Amber yawned and swung her feet over the side of the bed. It was yet again a gorgeous day that had to be celebrated.

Amber walked outside and did her normal morning routine, hailing the sun and all.

All the most wonderful things in life must be celebrated.

After Amber was finished with her breakfast of tree nuts, she heard a rustling in the bushes and jumped. As soon as she realized it was just Cody, she relaxed.

"Amber!" he shouted, digging through the shrubs.

He held something in his embracing hands, something made of paper.

Amber stared curiously at him, wondering what he had.

When he made it through the trap, he ran up to Amber and picked her up, swinging her through the air. Her hair blew through the wind, and her laugh lit up the whole world.

He stopped spinning her, leaving her hanging in the air. "Amber," he breathed. "Will you go to the village ball with me?"

Her face lit up. "V-village ball?" He nodded.

She smiled a smile that stretched across the whole world. "Absolutely!"

He set her down, and on the trip down, she gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek.

Cody gave Amber her ticket and she skipped into her cabin. He touched his hand to the cheek she kissed and thought to himself,

I'm never washing this cheek again.
