Chapter 3.
*flashback to two months ago*
Karma's POV.
Elias was a weakling.
Even after I ended up teaching him the basics of survival because he always followed me around.
"Pitiful" I remarked as he threw a dagger at a rabbit, missing it by inches.
"Easy for you to say. You're a wolf. Hunting and survival techniques are your forte."
"You're a mundane. Being a weakling is your forte"
"Well in real life I-"
"Wow, didn't realize you even had one"
Elias glared at me.
"I meant, if you were to stay among my kind you wouldn't last a day." Elias explained.
I growled at him assuming a crouching position as the wolf inside of me got ready to pounce.
"Is that a challenge?" I fought for control over my wolf but I had my limits.
I could sense my eyes changing and my finger nails extending into claws.
Elias smirked.
"Yeah, and you just proved my point. Normal people don't wolf-out."
*End of flashback*
That's how I found myself surrounded by mundane stench.
"It reeks of mundane" I ranted as I awkwardly followed Elias into the village.
"Huh, that's weird. I smell a mutt"
I bared my teeth at him in defense of my race.
"Now wear this" he took off his jacket and rested it upon my shoulders.
"Wouldn't want people thinking you're murderer with all those tattered clothes with bloodstains on them".
I sighed and adjusted the jacket so that I was wearing it properly and I zipped the zipper all the way up in order to cover the bloodstains.
"Where are we going? I thought you couldn't go back home?"
"This isn't my village, it's my aunt's and uncles.
They'll let me stay if I tell them I just need to gather up some rest and supplies before going back to my mission and dad won't even know it."
"Someone who disowns you just because you're not like the rest, isn't really your dad"
"I... I don't care. I'll make him proud!" And with that Elias marched off towards the center of the village leaving me no choice but to go after him.
