One of the biggest reasons I pulled out (hueheuhe) from writing Fairy Tail fanfics is because of all the friggin shipping wars and shit. 

Honestly, nothing can be more rude and annoying than that. Like take for example my 69 Fam homie HeartInTheKeys who is easily one of the best FT and NaLu Fanfic writers out there (ofc, I'm biased). and her Basketball AU fanfic Perfect Player. 

Like friggin put a little GraLu there and a shitstorm starts like ohhhmyygooooddddd. It's just a pairing and why do all of you have to freaking lose your shit over it?? Like wtf. Honestly. You peepz are giving my bae a migraine and srsly, PP is the only story she has a problem with too like. wtff. 

please understand that fanfic authors have lives.
