Although this is considered a prequel, it should be treated as a sequel to MANIA. It contains many main-plot spoilers from MANIA and characters that were already introduced there.

It is highly recommended to read MANIA prior to reading this.

Although the plot of The Wraith is not difficult to understand without MANIA, so it's fine if you just want to read this and not MANIA... but beware of spoilers.
