Time
"When life gets busy and Some people make time for you, those are ones who will stay with you."
Ianthe knew she needed support when the Fae came. If Harley could get Lysandra to come it would be great but Ianthe barley knew the girl, and with Ianthe having a bad reputation by her going to bars, she doubted the girl would defend her much. Besides, Aedion would probably flirt with her the whole time.
Ianthe didn't need Lysandra, she needed a friend who would never let her down and betray her. She knew exactly who she needed to be there with her.
(Flashback)
Ianthe tried to hide her disappointment. Though she felt neglected on the inside, she wasn't going to let it ruin her day. She was ready for the year to be over. Though Lydia was sorrowful after Eugene's death, now she had friends ranging from a Scottish red head to a dark haired shadowhunter. She barley had time for her little sister, especially since she started dating Thorne as well. Balancing her job, friends, and boyfriend left her little room for Ianthe.
Harley was busy raising Lucy. Mom was always either around them or ianthes older brother who had just gotten accepted into college. Plus, with Aedion moving away and Dad going to jail it makes sense that the quinnzells has little time for her or time at all.
But before all this happened there was time and her mother never gave her a minute of it.
The knock on the door startled Ianthe out of her pondering thoughts. Harley had opened it to reveal Tank, her childhood friend who had recently come out of the closet, his shoes sparkled in The Sun.
"Coming?" He asks, only to have her nod. After Ianthe broke up with Will she had been trying to spend more time with Tank, it kept her distracted from missing Will.
Tank laid his tennis racquet in the back seat, giving Ianthe the jets to start the car. She had so many memories in this car and for a moment she thought she'd miss it.
"This feels weird without Ansel," she spoke, placing her sunglasses on to shield her from the rays of The Sun.
As they headed toward the tennis courts, for a match, nostalgia filled Ianthe mind. Ansel was her doubles partner, best friend, the one who taught her how to dance at bars, the one who danced with her at bars, and the one who punched Will when he and Ianthe broke up. She had the darkest red hair one could imagine, even brighter than Lydia's friend, Merida, she was elegant yet fierce and always was as wild as one can be. Harley and Ansel were friends for a while, but they fell out. Maybe that's why Ianthe loves Ansel so much, usually all her siblings got something and Ansel was just hers. Her best friend!
Though now while Ianthe was going through therapy for her problems, Ansel had graduated and continues her habits. She wasn't getting better. Ansel was no longer here, Ianthe would be playing number one singles. But Ianthe was moving forward, Ansel wasn't. Though they had a strong bond their paths had lead them apart, and even though it hurts maybe it was for the better.
"Tank?" She began.
"Hmmm..."
"Promise me something," she paused "promise me that we'll stay friends after this year, promise me we won't forget each other?"
"Girl I could never forget you!" He practically screamed. "I promise," he spoke with a smile. "And Ianthe,.....I know we don't see Ansel anymore and that's a good thing, I can't imagine how much trouble she'd get us in but......I don't think she'll ever forget you either. I know you feel like and invisible child but you'll never be invisible to us," Ianthe felt so pleased, knowing she would never be alone, she always will have someone watching her back.
"I love you Tank," she spoke, squeezing his hand.
"I love you to," He spoke with a grin, " now lets go win us this match! And if there's time we'll find ourselves a man!" Ianthe burst out laughing, Tank was always trying to find a man and asking her for suggestions. She truly didn't know what she'd do without him.
The last Ianthe had seen Tank was at his wedding, when she wore fancy robes that itched to support her best friend. She hated to bother him, but she knew his support would help her get through the Fae trial. Perhaps Ansel would as well, but she wasn't as dependable. Besides she didn't have a clue what she would say to Ansel, it's been so long.
She dialed Tanks number.
A/N: thanks so much for reading! Sorry about it updating but now it's summer so I should be able to update every week! Thanks for everything. What do you think of Tank? Have a great day and be happy! Love you all! :)
