Aphmaus POV
I hope he doesn't keep calling me a man like Garroth did. He took his sword out and I started fighting him our blades against each others making a loud clanging sound each time.

"You see I'm a high priest and people will get skeptical if I die"

I had to make sure he knew I wasn't female I just kept fighting.

"Oh a silent one! You weren't very smart to fight swords with me. My brother taught me and he's the best there is!"

Ya sure he is. Knowing I wasn't the best with swords I jumped into a tree when nobody was looking. I pulled out my bow and arrow.

"Now hiding? You fight like a girl!"

I shot six arrows at once each one pinning him to a tree. His guards were all tied up. Good thing they would've killed me. I jumped out of my tree.

Garroths POV
Who does he remind me of? Hearing him call Aph a man made me snicker. She walked up to him and looked at Zenix and he came over and started talking

"Who are you people?!?" The high priest asked

"None of your buisness now we will cause no harm if you give us money"

"Thieves all of you?"

"Just give the money"i said

"Hello brother" my eyes widen that's who he was! Zane

"What?"Laurence asked

" Garroth my brother he's a thief now huh?"

"I'm not your brother!"

"I can tell by your voice and eyes!"

Aph looked at me confused her eyes filled with worry...

"Bring him to base!" Laurence yelled we blindfolded the guards so they couldn't see where the base was. We brought him to the examination room. I waited on the other side of the one way mirror.

"I would like to hear mister silent" he snickered

"You don't deserve too!" Zenix countered

"I would like to speak to my brother alone please"

Aph got up and went out and came to me.

"He's your brother huh?"

Aphmaus POV
When I heard this man was Garroths brother I was shocked.

"Yah...I'm his big brother...not exactly an honour we hate each others guts!" His head covering was on the table beside him. He was leaning on a table head down his hair shining slightly in the dim lighting and his eyes the ice blue that could make you... What am I saying?!?!?

"You wanna talk to him?" I asked as I was removing my head covering.

"Yea I will you wanna come with me? I would feel safer" he looked at me and his voice sounded so smooth and his lips so kissable...kissable? Ugh I have to stop anyways

"Sure but I might not stay for the whole thing cause I will make him think he's alone. But then again I am an unhonourable man!" I laughed making fun of him when we first met while putting on my covering

"Haha that was funny lets go" we walked up to the door and as he was reaching for the doorknob he hesitated. I took his hand and gave it a light squeeze reasurring him. He looked back and smiled. I let go and we walked in.

"I said alone!"

"I want this person to be here!"

"Fine! What turned you into this? Garroth?"

"Zane it was a decision I had to make!"

"You COULDVE left! What did you do? Fall in love?"

Garroths POV
Yes
"What does love have to do with it?"

"You're an idiot thinking love exists and it would be the only thing holding you back from leaving these people!"

"Zane listen I can get you out of this mess you can leave with everything! But you need to promise me something"

"What?"

"You will NEVER speak of this day to anyone so long as you shall live do you hear me?"

"Whatever sure"

I turned to Aph who rolled her eyes and nodded.

"Good now we will put you back"

Aphmaus POV
Wait who does Garroth think he is?!?!? Some leader?!?!? He's a newbie! I'm the leader and I wanted his money! I grabbed Garroth by the arm and pulled him out of the room.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Letting him go"

"He will tell people and we get nothing out of it smart one!"

"I know my brother he will do the unthinkable as long as we get him out of our hair we should be fine!"

"If this backfires YOU will pay understand?"

"...yes"

We returned Zane back to his guards untied them and went away. After an hour of boredom j went into the town. On the street was Donna and her husband Logan.

"Hey Donna hey Logan how's life?" They were one of the homeless family's we helped

"As good as its ever gonna get" Logan sighed

"Aw it'll get better Logan trust me!"

"Aphmau may I speak to you?"

"Sure Donna!" We went to a spot where nobody could hear us

"Aphmau I'm pregnant!"

"Donna that's great!"

"I'm worried about the baby's living condition..."

"You can live with us at the base!"

"Really?!?"

"Of course you are my best friend! We have tons of room! Go get Logan and meat me there!"

"Ok"

She walked away extatic! I felt so happy to help her. I got back and Garroth was standing there.

"Some friends of mine will be living here so don't panic go tell Zenix and the others but don't put words in mouth an-" he kissed me...agian?!?!? What is with this dude and kissing me?!?

"Why do you always kiss me?"

"Cause its the only way I know how to shut you up" he said laughing I rolled my eyes...if it was anyone else I would've slapped them but Garroth was different...? What ever im going to prepare the room for them and just take my mind off everything that's been happening. As I was making the room nicer I heard Donna and Logan.

"Oh my gosh Aphmau this is far too nice!" Donna exclaimed

"Don't worry about it Donna you deserve it!" I told her

"Aphmau thank you do you have enough food?"

"Yes Logan we have plenty!"

"Thank you again so much!" They both said

"Its no problem really" I gave them both a hug and let them setlle in.

"So when will I get to meet them?" Garroth was waiting outside the door

"Tonight let them settle in"

Garroth was smiling at me like an idiot.

"What?"

Garroths POV
She asked why I was staring at her. Haha cause you're beautiful and I love you. Yes I admit it I love her there's no doubt but now I'm much more comfortable with thinking about it.

"No reason its just I love how you're being nice for once!"

"Hey Donna and Logan are close friends of mine! And I'm glad to help." She was really kind when it was important.

"Aphmau?" A girl with light brown hair and pale skin stuck her head out of the door "what time is dinner?"

"Five"

"Alright thank-you oh who is this?" She said walking out so we could talk.

"This is Garroth he's...new" she said as i held my hand out for her to shake

"Well hello Garroth my name is Donna its nice to meet you! My husband's name is Logan he's in there" she said taking my hand

"Nice to meet you too" we pulled away

"Aphmau have you heard of the kings ball tomorrow night?"

"Actually no...but it could be the opportunity of a life time!"

"Yes that's what I was thinking so I though I should tell you."

"Thank-you Donna!" She said and ran off. After everyone met Logan and Donna Aph pulled me into my room.

"Ok so I was talking to Zenix, about the ball thing, anyways with Dale it'd be awkward cause well he's Dale and with Laurence he would just flirt and Zenix has to do something else with the plan so I was thinking maybe you and I could go to the ball together?" She looked up at me biting her lip.

"Sure! But there's a few things that we'll have to do there to make it look like we're not there to steal from the king."

"Like what?"

"Dance"

"No problem I know how do you?"

"Yes and we'll have to mingle"

"Ugh ok is that it?"

"Pretty much its the ball where they allow anyone in but just make sure you follow my lead I know what it's like to be in a castle."

"Ok whatever um..."

"What?"

"Tomorrow we can go into town and go to Cadenza, Laurence's sister, to get a suit for you and a dress for me"

"Alright"

So I was going to a ball...with Aph? Best day ever! I'm so excited!! The next day I got ready to go to town.

Aphmaus POV
I woke up and started to get ready. I don't know why it was only Garroth! After I was ready I went to go find him. I went outside and he was waiting for me.

"Ready?" He asked

"No I just wanted to make sure you were" I said sarcastically he laughed and we went to town. We walked down the streets and through the market I almost didn't notice Garroth hold my hand. I pretended not to notice but my hand held onto his too? I'm really confused oh well. We walked to Cadenza's I let go of Garroths hand and knocked on the door. Cadenza answered

"Hello Aphmau! What can I do for you?"

"Garroth and I need formal wear could you help?"

"Of course come in so I can measure you!"

We went in and sat on the couch. Garroth was first to be measured we had to stay there all day because Cadenza needed to make sure everything was perfect! The whole time Garroth was practically silent

"So why do you need the formal wear?"

"For the kings ball"

"You and...?"

"Garroth" he said introducing himself

"Well nice to meet you I'm Cadenza anyways you guys were going? Mission?"

"Yah...I didn't wanna go with Laurence because it would be awkward with him liking me and all"

"Ya Laurence calls in love with every girl! He won't mind that you guys were dating!"

Garroths face turned very red. I laughed a little

"Cadenza we're not dating"

"Oh I'm sorry I just thought cause you guys were going to the ball together!"

"Its fine" she was done measuring Garroth so he got down and I got up.

"What colour dress Aphmau?"

"Purple"

"And Garroth a classic black suit?&"

"Sure"

I gave Garroth a look.

"You're never this quiet Garroth!"

"Well I won't intrude on your guys' conversation!"

"Anyways Cadenza so you know Levin? He's starting to walk more! Its so cute!"

"Aww babies are SO cute!"

After awhile we were both done getting measured so Cadenza started sewing.

"Why do we have to wait her?"

"Garroth don't be rude! She always wants to make sure everything fits right!"

"Ugh I feel so out of place!"

"Garroth you're fine! Just don't be so awkward" I said placing my hand on his shoulder his face grew red.

Garroths POV
My face grew red by her touch. She was smiling at me. Cadenza came over holding some clothes.

"Here Garroth try these on"

"Thank you" I took them and walked to the changing room.

Aphmaus POV
"I can sense some chemistry between you two!" Cadenza whispered

"There's nothing there!"

"We'll see about that..." She said with an evil grin. I looked at her confused. Then Garroth came out...he had a blazer and his normal pants on but he had no shirt under his suit jacket? You could see his muscles...I felt my face heat up so this is why Cadenza looked devious!

"Cadenza this shirt didn't fit at all!"

"Sorry I grabbed the wrong one I just wanted to see how the jacket would fit. I'll start on making a new one"

He walked over and sat next to me. Only making my face heat up even more!

"Ugh I hate this its taking forever!"

"Don't complain we're lucky she's doing this"

"I'm gonna put my shirt back on." He took his jacket and threw it on the couch and went to get his shirt back on. After about three ours of fitting for Garroth she started on me. For some reason Cadenza wouldn't let me see Garroth. In about another three hours she was done with me. The dress was beautiful! I looked at it in the mirror in the changing room and fell in love with it! She came in and looked at me.

"You look beautiful! Now take it off! Garroth can't see you in the dress before the ball!"

"Ugh fine!" I put it in a bad and walked out."ready to go?"

"Yup lets go!" Garroth said getting up.

We went back to base. And we went through the day waiting for the ball.
Garroths POV
*day of the ball
So the ball was tonight. I'm not one for dressing up though. The good thing is when I was a knight I NEVER showed my face or barely talked so nobody will recognize me. I looked at my suit. It was a very nice suit Cadenza did a good job and it fit perfectly! I can't help but wonder what Aphs gonna look like. The ball was now ten minutes away. I guess I should put on the suit now. I went to the cherry blossom tree to see a beautiful Aph.
