It's been six years since my wolf attack, but I still go outside to see "my" wolf. I sit on the tire swing and look out at the woods behind my house looking for him. I spot his yellow eyes staring at me. All he does is stare.

I go into the house and get some meat. I go back outside and walk slowly towards the woods where he lays. I get half-way and hold out my arm to him for him to take the meat. He slowly walks forward sniffing the air as he goes, making sure it's safe.

He's now closer than he ever has before with only three feet apart from me. I drop the meat in front of me hoping that would make him come closer. He walks closer to me and stops right in front of me. He looks up at my eyes and I stare back taken aback by his beautiful eyes. While still looking into his eyes I walk to him and hold out my hand to ask if I can touch him. He lets me and I grab onto his fur. His fur is a dark gray and soft with a hint of a pine/husky musk smell, which I love.

He nuzzles his head onto my arm.
He then eats and soon walks back to the woods. I stand there for a few minutes in shock that after six whole years he finally let me touch him.

As the spring came nearer I started to get out of the house more. I love to read preferably outside on my tire swing looking out at the woods imagining what it would be like to live in there.

I head to the bookstore the only place I seem to go. I walk in with my friends Charlie(female) and Melody. See Charlie is the more outgoing and talkative kind of girl in which we don't seem to bond as good as Melody and I do. Melody is the kind of girl that's interested in the wolves like me and loves to read so we have a lot of things in common more than me and Charlie, but we are still friends.

We all walk into the little book store, the little bell ringing as we enter. The store clerk is busy reading so I just move into the section of wolf books, as I always do, knowing that I won't need assistance.

Charlie is looking through the recipe section. She thinks that if she cooks the right stuff she will finally get fat. Don't ask me I have no idea why she wants to get fat. Melody is looking through the poem section she loves poetry. I will never understand poetry I think it's beautiful, but half the stuff it saids I don't even understand.

I put down my book once I see I have customers then I notice it's the girl. I watch as she looks through the books definitely experienced with the store. She must have been here a lot I tell myself.

As her friends are waiting for her at the counter. I beg for her to look at to see that I'm her "wolf". –Just look at my eyes I'm right here–I beg to her in my head.

I scan her friends books and tell them,"That will be $22." One of the girls pulls out the money I say,"Thank you." Then the girl comes to the counter while her friends are waiting for her at the door. She puts her books on the counter and looks straight into my eyes I freeze. I say in my head –please know who I am please say something.

She just stared back a confused expression on her face. I scan her books and give them to her she takes them and heads to the door, but before she goes she looks back at me and smiles.

I think inside my head does she know who I am?

As I exit the book store I think to myself was that my wolf? Why was he a human? More questions fill my head, but they are interrupted while Charlie says,"Are you going to get in the car or walk?"

I say,"Sorry lost in thought I'll ride with you." Charlie drives me to my house and drops me off,"See you later guys thanks for the ride." I say. "No problem stay safe see you at school tomorrow." Melody saids.

I head straight into my backyard on the tire swing to see if my wolf would come, but knowing that spring is here he probably won't be. He only comes in the winter and late fall.

I waited for an hour, but I saw no sign of him so I headed back inside.
