🔅Chapter Three ::Sting:: 🔅

Today we are going to some guy who calls himself Sting house to see what he knows about the wolf, all the facts that we need to come close to catching him. We need to put a stop to these killings, luckily enough, last night no attacks were reported but that doesn't mean none happened.

I parked the truck, looking out the window at the house. It is a small brick house that is well decorated. It doesn't look like a guy by the name Sting, will live there. Shit it doesn't look like any guy lives there. It looks like an old lady obsessed with flowers house, even the curtains are covered in flowers with cupcakes. Seriously?

"Are you sure this is the right house?" I asked Cody seeing that he was the one who gathered the information, yesterday. He looks just as gobsmacked as me.

"I'm certain it is the right address, the house not so much." He replied, we share a look at each other shrugging.

"If this is keeping it lowkey he is doing a good job at it because I would have never guessed." I spoke looking at the house again maybe hopping it'd change because I can't believe it. "Let's go and hope it's not some old lady who ties us down for cookies." I called the shots, getting out the truck with my keys in my hand, walking around the front of the truck to Cody's side.

We both Inhaled deeply, before beginning to walk towards the house, up the driveway, covered with different little flowers and butterflies ordainments. This is weird, I'm certain we are at the wrong house. When we reached the door, we looked at each other with looks that basically says 'at least we tried, if it is wrong house. Cody took the lead and knocked the door, leaving me to look around at the normal looking houses around.

"Who is it?" A feminine voice asked from behind the door. Cody's and my eyes widen as we looked at each other confused. Should we tell her or run? Cody shrugged looking at my face. Uh.. The peep hole opened and an eye was starring at us. Creepy......

"Uh, Cody and Randy." I spoke up saying. The peep close and Cody and I was left confused for a second before hearing the door, opening. When the door opened a man with his face covered in black and white paint was standing there, dressed in black. Okay this just got weirder..... I'm pretty sure my mouth is almost touching the floor.

"Uhh...." Cody tried to say something but was too in shock like I am to even try to get a word out. 'Sting' looked at us both not impressed but use to the reaction.

"Hurry and enter." He turned and walked into his home while Cody and I gave each other unsure looks but entered, I closed the door behind me.

"Wow." Both Cody and I say as we entered a bit more, it's completely different on the inside, more black than anything, leather couches, rustic pieces of furniture.

"So I assume you are here because of the wolf." He correctly started the conversation, walking over to a Chester draw. "Bourbon?" He offered, raising a glass.

"Is the glass clean?" Cody asked causing to me too face palm myself, embarrassed. Sting laughed.

"Ah, he's a fairy." He claimed which got me to snicker and Cody too look at me pissed off. "What about you tattooed boy?" He offered.

"Please." I said with much emphasis. He nodded, pouring me and himself a glass before giving it too me.

"Take a seat guys." He insisted. Both Cody and I followed, sitting on a surprisingly comfortable chair, I wasn't expecting that. I took a sip of the bourbon and it is surprisingly strong, clearly well aged.

"This is some good stuff." I commented, taking a next drink of it. Cody looked at us curiously, clearly not happy with his decision.

"Thanks kiddo, but let's get to business. Let's get to the reason as to why you both are really here." He flipped the subject, Cody nodded, clearly ready to learn about this werewolf, eager even.

"Werewolves traces back to centuries ago. This much we all know." We nodded. "The werewolf we have is from the most powerful, gifted line ever known. It's a firewall wolf, the firewalls are the only werewolves who can transform into a full wolf without it being on a full moon, painlessly. Others lines can't, unless they go through a heap of pain which mostly all aren't willing to do. Like all other wolves the firewalls are most powerful at full moon, only catch being is that at full moon like the rest of the other lineages of wolves they change into a wolf against their will and painfully, it is the only night they are set to have a painful transition." My eyebrows knitted together. It doesn't make sense. Why would it hurt on a full moon when all the other times it doesn't hurt?

"How come it hurts when they transition on a full moon apart from other nights?" Cody asked the question that has been on my mind. Sting cracked a smile.

"Because even the best of things have their downsides." He answered and I guess it makes sense. Shit, they can't have it all. "It is also proven that they have the most painful turn out of all the wolves species on a full moon." Now, we are getting to the downsides. "It is the worst pain imaginable for them or anyone really. Some don't even change but experience the full brunt of it." Yikes, I thought, just picturing it. "It can last hours on end."

"That seems like shit." I said out loud, not about the story but going through the pain but not turning. Sting shrugged.

"That's how it goes. The pain can be so bad it wipes the person's memory in their wolf form, having them attack and kill people they love and care for. That's the downside to being a firewall wolf." Well shit.

"But when they do transition it is when they are at the peak of all their strength, power and speed, being able to out run a cheetah."

"Wow." Both Cody and I spoke, unintentionally. Sting nodded.

"Yup. The werewolf attacking people here, is one of them. They seem to have no trouble changing at midnight and usually transform on a nightly bases. They are the last of their kind here." He went on to teach.

"What happened to the others?" I asked, curiously and lost, not seeing how an entire species of such powerful wolves can just be wiped out like that. Cody looked at me then at Sting.

"Witches." He vaguely answer but to see what he meant didn't take a genius to figure it out. The only thing left to ask is...

"Why?" My best friend basically brother beat me to the chase of asking, intently watching the weird man whose face is covered in black and white paint.

"The details are still sketchy as to why they did what they did. They place a curse upon the wolves that stuck them in wolf form being unable to change. They also strip them of their strength, speed and power. Police and hunters went into the bayou and killed them all. All but one. The one who is killing people now." Sting took a swing of his liquor.

"But how did that one change back? Was it a temporary curse or what?" Cody asked a brilliant question, I wasn't even thinking of. I took a drink, awaiting the answer to his question.

"No it was permanent alright." Sting answered and my head cocked a bit to the side not getting it.

"So how did this one change back?" I bewilderedly questioned. I've yet to connect the dots to this puzzle.

"A witch." He chuckled at what I'm guessing is the irony of it all. "One who needed the wolf by their side. They went in search for the hiding wolf, catching it and breaking the spell. That very day witches got killed by the dozen form an animal attack. No one truly knows why they changed and made the wolf kill their own family and coven."

I bit my lip thinking about it, trying to figure out the missing details of the story that Sting doesn't seem to know.

"Why are you in hiding?" Cody asked causing me to lift my head from the glass, I wasn't even aware I was staring at to look at him.

"Because I know too much and they know I know. I've had to have this house cloaked so they won't find me. I don't know their names because it seems like they have wiped my memory clean of it, I don't even remember how they look like, all I know is that I had the sudden urge to hideout or else I'd be killed." He explained and that made things even more weird.

"Huh." The word fell from my lips. Strange. What the hell is going on here? Surely something more was up than what mets the eyes. All we need to do know is figure out what it is.

"Do you know their pattern? Like where they should be tonight?" I questioned needing a lead on this person. He raised his shoulders.

"It hunts without a pattern. I guess who ever upsets them during the day or whatever, gets it." Sting told and I sighed. The ones without the pattern are always the hardest ones to catch.

Brie's pov

I followed Randy's truck, using a stolen car. I know he isn't just with the FBI and he is up to something and that something is killing me, the wolf. So I know he is going around seeking information. My brows furrowed when I saw the old flower lady's house is the one they stopped by. They came to visit their grandma? I thought looking at Randy and who I am assuming to be his buddy or brother, I don't know.

I turned my wolf hearing on, listening in. I heard and saw them knock, unsure looks on their faces, I then heard a woman's voice asked who is it. Judging by their faces I know that wasn't what they were expecting, so I paid closer attention. I heard them introduced themselves as Randy and Cody. I looked as the door opened and gasped when I saw Sting. He is still in town. I legit thought he fled. "Shit, I have to tell him about this." I muttered to myself watching as Cody and Randy entered. I couldn't hear anything else when the door closes, I guess he had his house supernatural proof.

I pulled out my phone, dialing his number up. Pick up, pick up, pick up, I urged mentally.

"You'd never believe who is still in town?" I said as soon I heard him breath into the phone.

"Well hello to you too." He sarcastically remarked causing me to roll my eyes.

"Listen, this is serious." I told him, not in the mood for playing games or being sarcastic. I heard him inhaled like he is ready to be serious. I guess he was in a playful mood.

"Who is still in town? This better be good to make me get all serious." I heard the transformation in his voice, knowing he has gone into a different mode, almost like a different person state.

"Sting." I simply said knowing I don't need to say anything more. I heard him gasp and I nodded, still looking at the door.

"What?! Where?!" He shouted into the phone, clearly in disbelief, hurting my ears. Well ow.

"He is staying on Scott road, house number...." I look around for the mailbox, knowing it will have the number. "45B9. You can't miss it, it is the house with the most flowers and cupcakes and flower curtains."

"Cupcakes and flowers? Are you sure that is Sting? How did you even find him?" The uncertainty clear in voice. I rolled my eyes at the question.

"Yes I'm sure. His hideout was to hide in plain sight in a house no one will think is his..... It is genius really. I saw him." I explained.

"Did he see you?" I shook my head but then remembered he can't see me.

"No, I'm hiding out in a car." I let him know, waiting for the two to return and hopefully say something that will confirm they were talking about me.

"Shit." I heard and felt a presence right next to me, I jumped and flash my wolf eyes and teeth ready to kill, only to see him there. I gritted my wolf teeth at him before huffing and going back to full human form.

"Don't sneak up on a werewolf." I said, knowing he used magic to come here. "And how much of my hair do you have?" He had to use either my hair or blood but I'm most certain it was my hair since he always pluck out a strand. I'm surprised I still have hair. He smirked.

"Not your hair or blood but your fur." He looked me in the eyes saying in a way that says 'you owe me, and you're messy af'. I scrunch my nose up. "Do you know how hard it is to gather all that wolf hair so no other witch can find it and trace it back to you?" He questioned and I sulked.

"I thought you had it witch proof so no other witch can find out I was the one who survived?" I questioned uncertainly. He sighed, resting his back on the seat.

"There is always a loop hole in magic. A witch powerful enough and smart enough sure as hell will find one."  He explained and I can't argue with that. I'm just thankful for him.

"How did you know he was here?" He switches the topic.

"I followed the guy I met in the woods. The one we talked about. Yeah. I saw him and his brother and they had this look on their faces and I immediately got the urge to follow them. I stole this car from some idiot and here I am. It's a good thing I acted on instinct." I explained.

We stayed silent for a couple of minutes, our interest peeking when we saw Randy and Cody walking out.

"Listen in." He nudged my arm saying, I glared at him.

"I know dipshit." I replied, listening in on what they are saying, repeating what I hear. "It has no pattern and it is a firewall wolf. His family was killed and a witch saved him." I repeated Randy's words. Glancing at my friend who saved me. "It really sucks he doesn't remember who they were." I gasp at Cody's words. Sting do remembered us. "They must have wiped his memory, the witch." Cody added. I looked at him but he shook his head.

"He left before I had the chance to do anything." He explained to me, the things I already know.

"That can only mean Sting lied to them about that bit. But he definitely gave them some true information." I said. He told them what happened and what kind of wolf I am.

"What do you say we do about him?" I was asked by him. I looked over at him.

"We kill him. Let's end him once and for all." I gave the order. He smirked deviously at me. I return it raising my brows a bit. He held my hand and witched my into Sting's house which was a lot more different and manlier on the inside.

"Buddy!" 'X' greeted standing besides me. I can feel Sting's fear and nervousness upon hearing the voice that can only belong to X. He slowly turned around and we waved at him. You don't even need werewolf senses to see he is scared, his eyes says it all. Though he isn't surprised. "Ta da! We found you." X cheered, in mock playfulness, he can be really twisted.

"I didn't give away your identities." Sting pleaded, looking at us, his eyes begging for his life.

"But you did give away the type of wolf I am, what I went through, how I got changed back." I told him angrily.

"Brie look I'm sorry." He apologized. "You too." I share a look with the witch.

"Time is up buddy. I hope you had a nice life Steve." X informed him, using Sting's birth name as I laughed along with him. Sting shaking his, clasping his hands, begging us not too kill him. I don't feel shit for him.

"Bye." I simply said, hissing. He tried to run but the witch besides me used his power, dragging Sting towards me, against his will, simply using a finger. "You shouldn't have said anything and then maybe you would have lived to see a next day." I told him, he went to say a next work but I used my claws and rip his head right off his neck. "Let's get out of here." I told him, he nodded, using his magic to make us reach back at his place.
