Epilogue
" There's no place like home."
|Recap|
"And Scarecrow? I'm going to miss you most of all," I muttered before giving him a hug.
"Are you ready now?" Glinda asked.
"Yes."
"Then close your eyes, click your heels together three times, and think to yourself.. there's no place like home."
I closed my eyes and clicked my heels three times.
"There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home."
Troy, KS
"There's no place like home. There's no place like home," I muttered.
"Dorothy? Dorothy? Are you okay?"
I slowly opened my eyes and see Aunt Em as well as Uncle Henry standing over me.
Oh my God.
Was it really a dream? No. I'm pretty sure that everything was reality. Everything.
"Aunt Em? Uncle Henry? Where am I? Where is Scarecrow, tin man, and lion?"
"When you went back for Toto during that tornado we just knew that you.. that you.. well never mind. What matters is you're okay."
"I apologize for leaving Kansas unannounced. I had no idea that I would be gone this long but I'm home and it will never happen again."
Aunt Em chuckled. "Dorothy, what on Earth are you talking about? You never left Kansas, there's no need to apologize."
"No. Aunt Em you don't understand. I left you guys and ended up in OZ. I met Glinda the good witch of the North and she told me to walk all the way to Emerald City in order to meet the Wizard. On the way, I met a few friends and learned a lot about myself."
"It was just a dream. Believe me, you never left. You were just dreaming Dorothy."
"Aunt Em you gotta believe me. You gotta trust me on this. I started off in Munchkin Land and ended up in the witch's castle. It's a long story."
She placed a damp rag on my forehead. "Dorothy, there's no such thing as Munchkin Land. It was just a dream."
"But... I was there. Toto was there as well."
"Well let's change the subject," said Uncle Henry "you have an early Christmas gift."
"An early gift? What is it?"
Next thing I know, we hear a knock on the door. Perfect timing.
"You have company," he smiled.
I made my way to the front door and slowly opened it. My heart instantly exploded.
"Oh.. my.. God!" I screamed.
I can't believe it! No. They can not be at my door right now. This is freaking unbelievable.
"So we heard your demo. You have an amazing voice," MC Ren smiled.
The rest of NWA let theirselves in while I was still in panic mode.
"You heard my demo? Oh my God I'm trying not to act like a groupie," I chuckled.
"Well it was hard choosing between you and Giselle from Houston. You both are very talented young ladies with a hell of a voice. But there's something special about you Dorothy," Dr. Dre added.
The Dr. Dre just told me that there's something special about me.
"You look like you're about to pass out any second," Eazy laughed. He has the most beautiful smile and his teeth are perfect.
"Well she just woke up after sleeping for hours," Aunt Em mentioned.
"The tornado kind of knocked her out. But thank God she's okay."
"Turns out I was just dreaming the entire time. It was one hell of a dream. I ended up in the land of OZ. And you guys were there. Cube, Dre, Eazy. You three were in my dream. And we met the Wizard together, the Wizard of OZ."
Ren laughed. "So I guess Yella and I weren't in the picture huh?"
"No unfortunately, I didn't see you guys. But it was a hell of an adventure, I promise."
"Back to your demo. We're going back to California soon but before we leave, we want to offer you a record deal with Eazy's company Ruthless Records."
As much as I want to....
"Wow. Y-you want to sign me? I don't, I'm not sure. Honestly."
"But Dorothy, this is what you've always wanted. You wanted to become a famous singer and audition for NWA. Well they finally heard your voice and want to work with you, what's going on?"
"Aunt Em, this is indeed my dream. You know I want to make it to Hollywood but, you were right. Fame is not what it's cracked up to be. And I also realized that there's no place like home. I'm happy with the life I'm living, and I love my city. I wouldn't trade it for anything."
"But this is a chance of a lifetime," said Uncle Henry "you can't turn this down. These guys want to sign you. So go for it, before it's too late."
"Are you sure you don't want to join Ruthless? We've seen a lot of talent but you stood out. What do you say?" Eazy questioned.
I smiled. "Thanks but no thanks. Fame isn't for me. I think you should consider signing Giselle. Her voice is stronger than mine. I think she's the one."
Cube interrupted, "but we don't want to sign her. We want to sign you and you're turning us down?"
"Sadly, I am. I'm sorry I wasted your time. But I don't see myself in Hollywood anymore."
"Well," Dre muttered "guess we'll have to consider offering Giselle a record deal. But if you don't mind, could we keep your demo?"
I nodded. "Of course. Thanks for the offer by the way and Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," they said in unison.
After they left, I watched them board their tour bus and I felt my eyes watering. That was one hell of a dream.
"Dorothy. What the hell did you just do?" Aunt Em asked.
"I made the right choice Aunt Em. That's what I did," I smiled.
Christmas Eve
"You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch. Your heart's an empty hole. Your brain is full of spiders, you've got garlic in your soul Mr. Grinch."
We spent the entire day watching Christmas movies and cartoons, as well as listening to Christmas music.
Right now we're currently watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" which is my all time favorite.
"Make sure you bake a few cookies for Santa."
"Aunt Em you know that I don't believe in Santa Claus anymore."
"The three words that best describe you are and I quote: stink, stank, stunk."
The rest of the night was spent by cooking and preparing Christmas dinner. We stuffed our stockings before ending the night with KTLA News.
According to paparazzi, NWA has officially signed Giselle to Ruthless Records. She has a beautiful voice I have to admit. She deserved it more than me.
"I'm so possessive so I rock his Roc necklaces. My daddy Alabama, momma Louisiana. You mix that negro with that Creole make a Texas bama."
"She's okay," Aunt Em spat "but I think you're the perfect fit Dorothy."
I laughed. "Hollywood isn't meant for me. But one thing's for sure, it's good to be back home. Merry Christmas."
"Sweetie you never left. But Merry Christmas to you too."

Christmas Day
Disney Land Anaheim, CA
How did I end up in California the next day? Well, that's a loooooooong story.
But I'm not going to bore you with it.
"Welcome to Magic Kingdom Dorothy! We hope you enjoy your day and Merry Christmas!"
"Thank you so so much and Merry Christmas to you as well," I smiled.
Dreams do come true.
This is real. To some people, this isn't worth celebrating.
But for me, going to Disney Land was literally a life goal.
I took thousands of photos with Mickey. My favorite mouse.
"Thank you so much Mickey! I love you so much, Merry Christmas."
After spending hours of being a kid again, I was introduced in front of the Cinderella castle.
I performed the Christmas song that I've worked on for awhile. I finally beat writer's block.
"Sing it with me guys," I shouted in the microphone.
The audience began to clap and sing along in unison.
"Santa tell me if he really cares, cause I can give it all away if he won't be here next year."
"Merry Christmas you guys! Thank you so much for having me. This is literally the best Christmas ever. I hope you enjoy your day here at Disney Land," I smiled before blowing the crowd a kiss.
