Sadie jolted up and out of bed. She had just began drifting off to sleep when somebody screamed bloody murder. She ran out of her room to see Hayden, Beatrix, and Daniel. "Where's Shian?!" Sadie asked worriedly.
"I don't know, he hasn't come out," Hayden replied.
The guard walked up to the group. The same guard that had forced Beatrix from Hayden's room and had told them that they would die whenever Kalina wanted without warning without emotion. "You guys aren't safe here," he said quickly and quietly.
"Yeah, we kind of noticed when you told us that we could DIE," Beatrix said annoyed, "But anyway, where is Shian?"
"I don't know, maybe check his room?" The guard suggested, "Did you think of that, you geniuses?"
"Don't be sarcastic with us," Sadie muttered. They all walked to his room and knocked on the door.
"Hello, are you there Shian?" Hayden asked through the door. No answer. Sadie slowly opened the door.
Shian's eyes were glossy and he was staring up at the ceiling. His skin was pale and blood was on the sides of his mouth. There was a large gash across his head and another along his stomach. There where stab marks in his stomach and a note by his side. They all ran over to Shian's limp body. They read the note;
Dear Sadie, Hayden, Beatrix, and Daniel,
Yes, as you have probably guessed, Shian is indeed dead. Or dying. Depends on when you see this note. Well anyway, he can't be saved. He's gone. Dead. No longer here. He left. Anyway, this was a warning to all of you, Shian got on my nerves, always trying to defeat me and such, and I thought, why not kill him? He is the leader of your little army thing. So know he's dead. And yes, I killed him. Well, that pretty much explains it. Enjoy your stay until your death.

Sadie threw the note to the ground. Tears started welling up in her eyes. How could Kalina do this, she thought. She thought that Kalina would wait and kill them all at the same time so it wouldn't be as emotionally painful. Soon, she started sobbing. She didn't like Shian at first, but he was her friend. And he didn't deserve to die. She looked to her side and saw Beatrix sobbing as well. Hayden was a little teary eyed, but none of us compared to Daniel. He was perfectly fine with it.
"How are you perfectly fine?!" Sadie asked through her heavy sobs, "You were his brother!"
"Yes, but I work for Kalina," he said, "I have to accept it."
"No you don't, you idiot!" She screamed, "Didn't you hear the guard?! You're going to be killed as well! You no longer work for Kalina!"
"Woah, calm down Sadie," he said wrapping his arm around her.
"I won't calm down you imbecile!" She yelled, pushing him off of her, "Just get away from me!"
"Sadie, it's okay, we can do this without him, we just need to get through this," Beatrix said, trying to stop her sobs and wiping her eyes.
"No it's not!" Sadie screamed.
"Sadie, calm down," Hayden said calmly.
"Just stop, all of you!" She yelled, "This isn't about the war anymore! It's about our friend, and if you guys can't realize that, just go away! All of you!" She stormed out of Shian's room and to her own. She laid down on her bed and sobbed. She regretted what she said to her friends. They were just trying to calm me down, she thought. She curled up under the covers and cried herself to sleep, hoping her friends would forgive her.

I'm going to go with this thing called potato chip casserole, it has potatoes in it, and cheese, and butter, and onions, and sour cream, and has potato chips on top and it's amazing!
