Chapter One, First Sight, First Lesson

Chapter One, First Sight, First Lesson

For the first time since having to constantly attend school, Jasper was in a rush to get to his first lesson to be near and to see his mate before the bell had even rung. Major was going mad inside him wanting Jasper to be close to their mate, to kiss her, hold her and mark her. But even Major didn't want to risk their mates' court case or her son and that was the only thing stopping him from acting on those impulses.
"You do know you can't be with her until you graduate!" Edward said snidely.
"Edward shut up!" Rosalie hissed.
"Don't you think I know that!" Jasper hissed, before he stalked off into the school for his first lesson; art.
"Well done!" Rosalie snapped sarcastically, glaring at him. "I'll see you later Em." Rosalie said, kissing his lips before she too headed off to art.

As Jasper approached the Art classroom he could hear Miss Greene filling his mate in on how he was graduating at Thanksgiving or at the latest at Christmas, just like how she graduated early, and couldn't stop the smug smirk that spread across his lips when he felt butterflies erupt within his mate's stomach at the mention of his name. As he entered the classroom both his mate's and Miss Greene's eyes turned to him.
"You're early today Jasper." Miss Greene remarked. Jasper just gave her a crooked smile and a one shouldered shrug.
"Edward was annoying me." He replied, his eyes fixed on his mate as Major squirmed in the back of his head.
"Jasper, this is Margot Lahote, our new teaching assistant. Margot, this is Jasper Hale." Miss Greene introduced.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Ma'am." Jasper said, holding out his hand as a small blush spread across her cheeks.
"Hi Jasper." Margot replied, placing her smaller hand in his larger, colder one but she didn't flinch at his coldness like others have and that made Jasper all the more proud. As Jasper shook her hand, he couldn't help but think of how he wanted to kiss the back of her dainty hand. She was smaller than Alice, but he held himself back by the skin of his teeth.
"Why don't you take your seat while Margot and I set up." Miss Greene suggested, nodding, Jasper sat at the front of the class instead of his usual place at the back. When Rosalie entered she stared at her brother confused for a moment before shrugging her shoulders and joining him at the front.

If he wanted to be as close as he could get to his mate right now, she wasn't going to stand in his way. Especially as Jasper is the oldest after Claire and Carlisle and has therefore been alone the longest; she wanted her brother happy it was as simple as that.
"Edward annoyed you too Rosalie?" Margot asked kindly. "Jasper said." She enlightened at Rosalie's frown.
"Yes. He's gotten more annoying since we moved here." Rosalie said with a huff, flicking her golden hair over her shoulder.
"That's younger siblings for you." Miss Greene said, as if she knew that feeling all too well.
"Or older. Paul can get like that at times." Margot said with a small laugh.
"By that laugh I take it you get your own back on your twin." Miss Greene said with a loud laugh, just as the bell rang and students started rushing into the classroom.

As they entered they were confused over why the two Hales were sitting at the front but didn't say anything as most were scared or at least wary of them and just moved on to the other available seats. While others, stopped and stared at Margot for a moment causing her to cross her arms and raise an eyebrow at them. Jasper letting growls rumble quietly from his throat as he clenched his hands tightly into fists.
"Take your seat McClogan." Miss Greene said sternly to the jock, noticing her colleague and already dear friend was feeling uncomfortable with the stares. Once everyone had taken their seats Eva and Margot turned towards the class leaning on the desk behind them.
"Now, in the last lesson we looked at different styles, paints, brushes and techniques you can use to create the most wonderful paintings or drawings." Miss Greene said, capturing everyone's attention.

"Now, for this lesson we will be looking at Edward Munch and his painting "The Scream"." She continued, pulling up a picture of said painting on the projector board behind them. "Now, our very own teaching assistant Miss Margot Lahote," Eva said, introducing Margot, who stood beside her and smiled at the class. "Has come up with the brilliant idea of you all to create your very own representation of "The Scream"."
"Just like she created a representation for her court case." A jock muttered to their friend who laughed.
"Mr Mallory!" Miss Greene shouted sternly and appalled. "Detention! I will not have that kind of talk in my classroom. I've already had to deal with your sister, after this lesson you and I shall have a talk with the Deputy Principal. Anyone else who makes such disgusting comments will find themselves expelled, do I make myself clear?" She asked the class.

"Yes, Miss Greene." The class replied.
"Good. As I was saying, you are to create a representation of this painting using a method of your choice." She finished, causing everyone to rush to the store cupboard at the back of the room to collect the supplies they'll need.
"People like you make me sick." Rosalie hissed at Jason Mallory. "Defending people who you know have done the crime they're accused of and even allowing them to splash money around to stay out of jail it's disgusting!" Jason Mallory had opened his mouth to retort only to see who stood in the doorway of the store cupboard and therefore blocking his exit; a very angry Rosalie and Jasper Hale. The words seemed to die in his throat when he saw them and their anger left him like a floundering fish.

After the initial bad start of Margot's day it took a turn for the better as her day progressed and it was only going to get better.

Claire Cullen praised herself on being able to put her gift to good use, being able to see the past of anyone or anything, with just the slightest look. Over the years she has developed it and she's been able to look at the past of someone by just looking at their picture which she had put to some good use at being able to find any and all dirt on the man no, scum bag who'd raped Jasper's mate and Riggs' family who were trying to bribe anyone they could to keep their son out of prison and take Margot's son from her and what she's found is downright disgusting and makes her want to tear out their throats despite never having killed anyone like her brother.

Apparently, Riggs has done this before to numerous other women and when the women press charges and get him sent to prison the family step in and bribe anyone they could to get the child taken away from the mother and given to them, only for the Riggs family to put the child up for a closed adoption so the mother would never ever see her child again. Well, she'll be damned if she let that happen to Margot. She was going to make sure the whole rotten and monstrous family got sent down. Picking up the extremely large file she'd made she made her way to her boss, Chief Charlie Swan's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in." Charlie called. "Ahh, Claire. How're you settling in?" He asked kindly, despite being stressed at trying to find something on the Riggs family.

"Very well thank you. But I have something you'll be very interested in seeing." Claire said, handing him the file.
"How did you find all this? It's amazing and could truly send those bastards away for life." Charlie said, hope shining in his eyes.
"I was a Deputy in Alaska and the Sheriff there was always sour they'd gotten away. They were in Alaska before we moved there. He helped me piece things together and sent over what I worked on while I was there." Claire said, giving a little white lie.
"Well done. I've got to give this to Jamie. Can you hold down the fort until either I or Deputy Jameson gets back. Oh, there's definitely a promotion in the bag for you. Well done Claire." Charlie said proudly.
"Of course, go." Claire said, smiling as she felt very satisfied with herself. She knew this would be a weight off Margot's shoulders, off of her friends and families and off of Jasper's. She was just glad she could help her family.

As Margot was walking over to Paul who was standing by their motorbike waiting to take her home to her precious baby boy, she got a phone call from their father.
"Hi Dad." Margot greeted with a smile.
"Hi sweetheart. How was your first day? I've also got some news." Jamie told her.
"It was okay. Started out rough due to a kid of his lawyers, but after that it was okay. What news?" Margot asked nervously, putting the phone to her other ear so Paul could hear.
"I'm sorry that happened sweetheart but they won't be a problem anymore. Claire Cullen found some serious dirt on not just him but the whole family, Chief Swan gave it to me just after lunch. I've taken it to the judge and they've scheduled an emergency court case." Jamie explained eagerly.

"Really?" Paul asked hopefully.
"Yes. He's going to be sent away and the court case is on Friday at noon so you'll need to get time off for it." Jamie told both his children. Of course he knew Paul was listening, the twins barely left each other's sides - even more so now after what happened to Margot.
"Okay, I'll speak to the Principal tomorrow. He wasn't in today and the Deputy is dealing with the Mallory siblings." Margot said happily, looking up she caught the eyes of one Jasper Hale who smiled at her causing Margot to smile back.
"Okay. Well, I've got to go but I'll see you both tonight. Drive safe and love you two. Oh, Friday take the Impala, not your bike.

It should be finished with the MOT by then but I'll check on my way home." Jamie added.
"Thanks Dad. Drive safe too and love you too." The twins replied before they hung up.
"This is amazing. I knew we'd win. Now, let's get you home to Jay who is probably driving Leah mad asking for you." Paul said, hugging his sister before climbing onto the bike.
"Hold on." Margot said, before she walked over to the Cullen's. "Hi, sorry for stopping you on your way home but could you possibly thank your aunt, Claire for me please?" She asked.
"Why?" Edward asked shrewdly, only for Emmett to slap him around the head.

"Sorry about him. He's being rude to everyone today for some reason." Emmett apologised, sending a glare at him.
"Of course, Ma'am." Jasper agreed, his thick southern accent giving her butterflies but she mentally slapped her head. "I hope everything is alright?"
"Thank you. And it will be now. She'll know what I'm thanking her for. Have a good evening." Margot said, before she walked back over to her brother- put on the helmet and climbed on. Once she was secure Paul took off heading towards the Reservation and home. It only took the twins twenty minutes to get home and soon they were pulling up outside their white two storey house.

As they were climbing off and taking off their helmets Leah came out to greet them with a crying Jayden in her arms, who immediately stopped as soon as he saw his mother.
"Mama." Jayden said happily, reaching for her.
"He's been fine all day. It was only in the last five minutes or so that he started crying." Leah assured her best friend, who eagerly took her son and started kissing all over his face making the baby laugh. As Leah watched her best friend she couldn't help but feel sad and still feel guilty over what had happened to her - what was still happening to her. If she had a Time Turner and could turn it back to that moment and go to the bathrooms with Margot she would, but she can't.
"Thank you Lee-Lee." Margot said gratefully, smiling at her best friend. "Hey, stop feeling guilty. It wasn't your fault or Cara's." She added firmly.

"Especially as he and his whole rotten family are now being sent down for life come Friday." Paul added happily, taking Margot's bag out of the compartment.
"Seriously?" Leah asked hopefully.
"Yep. That monster is finally being sent down for good for hurting my baby sister, even if I would like to hurt him a little. And Margot's right; you and Cara need to stop blaming yourselves." Paul said, just as firmly.
"How about we watch Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone to celebrate?" Margot asked.
"I'll get the popcorn ready." Paul replied.
"And I'll set it up while you bond with Jay." Leah added, as they entered the house. Margot kicked off her heels by the door before heading to the sofa to relax and cuddle her baby boy. Things were finally looking up.
