One Night Stands
They made it to the inn, and almost immediately, Geralt was swarmed with women. They got their rooms, and Lillian hid in hers and changed into a night dress. She hated the room, though; two couples, one on either side, were going at it, making Lillian uncomfortable. Lillian tried to read, but she could only hear moaning through the walls. Her long blond hair was out of its braid now, and Lillian decided that she was going to redo it maybe to think about something else other than those people. Lillian hated this place because it reminded her of the places she was forced to work in and the one she was sold in. She just wanted the mark gone so no one could sell her again.
She also didn't want to be treated as an enslaved person either. Lillian wished at the moment that she was a man so that she could be maybe okay with all of this, but none of this was okay to her. Sleeping with strangers wasn't suitable for her. Everyone needed to feel loved in some way, but not like this. Getting to know someone and falling for that person was way better than a one-night stand with some guy that didn't care about you in her mind anyway.
"Lillian, are you decent?" Geralt asked.
She fixed her dress and put her book down on the bed. She got up and opened the door for him. Geralt paused, seeing her in this state, never really noticing how long her hair was or how she looked in the firelight. Geralt didn't care about her, or at least that is what he told himself, but he had a woman flirting with him, and he was in the mood for some fun.
Geralt had to check on Lillian first because she was not fond of places like this, and he knew that. He regretted coming in, she had no interest in just sleeping around with anyone, and he was more than happy to do so.
"Just making sure you were alright," he said as she sighed, and he leaned on the door a bit.
"I would be better if I didn't have horny neighbors," she informed, "I might stay with Roach. I can see why you prefer her to people."
"You better not go outside looking like that," he said softly.
"Men, I hate them sometimes. I'm so glad you are different, a man that thinks of other things on his mind rather than just women and ale," she smiled.
"Geralt, wow, she is beautiful," a whore said as Lillian backed off a bit from Geralt.
The look of surprise and disgust was written all over her face.
"I take everything I said back," she said as the woman looked her over.
"If you want, you can join us; I don't mind sharing, especially with a beautiful girl like you," she smiled as Lillian immediately covered herself up with a blanket.
"No, thank you, you can have him. I'm just going to go to the barn," she smiled nervously.
"Oh, come on, you are a virgin, aren't you? It will be okay; trust me, the first time is always the best," she chuckled.
"I'm wonderful, thank you, I have a condition that prevents me from this kind of thing; it's contagious," she informed.
"Oh well, next time," she smiled as she pulled Geralt away from her room.
Geralt didn't even try to stop her from flirting with her. If he wanted to sleep with her, he would have to win her heart and not do whatever this was. She closed her door and locked it so she could change into her old clothes and smiled a bit as she braided her hair and headed outside to be with Roach. On the way, however, she heard the woman that Geralt was with. She was hoping he was different because he was a witcher, but he was a man, so of course not.
Lillian went to the barn and sat next to Roach and smiled a bit. She loved the quiet and wished there was more of it. Lillian got out her book and started to read it by the lantern in the barn. She wondered how Jaskier was doing since he somehow got two women to bed him. Men, all she wanted was one good one, but there wasn't one anywhere on this continent.
Geralt laid next to the woman he brought into his bedroom, and the woman sighed with pleasure.
"It's a shame you didn't bring that beautiful blond in here. You seem to like her a lot," she smiled.
"She is a friend of mine; she was enslaved when I met her, and I went back to the place she lived and found out her master sold her. I spent close to a year looking for her, and I thought she was dead. I found her two days ago; a man was trying to rape her," he informed.
"So she is an enslaved person, that makes sense. How long have you had her?" She asked.
"She isn't a slave anymore, and I won't let her be," he said.
"So are you going to try to court her, or is she here for that young boy?" She asked.
"Neither," he answered.
"Just saying the way you were looking at her says different. I better go before my husband finds out I slept with you. He may be impatient, but when he gets jealous, he gets jealous. He knows I come here, but he likes it when I'm home before he is. It would be best if you didn't waste your time on women like me; women like her are hard to come by; they are like swans. They find a guy and stick with them for their lives. I might be wrong about her in that sense, but she seems kind," she said as she got dressed and left quickly.
Geralt lay there for a second before getting dressed. He went to the barn and saw Lillian reading peacefully by Roach, who also seemed interested in the book. Roach was looking over her shoulder like she was reading with Lillian.
"You know, Roach, all books almost end the same; frankly, I already know how this book will end," she said as she closed the book.
She saw Geralt, and she smiled a bit and nodded.
"Monster?" She asked.
"No, making sure no one took you," he informed.
"Very worried about me for someone that says he cares very little for people," she stated.
"You just got freed, and your mark seems to attract unsavory characters," he said.
"I looked in the library they have here. My mark doesn't exist in any book here. So whatever it is, it's not from this area," she said.
"We will find out what it means, Lillian; why not come back inside? It's going to get cold out," he said as she sighed.
"You know you never call me by my middle name. It's always Lillian," she said as he nodded.
"Easier for me to remember," he said as she walked up, and he looked down at her.
He took some hay in her hair and dropped it on the ground. She looked at him with beautiful eyes and returned to grab her book. He still stood there unmoving as she came up to him again.
"You are acting very strange, you know, even for a witcher, I would say," she said as he tucked some hair behind her ear.
She looked at him oddly as he touched her face for a second but then realized what he was doing. He kissed her gently on the lips, and it heated rather quickly. Geralt woke up in his bed and looked around to see if Lillian was there. No, he couldn't smell her in the room, making him realize he dreamed about kissing her.
He quickly got dressed and headed to the barn to make sure she was alright. He could smell her there, but she wasn't there at all. Then he found blood; anger filled him, and he realized Lillian was taken in the middle of the night. He quickly headed back inside and went to his room and put his armor on, then went to Lillian's room to grab her things.
Lillian shrieked as Geralt came barging into her room. She quickly covered herself with the blanket and threw her hairbrush at him.
"Seriously?! Geralt, what the hell! I'm not a man. You know you can't barge in here whenever you feel like it!" She yelled as he caught her hairbrush.
"I didn't see you in the barn and found blood," he said.
"Women bleed, Geralt! Horses eat the hay, and I don't know if my mark can go on animals or other people yet, so I came back last night. By the way, you snore incredibly loud and talk in your sleep! You scared the living daylights out of me because you called for me and were fine! I thought that whore poisoned you; I would lay off the ale next time if I were you. Now can you please leave? I was changing my clothes!" She yelled as Jaskier came by and looked at her, shocked.
"I should have stayed in the barn!" She growled as Geralt left and shut her door.
"Did you sleep together?" Jaskier asked.
"No, I thought she got taken, so I barged in," he said
"I bet you got an eye full I know I didn't night; I had three women in my room last night, let me tell you I..."
Geralt glared at him, and he shut up rather quickly.
"Next time you talk, I will punch you," he stated.
"Men! At least Roach wouldn't do something like that," Lillian muttered.
She couldn't believe Geralt, he saw blood, and the first thing he thought was that she was gone; he didn't bother knocking first. Did he even remember that she was a woman? Now that she could believe it, it hurt her feelings because, sure, she was kind on the small side, but she was still a woman. She wished she was right about him, that he was different, but he had to be like all the other men.
