Chapter Two, Rescuing Sirius

Once Rebekah, Nadia and Jane had returned with hundreds of bags from their shopping trip and Lilijana had been cleaned up and dressed in the cutest outfit, they took a Portkey (Kol was excited for this) to Potter Manor with Teahai promising to send word discreetly to Arcturus Black, Remus and Severus, and to send a goblin to collect the coffins containing their eldest brothers and store them somewhere safe.
"Ready little wolf?" Nick asked, his precious daughter perched on his hip holding tightly to his shoulders - her teddies in the rucksack Jane had got for her.

"Ready Daddy." Lili said, beaming at her father while looking extra cute from the missing tooth.
"Don't let go, Little Wolf." Nick instructed firmly as he activated the Portkey and disappeared from London to the Scottish Highlands while a snowball effect was happening all over Magical Britain.

After receiving an owl from the Potter-Black account manager, Arcturus Black who had been bed bound for five years due to an unforeseen curse that left him in chronic pain, that he neither knew how he was cursed or who cursed him and it so far seemed to be untreatable, he ordered his elf Tally to bring him a high dosage pain reliever while he dressed in his best grey suit with a crisp snow-white shirt and emerald tie which brought out his silver eyes the Blacks were known for. He was furious, it was an almost dangerous rage that surged through his blood, through his magic. He couldn't believe the nerve of the Headmaster (he wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't the one to curse him just so he wouldn't free his grandson and take in his great-granddaughter). He wasn't about to let his grandson rot in that foul place a moment longer.

Once the pain had subsided some he ordered Tally to take him to Madam Bones' office and afterwards to bring his niece Andromeda as the family lawyer. He hadn't allowed her to be disowned, Pollux's side of the family seemed to be lacking in the brains department and it didn't help that they were plagued the worst by the Black Madness; especially Walburga,
Cygnus and Bellatrix. He knew that Sirius and Andromeda were plagued by it a little though he wondered how bad Sirius would be when he was free. He only hoped his little great-granddaughter - who he wished to see once this mess was sorted out- was spared from it like Narcissa and Regulus had been.
"Master." Tally called, pulling Arcturus from his thoughts, hand held out towards him.

Grasping the hand they were immediately transported into Madam Bones' office with a stern scowl on his face as he faced the stern witch who was flitting through mounds of paperwork rapidly.
"I take it you're here regarding the missive I've received from Teahai the Potter-Black account manager at Gringotts?" Amelia Bones asked, feeling rather stressed.
"Yes. This is a huge miscarriage of justice, Amelia Bones, and you can be sure that I will be suing the Ministry and Dumbledore for this, and anyone else who was involved." Arcturus stated firmly, just as Andromeda arrived in a light blue suit, a copy of the Potters' Wills that highlighted the truth, clasped in her hand which she slapped down onto the desk and pointed at it, the truth glaring Amelia in the face.

"Rosanna!" Amelia called for her secretary.
"Yes Madam Bones?" The mousy brown witch asked as she hurried into the office.
"Bring in the paperwork to start the process of sacking Albus Dumbledore from ALL of his positions, send Aurors to Hogwarts to arrest him, and send in Auror Shacklebolt and Auror Proudfoot as there's an innocent man in Azkaban! Finally, call an emergency Wizengamot session, now!" Amelia ordered. "GO!" She shouted pulling the witch from her stupor, who turned tail and ran out of the room, carrying out the orders distributed to her.

Amelia had never trusted Dumbledore and she knew Sirius was innocent, but the old fool had such a strong foothold in the Ministry and the Magical World at large that she had been ignored for the last four years, she was glad he was finally getting his due.

~ Marauder Cottage, Forest of Dean ~

Inside the small cottage there was a flurry of activity as Remus Lupin flew around his small but cosy home hurrying to redress. After the missive he just received from Gringotts, he needed to get to Potter manor as soon as possible. He only hoped Nik would forgive him. However, it wasn't for a lack of trying on his part, but on the bigoted witches and wizards of Magical Britain who failed to allow him to raise his niece and Goddaughter. Even when he and Severus put forth that they would co-raise her and had listed all of the safety precautions they would put in place for the Full Moon; they had still been denied. Of course he knew who was behind this, the very person who had been behind everything from the beginning: Albus Dumbledore.

"Master Moony." Lolly called, appearing with a curtsey before Remus.
"Lolly?" Remus questioned, feeling rather confused. "What're you doing here?"
"Master Nik has arrived at the Manor with little Miss, his brother and sister, and four Hybrids. Poor little Miss was put with nasty Muggles who hurt her and were going to kill her but little Miss protected herself and activated her wolf curse." Lolly informed him causing pain to lance through Remus at all that his poor little cub has been through at such a young age. "Master Nik has sent Lolly to get yous, while Daisy gets Master Snape."

Remus nodded in understanding and with a wave of his wand packed up all of his belongings into several trunks which he shrunk and put into his pocket before grasping Lolly's hand.
"Wait! What about Sirius? He's innocent, Severus and I have tried for years but ..."
"Potter goblin sent the Wills of Master Jamsie and Mistress Lily. As Lolly understands it, Arcturus is at the Ministry with Andromeda and an emergency Wizengamot session and the nasty Headmaster has been arrested."
"Okay let's go." Remus agreed, glad his friend will soon be free. He knew Arcturus wouldn't leave or allow anyone to leave that session until Sirius was indeed free.

~ Hogwarts ~

Severus watched with a satisfied smirk as Albus Dumbledore was led away by Aurors for murder, preventing the course of justice, child abduction, child endangerment, faking evidence, and so much more that the other teachers were left stunned at the list of crimes listed against someone they had trusted and trusted to be around children. Of course Albus didn't go quietly and cursed the Aurors, and Severus who he saw was smirking at him), and of course he tried to bribe his way out of it but unfortunately for him the Aurors just silenced him and continued to drag him away crushing his image that he had spent decades building.

Severus was very tempted to go to the Ministry and watch with satisfaction as the man was finally tried and convicted for his crimes that he has done against James and Lily and Lily's family for decades all because he feared someone being more powerful than him. And just as he had been about to leave for the Ministry, Daisy, a Potter House-elf arrived informing him of everything and just like that his desires and needs changed. His resignation was handed in, his belongings packed, as he would finally be meeting his beloved Goddaughter after four years as he headed to Potter Manor.

~ Ministry, Courtroom Eight, Department of Mysteries ~

The Ministry was in shambles. Decades of lies about the last two wars were brought to life. All the deaths of Aurors, and public alike, was for nought; all because an old man didn't like that he wasn't the most powerful and that he had unrequited love for a happily married man. After Sirius's trial earlier that day the three Blacks - after he had been treated for four years worth of Dementor exposure, at the Ministry's expense - had decided to stay and watch the trial of Albus Dumbledore as Sirius and Arcturus and even Andromeda needed closure.

"Order!" Amelia Bones shouted over all the arguing Lords and Ladies who had flown into an apocalyptic rage and despair over what had been revealed with the use of Veritaserum on Albus Dumbledore. "Order!" Madam Bones shouted again, letting off three bangs with her wand.

When order had finally been restored she carried on speaking, spotting out of the corner of her eye all of the journalists scribbling so frantically to capture the whole proceedings of both trials they had splotches of ink on their noses and even their cheeks in some cases.
"Albus Dumbledore, it is the decision of this court, due to the evidence provided and your testimony under Veritaserum that you will be charged for the following charges and put to death via the Veil of Death; Murder of an Heiress, indoctrination of fellow witches and wizards into not one but TWO FALSE wars, abduction of Heiress Riddle-Selwyn then again a SECOND time with Heiress Riddle-Selwyn's daughter who is Heiress Potter-Black-Mikaelson.

Conspiracy to Line Theft, false imprisonment of a Lord of a Most Ancient and Most Noble House, use of the Imperius Curse on Lord Slytherin to kill Lord Potter and his wife who was Lord Slytherin's stolen daughter. Child endangerment, faking evidence, cursing Master Arcturus Black with an obscure curse, unlawful sealing of a Lord and Lady's Wills, and binding a child's magic. Alastair Moody and everyone else on the list you have given us will be tried against this court in the coming days. Aurors bind him and follow me to the Room of Death." Madam Bones ordered, banging her gavel on the desk.

At seven thirty pm on August 3rd 1985, Sirius Orion Black III let out a sigh of relief as he watched Dumbledore be thrown into the Veil of Death by a wave of Madam Bones' wand. There could be no doubt that Dumbledore was dead and his reign of lies, manipulation and corruption ended with him and Sirius couldn't help it he laughed with glee.
"What do you find so funny, Grandson?" Arcturus asked carefully, hoping the sweet little girl he's heard so much about today wasn't about to lose another father, this one to the Black Madness.

"Oh, it's just that I know Death will not go easy on the man. Death has always favoured the Peverells and the Potters. Now, I would like to see my daughter." Sirius explained gleefully, although worry and trepidation gripped his gut in a knuckle-clenched fist. "Grandfather, Andy, would you both like to come?" He asked.
"Thank you Sirius but I really must get back to my daughter. Perhaps another time." Andromeda declined politely. "But make sure you both see Narcissa for further treatment. I'll send her an owl to let her know to expect you so make sure you do it." She threatened, before she bid them goodnight and used the Floo Network back to her own home.

"Grandfather?" Sirius questioned once more.
"I'd love to meet my Great-Granddaughter." Arcturus said smiling happily, it was the first time since his dear Melania passed that he truly smiled and it felt rather strange. Sirius beamed at his Grandfather and called out for Lolly to take them to Potter Manor; it was the only way to get Arcturus through the thick wards. The moment they appeared in the foyer Sirius heard the sweet little voice he hasn't heard in four years, a voice that has sustained him in that terrible place and a voice that brought tears to his eyes.

"DADDY! I knew you'd come back to me!" Lilijana cried happily through her sobs as she flew into Sirius and wrapped her arms tightly around his legs.
"Always my little pup. Always and Forever." Sirius whispered tearfully, as he awkwardly pulled her back despite her tight hold and lifted her up into his arms. Sirius stumbled to the marble twisting staircase where he slumped down onto the bottom step enjoying a hug with his daughter as they cried, purging the pain and hurt from their systems.
