We both worried for the other and I had a tendency to lose control. They never separated us after the second mission alone. My anger got the best of me and I almost got myself and a member killed. In my defense they weren't cooperating with me. Of course the clave and the institute didn't like that claim. I wasn't punished for it going south because in the end.

The mission was successful even with the small mishap. That is a long story I don't often share for reasons. The team member I was forced to go with was sixteen. He was sort of new to the field and it was hard. Hard to get him to match with my speed and everything.

"Lina your stele" Jesse said

"Shoot I thought I grabbed it thanks" I said with a smile

You know how I mentioned Jesse liking someone. Yep she just entered the room and now he's distracted. I almost left him in the institute by accident of course.

"Jesse come on focus" I snapped

Me and Jesse had our hands on our weapons. Let me add something I forgot to mention. I have a dagger in my left hand, my stele in the back right packet. On my right hip is my shadowhunter blade aka the sapphire blade. On my back are my arrows and my bow in hand. Yes I can do it all and I love my weapons. Just ask Jesse I'm very much attached to them. I even keep them in my room at the institute.

I get very possessive and hate when people touch my things. Reason why I created my own rune to get into my room. No one knows it not even Jesse knows how to use it. I know your probably wondering why I don't trust my parapatai for that. It's not entirely about not trusting him with it. It's that I'm afraid someone will try and mimic it. Even though runes have certain marks for certain shadowhunters.

Yep some things can't be unlocked if your not a certain shadowhunter. It's very simple knowledge in my opinion. I dropped down off the building with Jesse close behind.

"JJ give me your arm" I said

"New rune?" He asked

"Yep here" I said

I drew the rune that would give him a special sight. The ability to detect the demons heat signature. The clave said anytime I come up with a new rune I must put it in the gray book of runes. Yes I know it's very unfortunate that I can't keep it to myself. Although I do understand where they are coming from.

No mundanes could see it happen, no mundanes could save him. It all happened way to fast and we were ambushed. Seven came out of nowhere and quickly might I add. Four had to hold me back as I watched the tragic event. I screamed and screamed, but mundanes walked right through.

"Any last words?" The demon asked my parapatai

"Damn it let him go" I screamed

If your wondering where Bethy and Clare are as of now. Oh there here just passed out from a warlocks magic. From this moment on I swear to the world of shadowhunters. To the downworlders, to the mundanes and the clave. I will not and I'll repeat this I will never use my powers. Powers against the innocent ones around us.

He looked at me as a single tear fell down his cheek. Then with one swift motion of his blade. The demon decapitated my parapatai. They let me go and disappeared quickly.

"NOOOOOOOOO" I screamed in pain

I saw the first day we met and the day of our ceremony. I felt my rune burning off as it began to fade. A wave of magic shot out of me as I rushed to my parapatai. I held him in my arms even decapitated. As Clare and Bethy came back from their slumber.

"No...no...no, mon petit frère" Bethy said the last bit in French

"Jesse, Jesse stop this trick" I begged

Clare and Bethy placed their hand on either of my shoulders. I screamed and held my parapatai close to my chest. Blood now covering my clothes and my skin. I didn't want to move, I felt my feelings begin to fade. I wanted to kill those beasts that took him from me.

I used magic to portal us back to the institute. I stood with Jesse and his head in my arms. Walking through the portal everyone froze upon are arrival. I held no emotion in my expression. I felt nothing, no pain, no grief, no anger or sadness. I felt utterly empty and completely numb to everything. I set him in a table while they took him away.

I felt my inner arm burning as my parapatai rune began to fade. I ignored the calls of my name from anyone. I walked towards my sleeping quarters and locked the door.

I stood in the back right by the exit for easily access. If I needed to run I would and I would never stop. Not until the numbness left my very body. I felt nothing for a week and it's as though I can not feel. As if my soul has left me, my body dying off. When they told me what it would feel like to lose him. To lose my one and only parapatai the only one I'd ever have this type of bond with.
