Ruby's point of view

I'm sitting in my dorm with my team working on homework, but i'm having trouble finishing it. My mind keeps play back to that day yang striked max breaking his helmet and his sword during the fight. He looked...broken. I could feel his pain as he picked up the shards of his helmet and sword. After sitting there for a bit he got up without saying a word and walked out. I wanted to see if he was ok but Blake stopped me saying i should give him some space. Maybe i should go check on him.

"Hey guys, i'm going to check on my brother", i said closing my book and jumping down from my bunk.

"I'll come too", Blake said.

We both excited our dorm heading to my brothers. We had to exit the girls dorm building and headed to the boys dorm which was just across the plaza by our dorms. We entered the boys dorm and headed to my brothers dorm. We made it to his room pretty quickly. We both stood in front of his dorm and for some reason i hesitated to knock, but i ended up doing it anyway.

"Hey max, you in there?", i asked loud enough so he could hear me but there was no reply.

"Max, can we talk please?", i said. I looked at blake to see her staring at the door making me look too to see it was cracked open. I pushed it open to see that the room was empty.

"Where'd he go?", i asked out loud.

Max's point of view

I've been climbing this mountain for two days now, i should be getting close to where i'm heading. I need to make a new sword and helmet, but i need the right place with the right materials to do it, and i need to go somewhere peaceful so i can find my center. My chi is too out of balance because of what yang did. She broke my sword and helmet which was made by my sensei, but i looks like i need to make a new armor too. I left my old armor at the school, i'll be keeping it for sentimental reasons. 

"There it is", i said pulling down a cloth covering my mouth.

I continued walking up the mountain with my one sword dangling by my side with a backpack on my back with enough supplies i need for my time here. I made my way to the front of the cabin opening the door to the front room as i set my stuff down to the side.

I continued walking through the room to the back of the cabin where the forge was. On the way i took off my jacket throwing it  onto the couch. I open the door leading to the forge to see everything in place just as me and my master left it.

"time to begin", i said taking off my top as i walked over to the fire.

I threw some logs into the fire place and began to start a fire. After i got a decent flame going i began to fan it to make it burn brighter. After awhile i began adding more firewood to the fire making it hotter and hotter enough to soften any metal to begin creating my sword. I'll need to use some titanium for the main component of the sword with a tungsten carbon edge. This'll give the sword the strength of titanium and the density of iron. I went over to a special safe holding special material me and my master used to create swords. He taught me how to blacksmith. I opened the safe and brought out a titanium ore, the only one my master ever had. Titanium isn't an easy material to find. I grabbed some tongs and held it over the fire for awhile making it burn a bright red and orange and brought it over to the anvil. I grabbed a hammer and striked the metal making sparks fly beginning the long journey of making my sword with my masters words in my head.

"A sword wields no strength, unless the hand that holds it has courage"

Timeskip to tomorrow morning

I went back to the forge and saw my new sword on its stand. I walked forward slowly making my way but stopped as i was in front of it. I looked at it, and thought of how i made it. I used everything my master taught me to sword making. I grab the handle of the sword and quickly spin around slashing the air. I felt the swing of the sword making sure it wasn't off balanced, but it was perfectly balanced. I held the sword in front of me looking at it to make sure there was no dents or any marks that would show i messed something up. 

"perfect, now the armor", i said with a smile. Lucky for me i still have some titanium left over, apparently i didn't need all of that titanium for the sword.

Another time skip because i don't want to explain blacksmithing 

It's taken me a long time, but it's finally done. I took out the last piece of the armor out of the water to cool it. I set it on a rack with the other armor pieces. I stepped back to look at the whole armor in its glory.

"let's try it on", i said out loud grabbing a piece.

I grabbed the shin parts and sat down putting them on. I tied them to my legs tightly so they wouldn't shift around too much or fall off. Next i moved to the chest piece and pulled it over my body and began tying it and making sure they were tight again. Then i grabbed the arm guards and gloves putting them on also. Then i grabbed the helmet looking at it before putting it on. 

"fits like a glove", i commented out loud.

I left the blacksmith area and entered the front room. I grabbed my bag with my extra clothes i had and put on my winter cloak over my armor. Then i distinguished the fire in the cabin and went to the door with my things. I went outside to feel the cold breeze going through the mountains and the snow surrounding the area.

Timeskip to Vale 

I was walking through vale after what seemed like a walk that lasted forever. I was walking down the street when i saw a group of people run down a street then alarms started to blare as they ran. I looked at the group down the street then the opposite direction they came to see beowulf's and ursai running at me. I grabbed both my swords and get into a two handed sword stance waiting for the beowulf's and ursais to get closer. 

"looks like i get to test out my new sword", i said as they reached me.

A usai and a beowulf launched at me at the same time. I ran at them slashing them both at the same time killing them both. I sliced a grimm at my right while dodging a slash by another coming from my right. I heard gunshots coming down the road, i think someone needs my help. I ran through the hoard slashing and cutting through the hoard until i came upon a courtyard to see team RWBY fighting the grimm while civilians ran away. They were getting pushed back to a building because too much grimm was coming out of the hold. I sheathed one of my swords and held the other infront of me with both hands concentrating as blue aura surrounded the blade.

"Getsuga...", i said raising my sword as the aura gor brighter.

"TENSHO", i yelled firing a blue slash at the hoard in front of them effectively killing them all. 

I jumped in front of team RWBY unsheathing my other sword. I stood in front of team rwby as they took a breather reloading their guns. I looked to my left to see them standing up then back in front of me to see a bunch of grimm looking at us like food.

"get ready, we're not done yet", i said getting in a fighting stance.

I ran at the horde with team RWBY at my sides as we ran at the hoard. I slashed a beowulf in front of me while spinning at the same time to slash another behind it. I see a deathstalker at the corner of my eye as i slash through a boarbatusk. It launched its tail at me but i dodged to the side and sliced it's stinger off making it stumble back in pain. I ran at it with my swords at my side. It tried to use of it's pincers on me but i slide under it then jumped up in the air stabbing both swords into it killing it. I took my swords out and jumped off the corpse fading into smoke. I heard bullheads coming in making me look to see atlas dropping robots and more beacon teams being dropped off also. I continued fighting the hoard as glynda showed up to patch up the hole. Off the corner of my eye i saw two people walk away from the scene one with green hair and the other with grey.

I followed behind them keeping my distance before they climbed a ladder leading to a rooftop. I followed after them after they reached the top. I got to the top and slowly peaked over to see them standing next to some other people but i couldn't see them from my angle and i couldn't hear what they were saying. Then the green and grey haired people moved out of the way to show cinder fall, Salem's left hand man and Adam Taurus a white fang leader. I jumped up sheathed both katanas.

"CINDER!!!", i yelled getting their attention. She looked over at me and her eyes widened with surprise for a moment.

"If it isn't the traveling ronin", she said mocking.

"You and Salem's plans end here", i sad getting into a fighting stance.

"Sadly we can't fight again this time. I have places to be and places to go", she said walking away.

I ran at here trying to slash at her to see another blade stop mine. I looked at the owner to see Adam holding the other end. i backed up then slashed at him vertically but he blocked it then counter attacked. He slashed at me from above but i blocked it then kicked him in the chest gaining distance to try and stab at him. He dodged to the side spinning around to get behind me trying to cut my back but i hold my sword over my head behind my back blocking the strike as i spin around moving his blade away to slash at his side but he was quick enough to block it. We both stepped back taking a defensive stance ready for the other to attack.

"i would love to continue this but i also have things to do", he said throwing a smoke bomb at my feet.

I jumped back out of the smoke so i would be able to see better. The smoke dispersed after a while to show that he was gone. I felt another presence but i knew who it was. I relaxed and sheathed my sword to turn around to see my teammate Val.

"Been awhile,oh glorious leader", he said jokingly.

"i apologize for being gone for so long, i had things i had to take care of", i said answering him.

"I could tell", he said

"So, where were you this whole time?", i asked 

"There was a group of grimm that separated from the main hoard that i followed while team RWBY dealt with the others", he answered. 

"good, you made the right decision", i said with pride.

"So, what caused all of this anyways?", i asked interested.

"That my friend, is a long story", he said with a sigh.
