Beatrix ran over to Sadie's room with Hayden. They quickly opened the door and saw Daniel crying by Sadie who had an arrow sticking out of her leg. "She's gone," he said in between sobs. Beatrix looked at Sadie and saw her eyes flutter and her hand slightly move.
"No she's not," Beatrix said, "Just in shock from the pain." Beatrix ran over to Sadie's side and pulled out the arrow. Sadie groaned. It almost made Beatrix cry seeing her friend like this, but she had to stay strong for her. Sadie was her best friend, and if she saw her crumble when she was just hurt, she would crumble too. And Beatrix knew that right now was not the right time for her to crumble.
Sadie slowly sat up, still alive and well. Except for the giant gash in her leg from the arrow. "Wait, she's still alive?!" Daniel exclaimed. Weirdly, it seemed it was more out of anger and frustration rather than a really good and happy surprise.
"Yeah, and that is a good thing, correct?" Hayden asked Daniel.
"Yes!" He exclaimed, but not quite sure of himself it seemed.
"Well, I know there probably isn't a good medical help here, but we could look in Shian's room for the medical kit he always carried," Beatrix suggested.
"Yeah, let's look there," Hayden agreed, "Beatrix, you stay here with Sadie, she is your best friend, and Daniel and I will go look for the kit."
"Okay," Beatrix said. She went straight to Sadie's side and the boys soon left.
"Hey, Beatrix," Sadie murmured.
"Oh my gosh, Sadie you scared me to death! When I heard your scream, I thought you were dead like Shian. I got so scared," Beatrix confessed, "How did you get shot with the arrow?"
"Well, I was in here with Daniel, and right after he hugged me, my vision went black, like I was still conscious, but I couldn't see. I felt a burning stab in my leg and screamed and my vision returned and I saw Daniel crying by my side," Sadie said, slowly with deep breaths in between her words.
"That must have been terrifying," Beatrix said, holding Sadie's hand.
"It was," Sadie said.
"Just so you know, the reason I'm not sobbing on the ground is because I don't want you to see me like that, I want you to see me as strong when you are hurt and need strength to heal," Beatrix said.
Sadie chuckled, "Thanks."
"No problem," Beatrix answered. She gave Sadie a big hug and went back to her seat. "So, what were you doing with Daniel?" Beatrix asked.
"We were hanging out, he suddenly had interest in my interests, so that was kind of weird." Sadie said.
"Oh, he probably couldn't think of something for you two to do, so he wanted to do what you like," Beatrix said.
"And why were you here instantly with Hayden?" Sadie asked with a grin, "Were you two hanging out?"
"Yes, and I had my first actual kiss with Hayden!" Beatrix exclaimed.
"Really!" Sadie exclaimed, "I'm so happy for you two! What was it like?"
"Well, it was-" Beatrix was cut off by the boys entering in the room, "I'll tell you later," she added in a whisper. Sadie nodded.
"We're here!" Hayden exclaimed.
"With a medical kit!" Daniel exclaimed right after.
"How long did it take for you two to rehearse that?" Beatrix asked with a laugh.
"About two minutes, but who cares! We're here now!" Hayden said.
The four of them laughed and Hayden opened up the kit. They soon got Sadie patched up, but then a guard came through the door.
"You all need to get out of here, now," the guard said.
"Well, don't we all wish to, but the doors are kind of locked, the walls are concrete, and the windows are barred and there is magic, so each time I try breaking stuff to get out, nothing happens except my hand hurts," Hayden ranted.
"I'm on your side and I know a way out, I over heard the plans earlier to kill Sadie, and obviously they weren't a success because she's still here, but still we need to leave before another one of you is killed." The guard said.
"Why didn't you tell us this before I was almost killed?" Sadie asked.
"Doesn't matter now, we all need to go, except for Daniel," the guard said, nervously.
"Why?" Daniel asked.
"Because he's on Kalina's side still, the plans to kill him were false," the guard said, "He killed Shian and almost killed Sadie."
