Laurie POV

We are in front of his parents house right now and he's opening the door and as he does he gives my hand a reassuring squeeze and smile before pushing it open and the first thing we see are Shawn's family and some people I've never seen before under a banner that says 'welcome home Shawn!'

"Awe thank you so much guys!" Says Shawn letting my hand go to hug everyone and I just stand there not knowing what to do.

"Um Shawn who's that?" A girl with black hair and blue eyes asked she was lightly tanned and she looked beautiful. Yet the moment she opened her mouth that changed she was snotty and I could tell arrogant. I have the amazing gift for knowing how someone is just by how they talk and act when I first meet them. I can tell if someone is nice, mean, arrogant, defensive, lying, being rude, etc. Even if I don't know them.

"Oh sorry guys." Said Shawn walking back to me and wrapping me in his big arm to his side smiling big.

"This is my girlfriend Laurie." Said Shawn making everyone's eyes widen.

"It's nice to meet you." I say shyly.

"You're cheating on me?" My eyes snapped to the girl with black hair from before and I raised an eyebrow why is everything telling me this girl is Layla?

"No I'm not, Layla, we ended things a long time ago." Said Shawn annoyed.. so I was right.

"You said we only ended things because you were always gonna be on tour but now you're back.. I thought we could get back together and.." I cut her off.

"I'm sorry did I miss something? I'm standing right here you know? And I really don't appreciate you talking to my boyfriend like that, specially not in front of me." I say raising an eyebrow at her and she glared.

"Last time I checked you aren't supposed to be here and secondly this is a conversation between me and him." She says making me nod and look at her.

"Yeah you're right, I wasn't supposed to be here yet here I am. And yeah this conversation may be between you and him but you're having it in front of everyone and let's not forget me. Don't expect me not to get involved." I say.

"Who do you think you are bitch?" She spat and I almost laugh.

"I will not answer to that. I will not lower myself to your level." I say and I hear an 'ohh' and I look to the side to see Aaliyah there making me smile.

"You little!" She yells and I see her transformed making my eyes widen at the grey wolf in front of me and I see Shawn get in front of me but I took his hand and smiled at him.

"It's ok baby. I can handle this." I say taking a step closer to her.

"Princess don't!" He yelled when Layla moved to attack me I smirk.

"Down girl." I command and just like that she was laying down in front of me looking up to me and I could see the anger in her eyes as everyone looked at me surprised.

"I don't usually like using commands on animals but you are an exception. I'll tell you this once so listen good. Shawn is mine and mine alone, I'll allow your friendship since you've been friends for a long time and I don't want to control his life but if you ever try making a move on him again it will not end well for you. Have I made myself clear?" I ask.

"Bitch." She says and I sigh.

"Funny how you would say that when you're in a position like this." I say.

"I'm not playing when I say it won't end well you know." I say feeling myself lose the little patience I have.

"So you have been warned. You can go now." I say turning around and closing my eyes trying to relax.

"Princess?" I hear Shawn's voice and that was enough to calm me down.

"I'm sorry." I say opening my eyes and look down.

"Don't be baby girl she looked for it." He says kissing my forehead.

"Hi." I looked to where the voice came from and I saw Aaliyah there.

"Hey." I say giving her a small smile.

"So you're my brother's girlfriend?" She asked and I nodded.

"You better treat him right.. though after that little show you put on I seriously doubt you won't. Welcome to the family." She says smiling at me making me smile big.

"Thank you so much." I say as she hugs me.

"I really like you're hair where did you dyed it?" She asked and I look at her weird.

"It's not dyed." I say.

"No? Then how is it that color?" She asked curious.

"I'm part witch and witches have the hair color of the element they can use." I say and she looked at me eyes wide.

"Witch? As in magic and stuff?" She asked and I nodded.

"Don't worry I'm not a dark magic witch and I don't often use my element since it's fire." I say.

"That is so cool." She says making me smile.

"So you can light things on fire and things like that?" She asks making me giggle.

"I can, my eyes turn orange when I use my element though. And they turn purple when I'm doing normal magic or as you probably saw using command ability." I say.

"Where did that one come from thought? I've never seen that one and you didn't mention it either." Said Shawn making me look down.

"I really don't like using that ability since it makes me feel horrible for making people or animals do what I want so that's why you hadn't seen it and I didn't mention it. It comes from dad. Since he's the god of nature itself it means that he can control everything that has life.. I inherited that ability." I say making them nod.

"That's pretty cool." Says Aaliyah and I nodded slowly.

"I guess." I say.

"So does that mean that the two of you are mates?" She asked making Shawn and me look at each other.

"Yeah." We say at the same time with a smile.
