Flames burned at every side. Sadie screamed and ran to the well. Hayden and Shian followed her, but Beatrix stood strong and faced Kalina. "A little fire doesn't scare me," she muttered to her.
"But it scares your friends. It could hurt them, it could kill them. You should put it out, to protect them," Kalina whispered into her ear.
"I will then," Beatrix said. She knew what game Kalina was playing, she wanted Beatrix to turn her back and put out the fire, and then Kalina would attack. So, Beatrix didn't move her face and kept her eyes on Kalina and used her arms to die down the fire. Flames fell to the ground and left charred trees in their wake. "I'm not playing your game Kalina," she muttered. Beatrix glanced behind her and saw Sadie, Hayden, and Shian rise off the ground and stand next to Beatrix.
"What game?" Kalina asked, faking cluelessness, "I don't want to kill you right away. If you saw, I made flames. I'm a siren, I don't do that kind of magic, but I found something out. I can steal other's powers. I have taken some from each of you, but now it's very weak. When I win, I will take all of your power, then murder you."
"You evil thing!" Hayden exclaimed. He threw a punch to her face and Kalina dodged.
"Tut, tut, tut," Kalina clucked, "We won't have that, will we." Kalina lunged forward and held Shian to the ground. Then Daniel came out from the trees.
"Oh, not you," Sadie groaned.
"Yes me, sweet heart," he smiled.
"I'm not your sweet heart," Sadie muttered.
"Oh, I know, Kalina is my sweet heart," he smiled. He walked over to Kalina and kissed her on the forehead. "I'll take Shian from here," he smiled. He pushed Shian into the dirt and Kalina stood up and faced the other three.
"You may think you have outnumbered me, and you have, but you've seen how powerful Daniel is. And I'm just as strong," Kalina smiled. She lunged forward and stabbed her knife into Sadie's arm. Sadie fell to the ground in pain.
"You're not gonna win this," Hayden muttered.
"Don't be so sure, pretty boy," Kalina smiled, slicing her knife across his thigh. He groaned and kicked her in the stomach with his good leg. Kalina crumpled to the ground, but stood right back up. "Oh, we're playing this game," she laughed, kneeing him in the leg. He fell to the ground and stretched out his leg. He groaned and leaned back. "Now it's you and me, fire girl," she laughed. Kalina lunged forward again and dug her nails into Beatrix's arm. She sliced Beatrix's face with her knife and Beatrix moaned and fell to the ground. Then the unexpected happened.
