Chapter 15
I wondered whether I should tell Rohan about Mia and Aashim being twin flames or not. Mia was his daughter and Aashim was his arch-enemy who had killed his parents and was responsible for him and his brother turned into vampires. Would he be able to accept this truth? But where was Rohan now? Was he held a captive by Prayaas in Tristeka? I needed to access his memories immediately.
I reached my room and meditated to enter my astral temple. I knew it would not be easy to enter a vampire's castle in memories but I had to do this. I increased my vibrations using jasmine incense and projected on the astral plane. I entered my astral temple and created the circle around me. I chanted,
O the spirits,
Of North and South,
East and West,
Help me enter Rohan's memories in Tristeka,
You know it is only for his best.
'You must not enter someone's memories in Tristeka,' I heard a warning in the husky voice of an old woman.
"I need to enter there. Rohan could be in danger," I told the voice.
"If you enter anyone's memories in Tristeka, you will lose him forever," I heard the voice again. I shuddered but Aparajita had told me that the spirits are never always right; they are just like humans. Definitely they do know more than us, but they have their own intentions to guide or misguide us. I must take this risk, being a Wiccan was all about taking risks.
"I would enter Rohan's memories in Tristeka," I announced and soon I was at the top of a snow clad mountain in the Himalayas. I saw Ryan standing there.
A magnificent castle of the color as black as the darkest night was guarded by hundreds of fierce wolves. The castle was enchanting. It was as enormous as the universe and was as old as the evil. Its towers seemed piercing the moon with its sword-like top. There were no windows in the castle. Did vampires never need to know what was happening in the outside world? The howls of the wolves were making the atmosphere more ominous. Even the snow that was falling seemed like the tears of the blood-red moon wounded by the epitome of evil which was standing so proudly on a Himalayan mountain.
"Let me go," Rohan whispered and the disorganized wolves made a way for him as they were his loyal followers. A gatekeeper with hair touching his shoulders gave a wicked smile to Ryan with his fangs growing and Rohan entered without acknowledging this friendly gesture.
The interior of the castle was beautiful. I never knew that the vampires were so classy. It had paintings from all the famous painters ever born in the earth but some of the paintings were quite ethereal. Some paintings were telling a story. A painting showed sun and moon as a lover but beautiful moon could never go near the sun because of the sun's heat. So each night moon shed tears of blood which wolves licked and stars sang a song of melancholy and longing. There was actually music coming out of that series of painting which was hauntingly alluring.
There were several cabins inside the castle and some beastly looking servants were performing chores like cleaning the marble floors and serving the wine of blood to their vampire masters. Each vampire had his own cabin and seldom any vampire could be seen roaming inside the castle. I didn't know whether I was hallucinating but once I felt that I had seen the face of a vampire morphed into that of a wolf. But Rohan was deterred by none of his. Had he been to Tristeka before?
He crossed a corridor which seemed as long as infinity to enter the largest cabin in which Prayaas was sitting on a throne. As Rohan entered the room, two bats morphed into vampires and said, "Hail the vampire king! Should we allow this Wiccan vampire to meet you?"
Prayaas nodded and the bats flew away.
"So why did the vamire who knows magick came to Tristeka?" Prayaas asked Rohan with a wicked smile.
"Let's come straight to the point," Rohan said, "What were doing at my home that day?" I really admired Rohan's courage that time. Though he was a vampire, but not fearing the vampire king in Tristeka is definitelya thing!
"I came to check out your lovely daughter," Prayaas said.
Rohan came at the foot of Prayaas' throne with the speed of light and pushed Prayaas from his throne and said, "Hold your tongue! Mia is my daughter." Enormous bats started circling Rohan and attacking him but he was too swift for them.
The redness of anger showed on Prayaas' pale face but with a calm voice, he said, "Or maybe I should check your girlfriend Anika instead."
Rohan emphasized his every word, "I have come to Tristeka to only tell you that you must stay away from both Mia and Anika."
"Or else?"
"You know what I can do. I will snatch away everything from you if any danger comes to Mia or Anika because of you," Rohan said.
"What can you snatch away from me, Mr. Rohan Mukherji? I was deserted by my parents because they thought me that I was a vampire when I was born after my six brothers and a black cat died when I was born. What can you snatch away from me, when everyone in my village, lashed me just because I was thought as a vampire. If the vampire goddess Selene had not taken mercy on me, I was nothing. But now, everything belongs to me and the humans who have tortured me are no more than a grain of dust for me. You have really ashamed us vampires, Rohan, by loving two humans," Prayaas said. For the first time, I had seen a glimpse of emotion in Prayaas.
"Just because you have been treated in inhumanly way in your village at Romania," Rohan said, "It does not mean that every human is bad."
"It is not us vampires who are evil. It is the humans who give birth to evil. And you, yourself, will see the sad fate of your human girlfriend, Anika," Prayaas said.
"I will destroy you if you do anything to Anika," Rohan hissed and morphed into a bat, coming out of the castle of Tristeka.
