For the second time in my life, I felt so nervous- the first was when I first went to Aparajita to learn Wicca, but Mia was my student. I should not be nervous in front of my student, but Mia was not an ordinary girl. She was special, but I didn't know what. 

"Anika," I heard my Warden's voice.

"Yes," I answered.

"A girl called Mia has come to meet you," the warden said.

"Send her in," I said.

Mia came inside. She was wearing an off-shoulder pink top and red jeans. She was looking unusual but pretty.

"So," Mia said, sitting on my bed. She didn't even wish me.

"So what?" I kept standing; I didn't want to sit beside her. For some reason, I didn't like her, but I was intrigued by her.

"How are we going to defeat Aashim?" she said.

"Why are you so hell bent on destroying Aashim?" I said, "You seem to have a personal vendetta against him."

"Do you know Rohan?" she said to me.

"What?" I had never imagined Mia to ask that question.

"Rohan," Mia said, "The guy in your class. It seems that his twin brother also studies in your class. Everyone was talking about them."

"No," I said, "I don't know any of them."

"Are you sure?" Mia said, arching her left eyebrow.

"Yes, I am sure," I said, "Now if you are done, shall we begin your training?"

"Here? I thought that we would be going to the dark forest," Mia said.

"What do you watch in television?" I said.

"What?" Now it was Mia's turn to be shocked.

"Watch a television show for at least an hour," I said, "You are too self-centred and driven. Try to be involved in other lives. No man is an island. We are all part of the soul of the world."

"This makes no sense," Mia said. She was obviously irritated.

"Everything does not need to make sense," I said, "And Aparajita said that the most senseless things are the most beautiful."

I may be hallucinating but I felt that Mia was a little disturbed when I mentioned Aparajita's name.

The next day, when I reached the classroom, I sat in the corner seat so that no one could notice me.

When Ryan entered the class, I hoped that he took a seat which is distant from me, but he came towards me and said, "Hi!"

I didn't reply.u

"Anu," he said, "Can you help me with my studies?"

"Do you think that I am a fool," I retorted, " You are a vampire. You know these things already since years."

"Again you are mistaken," Ryan said, "It was Rohan who was a nerd. I was never interested in studies. All I have loved was music."

"Really?" I said. I remembered that Ryan was selected for Julliard School of music. I was feeling sorry for Ryan. He had suffered a lot.

"By the way," I said, "How are you alive? Ryan had always thought that he had killed you. Who turned you into a vampire?"

"I don't know," Ryan said. I could see creases on his forehead. I noticed the difference in hairstyle of him and Rohan. While Rohan's hair covered his forehead and touched his eyelashes, giving him a manga-like look, Ryan's hair were combed in a backward direction, making him look like a sophisticated businessman. If their hairstyles were same, would Ryan be same as Rohan?

No, inspite of Rohan behaving like a cheap, spineless boy, whenever I looked into Rohan's hazel eyes, I saw warmth and compassion; whereas Ryan's ice blue eyes were cold.

"Anika," Ryan clicked his fingers in front of my eyes, "Where is your mind wandering?"

"Nowhere," I said opening my book.

"So, let's make a deal," Ryan said with excitement, "You help me in study and I will give you piano lessons. Do you agree?"

I had always wanted to learn piano. I said, "Let's meet at 7 p.m."

"Where?" Ryan said, "I have heard that Nemtenh lake is a quite place."

"No," I said, "Not at Nemtenh lake. We can go to dark forest."

"OK."

After the college was over, when Mia came to my room, I taught her some basic rituals.

"What happened, Anika?" Mia said, "You seem excited. Are you going out somewhere?"

"Yes," I said, "To the dark forest with Ryan."

Mia said, "You and Ryan look good with each other."

"It's nothing like that," I said, irritated.

I went to the dark forest. Ryan was waiting there for me. There was also a piano there. By the way, it must not be difficult for a vampire to arrange a piano in the midst of a forest.

"So," I said, "What should we do first, Studies or piano?"

"I would go with piano."

I turned back. Rohan was standing there.

"What the hell are you doing here, Rohan?" Ryan growled. His body was shaking with anger. His eyes were blazing with an intense hate.

"Nothing much," Rohan smirked. "I just want to ruin your cute little date."

"It's nothing like that, Rohan," I said.

"You need not give any explanation to him," Ryan said. He was right. Rohan had only used me; the only woman in his heart was Aparajita.

"Anika," Ryan said looking at me, "Would you like to hear Moonlight Sonata?" I loved Moonlight Sonata. I had told Rohan that when we were together. I never expected him to remember it.

"Do you even know how to play the piano?" Ryan asked sarcastically.

"Dear brother," Rohan said in a calm voice, "Why do you always underestimate your younger brother's capabilities?"

Rohan began playing the piano. Each note sounded like a divine blessing. I was so immersed in the magic of music that I could not hear the howls of wolves surrounding us. It was only when a wolf pounced on me and Rohan pushed me away that I sensed what was happening.

"Get behind me," Rohan said, his eyes gauging the number and strength of wolves, "I will not let anything happen to you." Then with the speed of light, Rohan attacked the wolves and drained their blood.

I took out my wand and pointed it at a wolf who was trying to attack Rohan from behind. Rohan looked at me. For a moment, I thought that I saw pride in his eyes. But why would he proud of me? What was I to him?

All the wolves were killed. Rohan held my hand and said, "Are you OK?"

"Hmm..." I said, "Where is Ryan?"

As soon as I said this, Rohan left my hand hanging in air and sighed, "All right, let's look for him."

I looked at Rohan and said, "Aparajita would be very sad after seeing that you have changed so much after her death. You were a good person before."

"Don't fantasize, Anika. I have only used you. And today also, I saved you only because I want to drink your blood and turn you into a vampire so that I can defeat Aashim."

"There is your boyfriend," Rohan said with contempt.

"I...I am so afraid," Ryan was hiding behind a tree, "Where are the wolves?"

"They are gone," I said.

"But why have they attacked us?"

"Perhaps they don't like their new master," Rohan said and began whistling the tone of Moonlight Sonata whose echo haunted the dark forest.
