Chapter Nineteen, Family Day Out

'Going back to this after relaxing yesterday is beyond annoying.' Jared groaned in Margot's mind. The white and grey/brown wolves pacing up and down the border of the Rez, the pair patrolling to make sure the Cullens stayed on their side and that no other vampire made it across onto their land. Jasper may be allowed on to Quileute land but that didn't mean that any of the others (especially Edward) was allowed on to the land.

'I know Jared,' Margot sighed, rolling her luminescent eyes, 'but the whole point of yesterday was for us to relax and bond as a pack and to refresh our minds so we can concentrate on this. Besides, how do you think I feel going back to teaching after a holiday?'
'Point taken.' Jared agreed. 'When does Jasper get back?'
'Today. He texted me last night asking to take Jay and I to a funfair, that's a couple towns over, after we finish patrol. I'm to meet him with Jay at the Cullens to pick him up.'
'Well, no getting up to any funny business.' Jared teased, letting out chuffing laughs when she head butted him in the shoulder. 'Actually, I should say some more funny business.'

'Bleurgh! Could you not Jared!' Paul's voice complained as a dark silver wolf, a light grey wolf with black spots and light coloured nose, and a large jet black wolf approached the Alpha Luna and Beta. 'I really don't want to hear that part of my twin's love life, who's the other half of my soul, nor have that image thank you very much.'
'Oh, are you sure, you're not just bringing it up for pointers, Jared?' Cara teased. 'I bet they have amazing sex!'
'Shut up Cara!' Paul complained. 'And pay attention you're still training.' He huffed.

'You're all jerks.' Margot huffed, rolling her eyes as she turned her head towards Sam. 'Nothing's happened so it should be quiet.'
'Thanks Marlie, go have fun.' Sam nudged his large head gently against her both in a brother greeting (wolf version of a hug) and shooing both her and Jared home.
'See you later.' Margot bid before she took off running back to Sam's and Emily's place in a race against Jared which she won.

Smirking at the grey/brown wolf as he had just arrived the second she walked out of the trees fully dressed, giggling as she walked up the small steps at Jared's disgruntled appearance.
"I take it you best Jared. Again." Emily laughed, looking up from strapping Jayden into the high chair.
"Mama." Jayden shouted elated to see his mother as he made grabby hands at her.
"Hi baby." Margot smiled, kissing her son on the forehead. "Have you been good for Auntie Emily? And yes I did." She added towards Emily.
"He's been good as gold." Emily assured as Jared walked through the door.

"Good." Margot smiled, kissing Jayden's hair once more before accepting the blueberry muffin from Emily with a smile of thanks.
"It's still not fair on how fast you are." Jared grumbled, biting harshly into the chocolate muffin in his hand, but despite his words a teasing look was in his chocolate brown eyes assuring Margot he meant nothing by it and was only teasing. Which she responded to by sticking her tongue out at him, smiling as she listened to her son's giggles and her best friend's laughs.
"Jare, can you watch Jay while I go get ready please?" Margot asked once she'd fed her son and eaten her full herself. Finishing off her cup of tea. She wanted to change out of the red tank top and navy jean shorts that she was currently wearing and into something nice.

"Of course." Jared smiled, hugging and kissing her temple in a brotherly gesture as he swapped seats with her. "Mummy will be back soon, little man." Jared assured his nephew who had started whining as he watched his mother and Emily head upstairs. The elder woman had promised to do her hair ready for her date. For the next hour, Jared entertained his nephew by making sure didn't want anymore to eat or drink after Margot had fed him before taking into the living room to play with him; building his blocks, filming him with his own smile and laugh as Jayden excitedly knocked them down before he would end the video and rebuild the tower starting off a evening circle that Jared was more than happy to participate in.

"Wow." Jared breathed, staring at his little sister as she came into sight, having heard her before he saw her thanks to his wolf hearing. "You look beautiful, Marlie, Jasper won't know what hit him." He complimented, grinning as a blush stole over Margot's cheeks.
"Thanks Jare." Margot smiled, stooping down to pick up her son. "Ready to go see Daddy, baby?" She asked pecking his cheek.
"Yay Daddy." Jayden cheered happily, clapping his hands making everyone laugh.
"Okay say bye to auntie Emily and uncle Jared." Margot coaxed.
"Bye-bye." Jayden said, waving to Emily and Jared who waved back to the two year old, pecking his cheeks.

Arriving at the Cullens, Margot noticed that Edward was standing outside in the driveway with a harsh glare on his face and his arms crossed over his chest. Sighing as she knew this wasn't going to be pleasant, Margot got out of the impala, leaving Jayden in the back playing with his grey wolf cuddly toy.
"What do you want, Edward?" Margot asked with a heavy sigh and a roll of her eyes.
"You have no place here or with Jasper, mutt!" Edward snarled, teeth bared at the woman who simply raised an unimpressed eyebrow at him with a scoff as she put her hands on her hips.

"I've been called worse by much better people and I could easily take you down if you deign to threaten me again. But I won't 'cause my son is here. However, if you ever insult me again, I will rip your head off your pathetic body and give it to my pack brothers and sister to play football with." Margot said in a dangerously calm voice. "Am I understood? I said: "Am I understood?" Edward glared meekly at her before he finally and reluctantly nodded his head. He knew if he broke the treaty then Carlisle and Esme would never take him back especially if Claire and Rosalie had anything to say about it; that's if Jasper or the pack of mutts didn't kill them all (him) first.

A booming laugh followed her words followed by a melodic laugh and a loud enraged growl. Looking towards the door she saw Emmett and Rosalie laughing at Edward, 'the golden child for many years', being put in his place, plus they knew she was more than fully capable of handling herself both in wolf form and out. Next to them stood her handsome and angry mate, his eyes showing that Major had taken over at the threat to their mate.
"Major, I'm fine." Margot was quick to reassure her angry mate. "Let's not let this pathetic son of a bitch ruin our day as a family. Plus, Jay is itching to see his Daddy." She added.

"Of course darlin'." Major assured sending her a loving smile, however, on his way over he picked Edward in the door, sending him flying backwards into the garage doors. "If you ever threaten my mate or our son again I will end you Edward. I mean it: stay away if you know what's good for you. I don't give second chances and neither does Jasper." Major growled warningly, with one last harsh glare at Edward he turned on his heel towards Margot and pulled her into his arms for a heated passionate kiss. "You look gorgeous, my love." Major drawled lovingly, giving her one last peck to her lips he turned towards his son who lit up over finally seeing his Daddy.

"Daddy!" Jayden cheered, hugging Major tightly around the neck causing him to recede and let Jasper take control once more, sure in the knowledge that both Margot and Jayden were okay and safe.
"Hi lil' man." Jasper greeted, kissing his son's forehead as he relished in having him back in his arms as he took in his scent. "Have you been good for your Mama?"
"Yeah. Can we play now?" Jayden asked cutely, his little dimple showing in his left cheek.
"Of course. Let's go." Jasper agreed, smiling as Jayden cheered and waved to Emmett and Rosalie as he babbled happily to them in the back as Jasper pulled out of the drive.

One hand resting on Margot's thigh. "I love you." Jasper whispered lovingly.
"I love you too Major." Margot whispered, kissing Jasper's cheek, a content sigh escaping her lips as she rested her head on Jasper's shoulder feeling fully relaxed as the impala peeled down the roads towards the funfair a few towns over; a happy content bubble filled the car as all of the tension bled out of them as they played eye-spy with Jayden and listened to what he was saying and agreeing when they had to. It was nice to get away from the werewolf-vampire drama of Forks for a bit and just be what they needed and what they could really only be at home: a family of three.
