Time
Five years old
Savannah sat on the couch, her tiny hands working on a paper. What was she doing? Drawing her dream from the night before. What was it about? Well, to start, it was a nightmare. To her, of course. But that isn't what matters. What matters is that she was scared. What she saw in her dream terrified her.
Tiny pupils staring at her from the darkness. It didn't seem so bad at first. It was hiding. From the looks of it, it was smaller than her 2'7 self. She slowly sat up, but immediately backed down when the figure stood. It stood about 8'2. Savannah screamed for her mom and dad. The creature came towards her, reaching its dirty claws out and scratching the five year old's pale skin. Blood poured from the cut. Her mom and dad ran in, turning the light on. The monster dissolved into thin air when the light beam hit it.
"Honey! What's the matter?" Her mom ran to her, grabbing her hands.
" What's going on? Why'd you scream, punkin?" Her father asked. Tears flowed down her face, her cheeks rosie and puffed.
"Baby, calm down... Hun, go get the bandages and a wet cloth! She has a cut!" Her mom said , trying to be calm.
Her father came back with the things she needed. They cleaned her up and picked her up, carrying her to their room. They laid her down in the middle of the two, and soon drifted off to sleep.
Ten years old
Savannah came home with a bunch of bruises and scratches. Her hands were scratched lightly, as if she had fallen. Her knees the same. She had a bloodied nose.
"Savannah, hun, what's with the dirt?" Her mom asked. Savannah stormed to her room and slammed her door. Her mom heard a scream and sobs.
She walked to her daughter's room and gently knocked. Her daughter huffed and opened the door, trying to hide the tears.
"Savannah, why are there cuts on you?"
" I'm being bullied, mom! Isn't it obvious!? I hate life! I hate her! " the ten year old said.
Present day
Savannah looks at herself in the mirror. It was halfway through the school year. What was she preparing for? Nothing. No one likes her. She studied her short, brown hair, making sure it was decent. She looked at her outfit, black sweater and gray jeans, with black vans to throw it all together.
She arrived at school, her ear buds in playing Without Me by Halsey. She walked to her locker, putting her lunch in. She then walked to her first core, science. Once she arrived, she took a seat in the very back. Pulling out a sketchbook, she started to draw.
A few minutes later, she heard a particular group of girls walk in. The ones that bullied. The mean girls. The leader, Taylor, was chatting about how Zoey wasn't real country. It was fake.
"All she does on Instagram is post about country things, when she isn't even country!" She spoke, flipping her brown hair. As she walked in, her chubby stomach bounced. Savannah rolled her eyes as her guy best friend walked in. James waltzed in, brushing past people and sitting with her. She held strong feelings for him, being a friend and a crush. The mean girl's leader held a crush, too.
"Hey, Savannah! How was your weekend?" He bubbled.
" It was, ok I guess... " she says, blandly. Her fingers began to tremble as always in the presence of James. He had light ginger hair, pale skin that looked smooth to the touch, light freckles, and a skinny body.
"Ok? What did you do? I went to Kings Dominion! I spotted Taylor and her friends staring at me! I thought I saw her blushing!-" He gets cut off by the teacher, Mrs. Nolan, said to take our seats.
She begins to ramble on about genes and chromosomes and what not. Savannah's attention turns towards James, who is scribbling down notes. A hot pair of beady eyes could be felt from across the classroom. Savannah turns her head towards Taylor, who gives her such a hot glare, it could make the sun jealous.
"Savannah, what is the answer to number six on the board?" Mrs. Nolan hisses, her eyes on the brunette.
" U-um.... B? " she stutters, realizing she hadn't paid any attention to her lesson.
Mrs. Nolan lets out a sigh and pushes her round glasses up.
"Ok, you have two choices; you could see me after class, or if someone is willing to lend you the notes to copy, you may do that." She says. Savannah looks down, thinking no one will help. Around the class, a few snickers are heard.
"Oh! I'll help her!" A familiar make voice perks. Savannah lifts her head towards the source, only to see two things; James beaming, and Taylor with a shocked yet annoyed expression.

☁☀after class☀☁
Savannah goes to get locker, grabbing her gray and maroon lunch box. She is soon greeted by her friend, Janiyah, who is always there for her. Savannah looked up to Janiyah, who was taller.
"Hey, J! How are you?" She asked, happy to see her friend.
" Well, I'm tired after being in Mr. Butthead's class all morning! " she says with a huff.
She giggle at her friend's nick name for a math teacher. His real name was Mr. Burnham, but most called him Butthead. She looks ahead into the sixth grade hall.
"Oh! We gotta get to Mr. Wallow's class! These little kids are gonna crowd the halls!" She says, starting off towards the band room. Savannah hurried behind her, her small hand holding Janiyah's bag string. Janiyah rammed through the little kids, the smaller girl mumbling in annoyance behind her.
They let out a breath of relief as they entered the band room. Savannah hurried to the cubby to grab her case, and bring it to her seat. She opens the black fabric covered case, pulling out a shiny trumpet. She puts the mouth piece in the hole, shoving her case under her seat.
"Hey, man!" A voice from behind her said. Savannah turned to see Samiya beside her.
"Hey, Sami!" She beams.
Samiya giggles and fake growls.
"Tch, Deku! I told you not to call me that, you quirkless nerd!" She giggles a bit after that.
" A-ah! Sorry, Kacchan! I mean Katsuki! I mean senpai! I mean-" she begins to put on an act when the teacher tells everyone to go to their designated area. Savannah, already there, turns her body.
Mr, Wallow hands everyone the books needed, a gold and a blue.
"Alright, everyone open up to page 18!" All that is heard, is stands shuffling, and pages turning.
They all reach the page and play in key to the music. We go to the blue books, ready to play Eye of The Tiger. All the seventh grade band players get to about measure fourteen when one boy, Walker, messes up. Mr. Wallow stops everyone and helps the teen out....
