Lucy

"Finally!!! I was so scared they'd kill you!" Amber screamed as she ran and hugged me.

"Amber what are you doing here? How?" Merwin begin then saw the red light flashing in Ambers neck.

"Hey," I look up and See none other than James Potter. His dark long hair hanging down with his leather jacket.

"Don't talk to her," Amber snapped. "I'm tired of you thinking you can. You hurt her and I know all your secrets and crap you try to hide, I know how you treated Lucy. Stop trying to kiss up to her just cause you want her in your bed. It's not gonna happen you-"

"At least let me explain my side of the story!" James began, before Amber could explode on him he continued "NO I'm talking, you're listening!"

"Don't you dare talk to me that way, listen here buddy," Amber began shoving at his chest. James let out a small laugh at her attempt of a threat.

"Stop it, both of you!" Lydia said coming between them. "Gosh, where's your manners?!"
James and Amber just looked at each other and blamed it on the other.

"Waller you're not taking those kids, they're all young and have a life ahead of them, and I don't care if I'm not following your rules, make my head go kablowie, I don't give a crap!" Mom spat.

"Oh, so you want your children to grow up without their mother," Waller snapped right back. Mom froze and I could tell that broke her.

"Mom..?" J muttered, seeing her distressed.

"You're coming with us," Waller spoke and we had no choice to follow.

"That was awesome of Amber to take up for you like that," Merwin began than read my face. "Lu, I know you may still like him but it's better this way it-"

"Merwin," I begin "I know I'm better without him but when Amber was yelling at him, he had a sparkle in his eyes," I paused "the same one he use't to have with me,"

"Wait," Merwin paused "no way, no no, he...just no lu, can you imagine what kind of couple they'd be. Huh? Not a good one," I nodded but I could see James and Amber lasting longer than James and I did. And they'd be one of those bickering Love-Hate couples. They'd work. I don't stand a chance anymore. Or maybe I'm just too good for him now. Either way, I've realized James and I aren't going to be in each other's lives anymore.

  Amber

  I followed behind Waller, wishing I wasn't here. Dad was probably worried to death about me and I know grandpa would form a huge search party and pray for the first time in his life. Grandpa and I were close, the last thing I wanted to do was to stress him out because I was gone. Merwin and Lucy walked in front of me. I tried to catch up but Lucy always walked faster when I did, so I just stopped. She wanted space and needed to think.  I don't think I did anything, must be something someone else did. Probably Jermone, he's been awful sour lately.

"Hi," I look behind me to see J. I'd once met the son of the Joker once but he didn't scare me.

"Hi J," he grinned. Yes he had the Jokers smile but the way his smile was he made it look innocent and sweet. That was something I'd been told my whole life "Amber you're too innocent.,,too pure to understand," just because I was a Christian girl. I suppose that was a good thing, that I was a light to others. I know I didn't show it tonight with James. He deserved it though, I try not to be sassy but something about that boy makes me act like a tom cat. Wild even.
   But J was different from me. He was innocent and sweet and saw no danger in the world. He was the true light, not me.

  "He....he...he's....angry," he managed to get out pointing behind us to James and Jermone who walked in silence.

  "Which one?" I asked him.

  "Uh.......j....j...his...names.....big word,....r..red hair,"

  "Jermone?" I helped him out. The poor kid was struggling but wanted me to hear him so he kept trying.  He nodded viciously.

  "The other...other one,.....I'm.....his name....:I don't....never heard....one who yelled at you? You.....you...yelled back," I blushed in embarrassment.

  "I guess you saw that to, huh?" He nodded slowly.

"He.....he ...hurt Lucy....he bad,"

"Hey buddy I'm not that bad," James spoke catching up to us. He was about to clap J on the back but J shrunk up like a ball, his shoulders caving in.

"N....n....no," he whispered. He then looked at me. "You,......nice......you pretty.,,,," then he sprinted away and wrapped his long arms around Merwin and Lucy.

  "He's not wrong," James began.

"Yeah," I begin "you really are bad. But I'd use other words to describe you than bad,"

"Like what? Sexy?" He smirked and I sighed.

  "That was a horrible attempt to flirt," I tell him.

  "Then why are you blushing so much?"

"James Potter let me make one thing clear," I turn and look him in the eyes. Green eyes. Not that I noticed. "Harry Potter saved the wizard  world, he was a hero. But that gives you no excuse to be cocky and act like you did. Cause you didn't save the world, your father did. You are not your father. And I refuse to fall for you like an other hopeless romantic,"

"So Lucy's a hopeless romantic?"

"You didn't let me finish," I snap "Lucy is an exception. She made a mistake falling for you and she won't ever do it again, because she has a friend like me ," then it was my turn to smirk.

"Ok then," he spoke "well who's going to protect you from falling for me?"

  "No one James Potter, for I will never fall for you. Not even if you was the last person on earth, I'd rather die than be with you!" I'm not going to lie that was cruel of me to say but I will not fall for the cocky idiots traps. And it didn't seem to bother him anyway. 

"Alright, I get it," he shrugged and walked past me brushing his arm against mine. "But if you ever change your mind," he began "and you will. Amber Omsford I will make you fall for me,....I'll even have you begging for me," then he walked away. I hated him yet I felt as if he made me feel things I've never felt before.

  Merwin

Amanda Waller gave us costumes and told us to be ready in 5 for our first task. More people were here than I thought.

"What you doing here String Bean?" I see Daniel and was wondering the same thing.

"Hey look who's here," Lucy spoke as she elbowed me. I shoved her a box of clothes, a gesture to tell her to shut up. She grasped out red lipstick and began putting it on and winked. "Go get him," I sighed as she left. I looked in the box and realized most of it was moms things. Moms costumes from when she was Harley Quinn: red and black and blue on everything, leather jackets, cards, even undergarments I couldn't imagine her in.

  "You gonna wear that?" Daniel asks as I examined all the clothing. I wanted to whack him with the clothes but J stopped  me.

"Do....don't like it......n....no," he whispered with a tone saying he was in misery. He wore a large leather purple jacket. Jokers jacket. Someone had covered his mouth with red because I know J would never do that to himself. He looked identical to the Joker. Like a mirror image. "M...Mer,....." he choked out. "I didn't.....don't....monster,"

  "J you're not a monster," I begin.

  "Here!" Lucy began, licking her thumb to wipe away his red lips. But she also needed to wipe away his tears. "J, you're not him,you'll never be him," Lucy wore a white t shirt that said "ha ha ha" all over it in spray paint, a purple and red leather jacket, had her hair in two low pigtails with red lipstick, and shorts that could easily pass as underwear. I knew Jermone had to be looking even if he was mad. Daniel turned around trying to give us privacy with our brother, but he really couldn't cause we were all in one little room.

"Um guys?" Amber began. Lucy was with J so I went to her.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"How are we supposed to change, I mean," she held a maroon corset with knives and leather pants in her arms. She had neatly folded them. Only Amber.

"Nice," I tell her pointing at the clothes.

"They were moms," she whispered with a grin. Amber mother had passed away, her father refused to tell her anything about it so she was often clueless. I avoided the topic as much as possible.

"Um," I began "I guess we change in here,"

  "In front of them?!" She asked a look of fear and anxiety on her face. I looked and noticed what she meant, in front of boys.

  "Well,....." I looked to see where Lucy went to change but saw no doors or anywhere she would have went.

  "Merwin," Amber trembled "I don't want to change in front of them, they'll make sexual remarks and...."

  "Amber, J is having his own problems and Jermone won't even,." I paused and read her face. "James Potter won't say anything either,"

"Merwin you don't understand you and Lucy are fine, I....my breast are small I...I don't," I stopped her before she would cry in fear.

  "Amber, James Potter isn't as bad as you think he-" she wouldn't let me finish so I just let it what I thought "Amber what would your mom do? Just,...don't think about it and just change. Here I'll stand in front of you," I stood in front of her, Shielding her.

  "Merwin,"

"What?!" I snapped.

"Thanks, you're a good friend,"

"Amber don't let James potter scare you ok?"

"Merwin he doesn't scare me,.....he makes me.....I don't know but I...I just don't know," she looked at me "thanks again," then she left to go find Lucy.
