Also the warm is very nice bonus, I will never feel cold when I'm near you." Yuu moved closer to her, to cuddle with the older woman.

"As long as I'm alive, I'll be by your side Yuu." She promised before holding the little fox in her arms.

Nyx closed Yuu's door after watching, she smiled because she was glad there would be someone in her daughter's life. She just slowly made her way back to her room, she did know time may be running out sooner or later. She just hoped that when the day finally showed itself, that her daughter's heart was ready for the moment.

When she got inside her room, she could see Izzephoss still up and just sitting on the bed with her eyes looking at her. She did know she felt sorry for her lover, she never wanted to cause this much trouble for anyone.

She agreed with the deal to help the monster races, yet in the end it was costing her family their happiness. That was something she never thought she would have to be facing, she never truly understood at the time what she would truly have placed at risk when she agreed to agreements.

"I know you don't want this to happen, I still refuse to let him ruin her life. If he does anything to hurt our daughter, then I will deal with him myself." Izzephoss made it perfectly clear to her lover how she felt.

"You do not need to tell me that because I won't be allowing him to hurt her, you should know better than to worry about that." She gave her a sad smile before going over to lay down on the bed. The two of them just stayed in silence while holding each other, both knowing that neither of them would never allow Yuu's life to be filled with sadness.
