chapter : five

"oh, are you following me?" raena asked as she noticed yoongi going up the stairs. she winked flirtatiously. "i knew i was irresistible."

"no...i'm a friend of taehyung," he said as if it was hard to admit.

"really?!" she asked looking as if she might jump up and down.

"yes," he sighed. he really wanted to die at this moment.

"so we'll actually get to know each other and i will finally get to know your name," she cheered as she presses the button to the speaker that would allow her to summon the kids. "hello?" as she waited for a response, she couldn't help but smile. another coincidence.

"raena??" the seven year old asked in excitement.

"yes, open the door please~!" she asked. she could just imagine him nodding when there was no response. she giggled. "they're cute right?" she turned to yoongi.

"um—"

the door opened revealing two little kids with chubby cheeks and tanned skinned. they resembled their brother a lot with the eyes and the same boxy smile. they were ready to jump into raena's arms before they saw yoongi. they screamed in excitement and ran over to him instead, leaving raena confused.

yoongi was attacked to the ground with the kids crawling on him.

"uncle yoongi!" they called him.

raena gasped and crossed her arms as her pride was bruised. they were supposed to hug me! and his name is yoongi??

yoongi allowed a smile to creep up on his face revealing his gums. he lifted his head up and tried to sit as best he can and let seohyun and jisoo hug him. he gently patted their heads and asked them how they were doing.

"hi kiddos," his gummy smile widening.

raena watched as he smiled, feeling butterflies in her stomach at seeing the usual grumpy yoongi in a different light for just a moment. his expression has changed so quickly it startled her. plus he had a pretty smile which sucks because she was changing her mind about being extremely friendly after they chose the him over her.

yoongi suddenly realized who else was here and glanced at her with an awkward expression. his smile had died down and he felt uncomfortable showing off his soft side in front a stranger. he absentmindedly patted the seven year old's hair and cleared his throat before sending a smug look raena's way.

she did a double take. is he enjoying this?

"s-shut up," she muttered all petty like, before he could say anything. he immediately chuckled revealing his killer smile. she almost flinched. she looked away. "can you stop that?"

the kids began to get up and run back inside, dragging yoongi with them.

"stop what?" he asked annoyance laced in his voice.

"smiling. it's annoying," raena frowned.

"oh because the kids chose me over you?" he scoffed. "why the hell is that annoying?"

raena's eyes widened and she was quick to cover his mouth with her hand. she caught a whiff of her cologne.  his eyes widened as they locked with hers and looked at her as if she was crazy.

"don't say hell in front of the children!"

he gently took her hand off his mouth so he wouldn't accidentally hurt the kids pulling him towards the door. he rolled his eyes. "it's not a bad word."

suddenly the four year old jisoo piped up, "it's a place!" finally pushing yoongi through the door and inside leaving raena shook.

"raena~why do you look so sad?" seohyun asked, pulling at her shirt. raena was slumped on to the couch watching cartoons with a frown. his big eyes looked up at her followed by a pout. "is it because we aren't playing with you?"

yes, that was part of it. she loved building LEGOS with them. but also, this job out of her other two, was the only when she felt she could do right. seokjin would yell at her, and make her feel like she isn't doing her job right when she does. but this job was naturally easy and she thought she had been the kids one true love besides taehyung. it hurts to know you have to share that with someone else. but she was more bummed than sad or angry. at least she got to see yoongi smile finally. that was all she really wanted in the beginning.

then she heard jisoo giggling like crazy and raena scoffed. "i'm fine seohyun, thank you. you can go back to playing with ugly yoongi."

seohyun gasped as if he had just heard a bad word.

letting go of her shirt, he ran towards his room where yoongi and the four year old were playing with LEGOS. the kids had begged yoongi to play with them a while after not seeing them for some time before writing with taehyung in his room.

"uncle yoongi! raena called you ugly!" he tattled, playing with his finger nervously.

yoongi looked up at the boy, shaking his head to remove the hair on his forehead. he sent him a smile, internally rolling his eyes at the news he was hearing.

"oh really? well what do YOU think seohyun? am i UGLY?" he asked loud enough for raena to hear. the four year old below laughed at his loud voice while adding a block to her tower. seohyun shook his head laughing and joined them in their building.

raena crosses her arms against her chest as she looked around the house. she was going to have fun with the kids today but yoongi jsut had to ruin it. the ugly stranger (even though he wasn't ugly, even if his smile was killer, he was beating her in a game almost).

listen to them...laughing without me. traitors, she thought.

"YOU KNOW WHAT?" she yelled as she got up from the couch, " I'm going to see how tae is doing!"

she marched to his room and opened the door without knocking and there he was at his desk writing on his music sheets for his next performance. he hadn't even noticed her come in.

"hi tae tae!" she exclaimed, pulling up a chair besides him and lay her head on her palm.

tae's eyebrows raised as he acknowledged her. he flashed her a cute boxy smile and put down his pencil.

"hi rae rae," he sang with his deep voice, sending her a flirty wink.

raena shut her eyes for a brief second to enjoy the sound of his voice.

"you have such a beautiful voice," she confessed, opening her eyes to see him chuckling. "speaking of which. why didn't you use that voice of yours to tell me you were friends with yoongi or that you had any friends at all? he tells me he helps you with music and i've never seen him before in my life. and he had no idea who i am either, tae, which means you aren't telling people about your awesome friend, raena. by the way did you see his smile? i've never seen someone with such a smile." she gasped, trying to catch her breathe.

taehyung ran a hand through his hair and stretched before responding.

"i've always known him since i was a kid. we used to be in a small band in highschool but it didn't really work out. he gave up on music due to...reasons, and obviously i haven't. but he supports me. he's my biggest fan," taehyung explained, tan arms across his chest.

raena nodded then suddenly slapped his arm.

"how come i've never seen him before?" she asked, upset that her friend had never introduced them.

"ow!" he chuckled. "because! well you and i just met and the last time he visited only a few times the past two months. you're always too busy with the kids you don't really come to my room to watch me work on music. he usually gets here way before you do--his sleeping schedule is a mess--and he only comes every once in a while. he's got a life too. i just don't know why he got here at the same time as you today."

"whatever," raena shrugged. suddenly she gasped remembering something, "do you happen to know where he shops?"

taehyung raised a suspicious brow at her and began laughing, "rae rae, what did you do?"

she sheepishly chuckled and shrugged as if it was nothing, "so i accidentally fell asleep on his shoulder and drooled on his shirt. BUT before you say anything i promise to buy him a new one. but that stubborn ugly looking yoongi isn't  having it! he won't let me have anything to do with him. and on top of that, he stole the kids from me!" she crossed her arms again, frowning.

taehyung snorted then ruffled her hair and quickly caressed her chin before sending her off.

"that sounds like a you problem. so...," he said sheepishly as raena shook her head in disbelief and began to take her cue to leave, "thanks my love, send in yoongi, will ya?"

"send in yoongi my butt!" she hissed under her breathe, crossing her arms.

suddenly, she bumped into a figure. she frowned as she looked up to see yoongi. (well, looked up is an overstatement, she didn't have to look that far, he was the same height as her).

he crossed his arms and gave her a questioning look, "what about me and your butt?" he began to smirk, revealing a bit of his gummy smile, something he never does unless he feels he as an advantage.

okay just because the kids like you more than me doesn't mean you have to be so confident.

raena's eyes popped out of its socket at that, and shook her head.

"you're disgusting!"

"i didn't even say anything!"

"but you were going to!"

"no i wasn't!"

"you're the one who came to me!"

"you bumped into me you idiot!"

raena gasped dramatically and then stomped her foot loudly. with a frown, she leaned closer to his face, not caring at how much he backed away.

"tae summons you," she simple said then stomped her foot again, meaning to hit his foot but she missed terribly, then walked away to find the kids.

__

yoongi shook his head as he watched the girl walk away. that was the most ridiculous conversation he's ever had--well, besides the fake calling my thugs on you in the bus 30 minutes ago. he had felt much superior compared to her after the kids chose to hug him instead of her. best feeling in the world. he felt like he could spend the entire day with those adorable beings and not have to be bothered by her like he thought he would.

sighing, he walked to tae's room and came inside, taking the seat besides him. the two had a big brother-little brother relationship but occasionally they would act like just regular old buddies. yoongi, who was 2 years older than tae, treated tae like a little brother while tae treated yoongi like an older brother or mentor. he admired his work ethic and musical ability ever since they were in highschool.

"hi tae," he simply said patting his back. tae jumped then turned around and immediately smiled at his older bro.

"yoongs!" he exclaimed. "i need your help! my next gig is in 2 days and i don't know how to end this verse. it's really frustrating to find something that rhymes with time."

yoongi internally face-palmed at his younger friend and insured him he'd help.

"so far, i've got 'i'm running out of time," he smiled brightly.

"okay...um well clearly, we are running out of time. you have two days for this gig." he cleared his throat, as he tried to figure out what could be written. he went on to fill music mode. "oh! let's do it like we did last time. you give me the ideas and i'll write it?"

yoongi gave taehyung a hopeful look. he had really liked writing and music and although he had not played in a while, at least writing smooth his mind.

taehyung pouted as he realized this would mean yoongi would have to do it all by himself.

"but you would have to do it all alone," he frowned.

"it's okay, i got you. it won't take long. besides, don't you need to practice your saxophone and english courses?" yoongi tried reasoning with him.

taehyung had started taking online english lessons hoping to appeal to a wider range of people. he wanted to be able to cover english songs at the karaoke bar as well.

"you right, you right," taehyung said in english. his accent getting less thick as time flew by.

yoongi chuckled at his friend, "great, so tell me, what do you want the song to be about?"

"hmm, well maybe a love song? there's this girl i can't seem to get my eyes off. she works at the bar and she happens to always be there when i have a gig. she's mysterious and pretty." taehyung spoke with sparkles in his eyes. yoongi has never seen him like this since high school.

yoongi slapped the back of taehyung's head.

"hey! you didn't tell me you had a crush on someone!" he scolded.

"aish, i'm sorry. i meant to tell you but i knew you were going to do just that!" tae frowned rubbing the back of his head. "but its not really a crush, crush. or maybe it is, i don't know but she keeps looking at me so i think she likes me which believe it or not, it's a first."

"i highly doubt that," yoongi scoffed knowing very well taehyung had a lot of secret admirers in high school even though he was oblivious to them.

"was that a compliment yoongi?" taehyung asked in feign confusion.

"the only one you're going to get if i don't see you practicing. i know you have a habit of forgetting your lines and the melody," yoongi reminded him.

taehyung sheepishly smiled, "that's true."

a silence filled the air and suddenly tae asked yoongi, "um, raena wants to know where you shop, by the way."

yoongi slapped his head again.

"OW!"

"shut up."

taehyung laughed. "sorry."

"you know that girl talks too much. she's said the most ridiculous things to me. i don't know why she even keeps going."

"yeah, but she's great."

"i have yet to see that."
