Hello, we're glad to have you on today's Hangout session. I'm not sure what to call you, Dorothy or writersblockinmyhead. What's with the username?

You can call me Dorothy! The username is because I struggle with writer's block on the daily and its the main cause for my delay in chapter updates and just writing in general. The struggle is soooo real.

You seem to be busy with a host of things, from fan-girling over at Fangirlish(#MrRobot) to running the Wattmag. What are all those about?(What's the Wattmag and the Fangirlish thing about?)

Fangirlish.com is a website full of stuff related to television, movies, sports etc. We do recaps, reviews, news, and just fun articles in general. We're like a news source for all fandom things! I'm a writer for the site and I get to cover my favorite show of all time, Mr Robot! I cover all the latest news on it and review/recap the episodes. It's honestly one of my favorite things to get to sit down and write about a show that I'm so passionate about and work with all the other amazing writers at fangirlish.

Wattmag is a free online magazine I created in collaboration with a heap of talented writers. Basically, every month we release a new issue of our magazine on Wattpad and it's full of interviews, reviews, articles, giveaways, helpful tips and everything else a writer and reader should know! We just released our first issue and are well on our way to completing the August issue which will be up at the beginning of next month. It's such a fun thing to do and I totally recommend that everyone checks it out! We always accept guest submissions and love getting as involved in the Wattpad community as we can! We even have a website where we post our articles!

I'm so passionate about both Fangirlish and Wattmag and hope to see them grow as time goes by. I couldn't be any prouder to be a part of them! Definitely check them out.

With 7 published stories and more than 400K reads across, which of your books did you find the most exciting to write? Which has been the fans' favorite?

I've never really thought about which book I found the most exciting to write. Each one was a completely different experience to the other. I guess I'll go with Dissolution because I wrote most of it in the course of a month so I was very wound up in its storyline. The fan favorite has definitely been 'How to Become a Spy' which was featured on Wattpad earlier this year. I was 14 when I wrote it so I wouldn't say it has my best writing, (I cringe over a lot of it) however, I am glad people enjoyed it! The sequel was a huge improvement.

You're "soon to be Self-published". That's interesting. Which book would you be sending into the commercial world?

Yes! I am self-publishing very soon - hopefully late September. I'm sending out basically as many novels as I can. Right now it looks like the first two novels of the Spy Series, Dissolution, and the Ghost Hunters will definitely be the first to hit ebook retailers, but if I can push out some more, that would be great.They'll be available on Amazon Kindle, Kobo, Apple, and Barnes & Noble. (Dissolution and HTBAS will be available for free!)

And why self-publishing?

I chose to do self-publishing mainly for the creative control and quickness of it all. I didn't want to wait ages to hear back from publishers and face rejection and I also didn't want to have to deal with not having a say in a lot of the aspects of my stories (eg, covers, plotlines ect.) It just seemed like the best route for me. For now, I'd just like to have my works in ebook form and if any publishers were to contact me after that, I'd have to see where that could go.

Wattpad Block Party--Summer Edition II. What excites you about that?

Everything! I can't wait to read what everyone's done and see what people think of my piece. It's been such a fun and rewarding experience and I've made so awesome writer friends because of it.

What should we be expecting from you?

I did a little article on self-publishing where I talked about what the journey's been like and all the struggles I've faced. It's a bit of a personal piece and hopefully might inspire anyone who has been considering self-publishing their own works. I really want it to be informative and insightful.

Are there any expectations you hold for the Party?

I'm not really sure. I've never been in a Block Party before but from what I've seen, it's just a fun experience and good way for the Wattpad community to come together. I'm already enjoying it so far so I guess I'm just expecting the fun to continue!

Giveaways are the best! I'm dedicating a chapter of any of my stories to the winner. Basically, they chose the book and chapter they want to have dedicated to them!
