Imperial in Disguise

Hey everyone! First, a quick shout out to HowlSeeker, who gave me this awesome idea. Thanks so much for the idea, my friend! I was even smiling at the thought of Zelara in Imperial clothing. Continuation of "Legends Never Die", by the way. Well, on with the show!

Almost half a year has passed, and I've really grown on the Rebels.

They've really become my family...

Right now, we were on Maitlyn, strategizing on a mission.

An assault on Delmi, a suffering, sister planet to Maitlyn, was going to happen, and we had to be there to evacuate all the citizens before the Empire destroys them.

Now, Hera, Zeb, and I were walking through the marketplace, talking about what we can do.

"Why don't we go undetected? We do have that new stealth mode feature, after all," Zeb said.

"True, but I haven't tested it out yet, and I don't want to accidentally give away our position instead of staying hidden." Hera said.

"Right, don't want that to happen."

I hummed in thought about what we should do.

"Well, one of us can go undercover, and try to get more information about how the Empire is going to wipe out Delmi." I said.

"Good idea, Zel, and you're perfect for the role." Hera said.

I did a double-take before looking at Hera in confusion.

"Me?" I asked.

"Yeah. Giving that you probably know more about Delmi than us, you can tell us all the ways to get the people off the planet without the Empire finding out." Zeb said.

"I do have a fair share of knowledge about Maitlyn's sister planet... Okay, I'll do it."

"Great, now you just need a disguise..." Hera said.

"I can help with that!" a voice called out.

We looked next to us and saw a Dressellian.

"Maverick!" I said happily.

"You know him?" Zeb asked.

"Of course. He used to work with my mother since she was a merchant here."

Zeb nodded in understanding.

"It's nice to meet you two. Any friend of Zelara is a friend of mine." Maverick said.

"Thanks. Back to what you were saying, you said you can help us with a disguise for Zelara, right?" Hera asked.

Maverick nodded and soon placed a box on the table. I opened it and pulled out whatever my hand touched first; it was a black helmet, but not just any helmet.

"An Inquisitor helmet?" I asked.

"Then, that means..." Zeb said.

He reached in and pulled out an Imperial Inquisitor uniform. Then, Hera pulled out the Inquisitor's lightsaber.

"How...?" I asked Maverick.

"When the city heard about what happened to our beloved Heidi and Kent, the city banded together and took down the Stormtroopers and the Inquisitor. We were planning on burning their armor, but I decided to keep the Inquisitor armor for myself since I am the one who struck him down." Maverick said.

Hera, Zeb, and I couldn't believe our ears.

"This is perfect. They definitely won't suspect me if I'm an Inquisitor." I said.

Hera and Zeb nodded in agreement.

"We can't thank you enough, Maverick. How much?" I asked.

Maverick shook his head and pushed the box forward.

"Take it." he said.

I stared at the Dressellian and smiled.

"Bring the Empire to its knees." Maverick said.

"Thank you..." I said.

We waved goodbye, with the box in hand, and walked back to the Ghost. Sabine, Chopper, Ezra, and Kanan welcomed us back with questions.

"So, what's the plan?" Ezra asked.

"This is the plan," I said, showing them the box.

"What's inside?" Sabine asked.

"Just wait and see."

I took the box into my room and shut the door behind me. I took out the uniform and tried it on.

A perfect fit... Thank goodness...

I put on the helmet and I activated the mask.

They acted like night vision goggles.

I took hold of the lightsaber and ignited it. Bright red, twin blades soon appeared. I smiled behind the mask and walked out of my room. I soon saw Hera and nodded. She glanced at me and nodded back.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet a good friend of mine." Hera said.

As if on command, I stepped into the common room, lightsaber activated and all. Ezra almost fell out of his seat when he saw me. Chopper spun his dome and began to warble in panic.

"Hera, get behind me!" Kanan said.

He and Ezra wasted no time activating their lightsabers, and Sabine held out her blasters. I chuckled behind the mask before removing it from my face. They all sighed with relief.

"How did you get Inquisitor clothing?" Sabine asked.

"A friend of mine had it stashed away in the marketplace. This is the outfit of the Inquisitor that killed my parents..." I said.

"Whoa... How did your friend get their hands on the armor anyway?" Kanan asked.

"When the city heard about Zelara's parents' death by the Inquisitor, the city worked together to take him down." Zeb said.

"That's so cool! You really look like an Inquisitor!" Ezra said.

I smiled brightly at the Padawan.

"That's what we're hoping for. I have a feeling there's a Star Destroyer on its way to Delmi to wipe out the planet now." Hera said.

"Well, let's not waste a second more. I'll sneak in the Destroyer and gather as much information for you guys as possible." I said.

Everyone nodded.

"Phoenix Squadron will be there when you give us the signal, Zela." Hera said.

"Once you get everyone from Delmi evacuated, head back to Maitlyn. They'll be safe here." I said.

"Come on, let's get going." Kanan said.

After I directed Hera to Delmi, we were soon in space looking for the Star Destroyer. We soon found it after a while, and I put myself through their commlinks.

"This is a closed sector. State your business." an officer said.

"This is Alira, a handpicked Inquisitor by Lord Vader himself. I have clearance to board your vessel and join the assault on Delmi." I said.

Thanks to the helmet, when I have the mask on, it has a voice modulator to change my voice. Also, when I was a Padawan, I learned how to use the Jedi mind trick through commlinks.

"Of course. My apologies. Please, come aboard." the officer said.

I smiled with satisfaction.

"Whoa, that was amazing." Ezra said.

I smiled at the boy before turning my attention back on the Star Destroyer as it got closer. The Ghost and the Destroyer made the connection and I made my way to the ramp.

"Zel." Kanan said, grabbing my shoulder.

I looked back at him as the mask retracted from my face.

"Good luck..." he said.

I smiled at him before the mask covered my face. I opened the ramp and was welcomed by stormtroopers and a Lieutenant.

"Welcome, Inquisitor. We're so happy you came to join us," the Lieutenant said.

"I would like nothing more than to see this planet burn." I said.

"Yes. Please, follow me."

I turned around to see the Ghost leaving the dock.

Good luck, you guys...

I began following the Lieutenant until we reached the control room.

"So, Lieutenant... When will the assault commence?" I asked.

"Very soon. We're focusing on the Central City of the planet," he said.

"Lyndu."

"Precisely. Since that's Delmi's only strong point, we'll destroy the city, and imprison the outsiders and bystanders."

"And the people in the city will go down as well when you destroy it, I presume?"

The Lieutenant looked at me and nodded firmly.

This is going to be a little harder than I thought...

"I will go prepare the stormtroopers and ships. I want to be in the middle of it all when the assault happens. Send an officer to fetch me when we are ready to depart." I said.

"Of course." the Lieutenant said.

I walked out of the control room and began making my way to the dock. I tapped the helmet and got in contact with Hera and the others.

"You guys heard all that?" I asked.

"Every word, Zelara." Kanan said.

"Phoenix Squadron and the others are on their way now." Hera said.

"I'll try and block the Destroyer's vision and scramble their tech, so they don't see and detect the Rebellion coming."

"You can do that?" Ezra asked.

"I said I'm going to try... Stand by and wait for the signal to land the ships."

"What's the signal?" Sabine asked.

"You'll know it when you see it. Zelara out."

I cut the connection and continued to the dock. I looked around at all the officers, stormtroopers, and TIE pilots, scurrying across the dock like Lothrats in a fire. I then saw an officer approach me and bow to me.

"You are needed in the control room, ma'am." he said.

"Of course. Take me there if you will." I said.

The officer nodded and led me back to the control room where the Lieutenant was waiting for me.

"Ah, Inquisitor. We are just about to commence the assault." he said.

As I was hearing his plan, I was focusing on how to block the windshield and scramble the detectors. I used the Force to focus on the tech around the ship until I found the detectors. When I found what I was looking for, I heard some engines stop.

I deactivated the detectors, but it's going to be hard to maintain focus...

I spotted the Ghost near the Destroyer, probably having its signature masked since the Destroyer wasn't bothering them.

Now, how am I going to block the Destroyer's vision...?

I looked around the room and then spotted a small fuel canister beside an officer.

A little smoke and fire diversion...?

I carefully lifted the fuel canister with the Force and then snapped my fingers. The explosion was clear as crystal. The windshield was covered with a thick layer of ash and soot, and couldn't see out or in. The control room was in a state of panic at this point. Small flames could be seen around the room.

"I'm guessing that was the signal?" Zeb asked through my helmet.

"Yup. You guys and the Rebellion get everyone off Delmi and bring them to Maitlyn," I said.

"What about you?" Ezra asked.

"I'm an Inquisitor, remember? I have my own TIE. Let me know when you have everyone safe."

"Will do. Good luck, Zel." Hera said.

"You too."

Good thing everyone's screaming and panicking was loud enough so the Lieutenant couldn't hear my conversation...

I quickly used the Force to gather up the smoke and fire before it got too intense. Everyone sighed with relief.

"Thank you, Inquisitor," the Lieutenant said.

"I do not want you dead before the assault, Lieutenant." I said.

"Right, of course."

He dusted off his suit and ordered the windshield to be clear. I walked off to the side and wiped away some of the ash and soot. I then saw the Rebellion fleet and sighed.

Let's just hope by the time these guys are done cleaning the windshield, the Rebels and the others will be gone...

After a good few minutes of cleaning, everyone was able to see the outside again.

I couldn't see the ships anymore... That means they're all on Delmi evacuating everyone, or they're all getting ready to depart from Delmi...

"Right, let us commence the assault." the Lieutenant said.

My heart began beating hard and fast in my chest. I then started wracking my brain with ways to stall the assault.

Wait, I'm an Inquisitor...

I turned to the Lieutenant and cleared my throat.

"Pardon me Lieutenant, but if we are destroying the city from above, and all is gone, how will you be able to capture and imprison the survivors?" I asked.

"Trust me, Inquisitor, my plans never fail." the Lieutenant said.

I couldn't help but scoff at his words.

"Forgive me, Lieutenant, for I have heard a lot of Imperial plans being foiled by the Rebellion. Is that true, Lieutenant?" I asked.

"Well... yes, that is true..." the Lieutenant said.

"As I thought. This brings me to my next suggestion, why not a full ground assault instead of an aerial assault? Call in Walkers to round up the survivors so you don't have to run after them?"

The Lieutenant hummed in thought.

"An aerial assault would be much more efficient, and no one will see it coming." the Lieutenant said.

"I see..." I said.

He's honestly not wrong...

Then, everyone saw the Rebellion come out of nowhere.

"Rebels? How did you not pick up on them?" the Lieutenant asked.

"Sir, the detectors were deactivated." an officer said.

"Well, get them up and running again."

The officers obeyed the Lieutenant's orders, but they couldn't fulfill it.

"Sir, the detectors are not responding. It's like something is preventing us from doing so." an officer said.

"What? How?" the Lieutenant questioned.

Then, we all saw the Rebellion jump into hyperspace.

"Everyone is safe, Z." I heard Sabine say.

Phew...

I then turned to the very perplexed Lieutenant.

"Is there a problem, Lieutenant?" I asked.

"I-It's nothing. Anyway, commence fire!" he ordered.

"Sir, we have a problem..." an officer said.

He couldn't see it, but the Lieutenant knew I was glaring at him.

"What seems to be the problem?" the Lieutenant asked.

"I just did a scan of Delmi, and there are no life signs showing up on the radar. It's just the planet." the officer said.

"What? How? Who is responsible for this inconvenience?"

"That would be me, Lieutenant." I said.

I felt everyone's gazes on me

"You, but how?" he asked in surprise.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, Lieutenant..." I said.

I ran out of the room and began making my way to the dock.

"Attention, all stormtroopers! Terminate the false Inquisitor!" the Lieutenant said, voice echoing down every hall.

When I made a turn down a hall, there were stormtroopers waiting for me.

"Stop right there!" one snarled.

"Sorry, can't do that. Got places to be, people to see." I said.

Then, they began firing at me. I took out the Inquisitor lightsaber and activated it. The twin blades began to spin around, deflecting all the lasers back at the stormtroopers. I jumped over the unconscious troopers and finally made it to the dock. I saw the Inquisitor's TIE and quickly hopped inside. I powered it up and lifted the TIE off the ground. I zoomed out of the dock and quickly jumped into hyperspace. I then sighed with relief.

"Hera, can you hear me?" I asked.

"Loud and clear, Zel. Everyone is safe on Maitlyn. We're just waiting for you." she said.

"That's good. Look out for an Inquisitor's TIE, alright?"

"Will do."

I cut the connection when I saw my home planet come into view. I entered Maitlyn's airspace and landed the TIE in the fields. When I stepped out of the TIE, I took off the helmet and shook out my hair. I then saw the Rebels run over to me.

"You made it." Hera said with relief.

I smiled softly at the Twe'lik.

"Thanks to you guys and the Rebellion, Delmi's people are safe." I said.

"So, how was it, being an Inquisitor and all?" Zeb asked.

"Yeah, did you boss anyone around?" Kanan asked.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"No one important, just a Lieutenant." I said in a lazy voice.

The Rebels then burst into laughter, and I happily joined.

"I'm just glad everyone is safe now," I said.

"I heard that some people want to work with the Rebellion to fight for planets and homes like theirs." Ezra said.

"That's great."

"What's even better is now we have an Inquisitor's TIE fighter AND an Inquisitor uniform. We can sneak in as an Inquisitor to go undercover whenever we want now." Sabine said.

"Thing is, I can't play that role anymore. They probably know who I am, and they'll be waiting for us to pull a stunt like this again."

Hera couldn't help but smile.

"That's not a problem. Almost every time we have a mission like this, either Kanan, Rex, or Ezra wear stormtrooper armor to blend right in. If you have your own personal stormtroopers with you, they won't suspect a thing." she said.

"Great, now I'm eager to wear this uniform again." I said.

Another round of laughter rang throughout the fields. The Rebels soon took me around Maitlyn to meet the new friends they made while saving the people of Delmi.

I'm really glad the lives of these people are going to turn around, thanks to us...

Hey everyone! Hope you all enjoyed this part. Once again, a huge thank you to HowlSeeker for giving me this awesome idea. Suggestions are forever open to you guys. I think the next part will be a "Slice of Life" skit or episode-based. I don't know, but you guys are going to love it. May the Force be with You!
