🔅Chapter one::Two Sleeves of Tats::🔅

Randy's pov

My best friend (practically brother) and I are staying in New Orleans for a while. We got notice that there is some psycho badass, human by day, wolf by night, terrorizing the city. Apparently they kill about a dozen people at night. If you're out, then you are in bad luck. Most people stay inside but since the locals try to cover up the murders, tourist wander about the streets at nights. And quite frankly, it's NOLA after all, the place is notorious for not sleeping and partying.

The last set of killings he did, took place in the woods, so I'm heading out there to see what I can gather from this lunatic, while he is still human and not looking to kill me.

"Randy where the hell are you going?" Cody, appeared from the room he claimed as his, asking with much concern.

"It's none of your business, I'll be fine," I replied. Cody, narrowed his blue eyes at me, clearly upset with my answer. I sighed, rolling my eyes. "I'm going out to the woods," I ended up confessing. I regretted it after due to the shock and angry look his face.

Cody began to walk closer to me, talking. "Are you crazy?! That lunatic can still be there! You could get killed!" I flinched and rolled my eyes.

I dug my hand in my pocket, pulling out an actual silver bullet, smirking. "He only kills at night. And let's just say if he is still lingering there, then I won't be the one getting killed." I looked at the bullet between my two fingers. "All it takes is one of these bad boys to the heart and it is over for him." I clicked my tongue against my teeth.

Cody sighed, not as upset anymore but still not a fan of the idea. "Then I'm coming with you," He claimed, starting to walk out the door. I stopped him, shaking my head. He looked at me in disbelief and annoyance.

"No, you are going to stay here and gather all the information we need. Because if I don't catch that dick today. We need to study their pattern and see," I instructed, seriously. Cody still doesn't seem fine with me going there by myself. "I'll be fine. Trust me." I patted his shoulder. Turning, walking to door, grabbing my coat while tucking the pistol into my pants pocket. Cody seems on edge still. "Trust me, I'll be fine. Get working on what we need. We need to kick that wolf's ass." Ah, there it is. He cracked a smile and I returned it, leaving, closing the door behind me.

I parked my black truck, getting out when I reach the place, called the bayou, where the wolf, last killed. I began to walk, looking for clues or anything. I pulled out the map, to see exactly where the killings happened and it looks like I'm close. I kept my gaze to the ground, walking. My eyes narrowed, spotting what seemed to be a drip of dried blood on the fallen leaf. I kneeled down, looking at it. I'm definitely close. I'm looking for paw prints, anything but I'm not getting anything, just leaves.

I then spotted a blue piece of cloth, which made me rush over to it, I bend and picked it up. I looked at it and saw it had a rip in the middle. A rip not cost by any scissors but by what seemed to be claws. This is good, I'm getting stuff. I stick the piece of fabric in my pocket. Cody may want to see this.

"What the...?" I muttered, when my eyes caught the tree, near me. I walked over to it and no doubt saw scratches. Scratches that weren't cost by no man but animal. And not some squirrel but a big animal, like a bear...or wolf, yip, a wolf. "Cody got to see this," I spoke to myself, pulling out my phone, taking a picture of it. I then ran my hand over the scratch and it is pretty deep. It slashes across, meaning that someone could have been standing there, he tried to kill them but missed at first. Claws slicing the tree instead the of person.

I eyed it for a while longer and then walked off, trying to find more things. Things that I can actually use against this monster. "What the?" My heart starting to beat when I heard footsteps, well, leaves crunching. He is still here, I thought. I pulled out my gun and quickly turn to the direction it was coming from, pointing my gun.

"Ahh!" The girl screamed when she saw me...or my gun.... or the combination. Her eyes wild, fearful look in them. Oh, shit. I tuck my gun away, looking at the scared girl. I began to approach her but she stepped back, stumbling and falling down on her butt. "You're him." She muttered, loudly enough for me to hear. Wait, what? I'm who? Oh... She thinks I'm the- she began to shiver in fear. "It makes sense, I've never seen you around before," She told, still sitting on her butt, almost like she couldn't find the strength to stand up but she is brave. I wanted to speak but she kept talking. "Why do you have a gun?" Her face confused, "Aren't you just going to wolf up and kill me? Or is the wolf attack thing, just a way to cover up you're a serial killer?" She questions. Brave one, she is.

"I'm not the wolf," I finally spoke up. She cocked her head slightly to the side, not believing me.

"Then why are you here?" She asked, softly. I chuckled.

"I can ask you the same," I joked which made her roll her brown eyes. She is quite beautiful, actually. Very beautiful, stunning even. "At least I brought protection," I added on. She huffed and stood back up, dusting off her jeans.

"So, I was right." She mumbled, looking down. My eyebrows scrunched up, confused as hell.

"Right about what?" I asked, she looked up at me, clearly forgetting I was there for a while.

"The whole wolf thing is a lie, that the police and the mayor are using to get us to stay inside. Too not come out. They said last night there was a wolf attack and some people believe that it's a 'werewolf'." Just the way she said werewolf made me know she doesn't believe in it, which she is wrong about.

"So, you're out here trying to prove that it doesn't exist?" I tried to make sense of her words. She shook her head, no.

"I'm out here trying to see what the mayor is trying to hide from us. Why they want us inside, so I can somehow expose them." The poor girl. Just because she doesn't believe in it, she can or could've gotten killed. Her eyes remained on me. "But you believe it, don't you?" Mockery, clear in her voice.

"Not necessarily. I'm bird hunting," I lied. She laughed and I knew she doesn't believe me.

"You don't use a pistol to bird hunt. It's okay, plenty idiots believe in that werewolf crap. I'll stay out here all night if I have too, to show that the police and the mayor are liars." She called my bluff while telling me her plan and there is no way I'm making her stay out here tonight. Her attention, left me and she looked around.

"Okay you got me, I'm not bird hunting. I'm an FBI....an undercover one, sent here from the Florida agency to see what is really happening. I can tell you now, you can't stay here tonight, you will get killed." I lied again but this time more believably. She walked over to me.

"And how do Florida knows what happens here? We do keep this stuff covered up quite well." She quizzed me, saying.

"A friend tipped us off. I'll give you guys that. You do a good job of not making these stories go viral," I replied with confidence. She looked at me in the eyes to see if I'm sincere or not, nodding.

"Cool. But I'm sure it's just a bluff, there is no blood or anything? How could so many people get killed and no blood remains? Makes no sense." She obviously didn't see the things I saw, but she was in a different area from here.

"Yeah, what is you're name?" I asked her. She smiled, looking at me. She has a gorgeous smile.

"Brianna but call me Brie. You are?" Eyebrows raising as she asked for my name, I laughed a bit.

"I'm Randy. And I thought you'd give a whole lot of talk before telling me your name." She shook her head, snickering.

"We have covered all the unnecessary talking and you seem annoying and I don't want to get annoyed....Randy." Shit, I think I'm falling for this girl already. I cracked up a bit.

"Smart move Brie," I emphasize on her name. We share smiles which made her rolled her eyes. "Wanna ride back to your place?" I offered.

"Can I trust a man with a gun, two sleeves of arm tattoos and a smile like that?" She challenged in a flirty way.

"Only one way to find out?" I slickly replied. Her grin widen by the second.

"Guess. I almost died once, why not risk my life again? Let's go mister FBI." She ordered after explaining her reason for coming with me.

"Let's go," I mumbled walking back to my truck with her, making sure we don't pass the tree with the claws so she can remain clueless to the actual truth.

"Nice ride," She complimented when we got there. I raised my shoulder with a 'what can I say' look on my face.

"I know." She shook her head at my answer but laughed. I like her, like her. That's new, I've never liked someone so quickly and genuinely before.
