Ice Giants - Part 7 - Geralt x Reader
Geralt opened his eyes. Looking around the cave to see that Jaskier was slumbering peacefully, yet (Y/n,) Roach, Shadow and Buttercup were missing. The male Witcher quickly getting to his feet and making his way over to the entrance of the cave, breathing a sigh of relief as he caught sight of the missing four. Roach, Shadow and Buttercup nibbling at some grass that (Y/n) had somehow managed to find beneath the large drifts of snow, while the female Witcher herself, was a short distance away picking some berries from the branches of bushes that were covered in a light dusting of snow.
He had to say that she looked beautiful against the crisp white that had fallen during the night. It was as if she............as if everything about her matched the wintery surroundings. Her white hair, which unlike him she had always sported, seemed, to Geralt anyway, to have always had a tinge of the lightest blue to it, and at this moment looked every bit like the icicles that hung from the branches around her. The pale fur cloak that covered her shoulders and fell around her strong yet supple form, was almost as pale as the snow itself. Geralt sure that if he hadn't been looking for her, he might actually have missed her. The big man slowly making his way out into the deep drifts, doing his best not to interrupt her. Wishing to watch her for a little longer. Geralt quietly patting Roach as he reached the mare.
(Y/n) was beautiful, there was no denying that. But she always had been. Even from being a young girl, her features had been more than pleasing. Geralt as well as some of the others being reprimanded on more than one occasion for looking at the beauty when they should have been concentrating on other matters. The son of Visenna, chuckling to himself as he recalled the druids pulling many a boy by the ear when their eyes made their way back to (Y/n).
Carefully he took a step, then another, cursing as the crisp snow crunched slightly under his feet. He was sure that she already knew he was there; her instincts, her senses, some of the best that he had ever come across; but still she continued to pick the berries. The air suddenly filling with the sweetest of sounds. Her voice as soft and gentle as the first spring rains.
"You missed one..............." Geralt remarked, as he came up behind her. The male Witcher standing with his chest pressed up against her back, as he reached for the rather plump, winter berry and placed it in the small bag along with all the others that (Y/n) had picked. A perfect shiver running down her spin, as she felt his breath fan against her neck.
"You rose early................."
"Yes........I thought that Jaskier might be hungry. I know that Roach, Shadow and poor little Buttercup most certainly were. And I didn't want to wake Jaskier or rouse you. So....................." (Y/n) explained, as she turned her head slightly to look at the man behind her.
"You haven't been this close to me in a very long time, Geralt. I must admit that I like it. It takes me back to a wonderful night so long ago. A night that I will never forget. A night that I hold in my heart.................."
"You remember......................"
"How could I forget............? You came into my room that night, like my knight in shining armour. You held me close and combed you fingers through my hair as I wept. You were there when I needed someone the most. You were there when I thought I would break. If it hadn't been for you, for that kiss, for that night, I don't think that I would have made it through what I had to face next. So, I could never forget that night. I can never forget being loved by you. About how you made me feel. And perhaps.........perhaps it is that, and the fact that I still want you, still care for you, that made you leaving me at the mercy of that Kikimora, all the more painful............." (Y/n) interrupted, as she turned and looked up at the taller man.
"(Y/n).........I didn't............I didn't leave you. I thought.............I truly believed that..........And.........and you still want me............?"
"I have always wanted you, Geralt. Before I even knew what it was to want a man, I knew that I wanted you. That I would always want you............."
"But..........but I saw you kiss Jaskier last night. I have seen the way that you look at him...................." Geralt retorted. The White Wolf feeling his heart begin to race as (Y/n) reached up and placed her hand on his cheek. His mind filling with the same images, the same thoughts as it had the night before. Images of her beauty, as she had laid there naked; as she had pulled him towards her, her legs folding around him. The memory of how she had felt, of how she had made him feel, making him pull her into his arms.
"Jaskier makes me smile. Makes me laugh. In many ways he is nothing but a typical barb............but in other ways, I feel he is so much more. He makes me feel alive, just like you did. He shows me that there could be more to life than trying to get myself killed by all manner of creatures. And his pretty face has indeed found its way into my heart; but that does not mean that there isn't room for you too. That there isn't room for both of you there, and..........in my bed." (Y/n) explained, before she drew him into a kiss. Geralt quickly kissing her back, just happy to be in her arms once again.
