Chapter Two: School
The next day began, I dressed for the occasion that was school. At least I was dead for the weekend and not missed any school time. I danced down the stairs in a happy way, but telling my friends on how I'm alive, still weighed heavily on my chest. I mean I could try and avoid them as much as possible but that was going to be hard when I have some classes with them. I had to be the big girl and face my problems head on. I got outside of my house and began to walk to school, taking a slow walk. I didn't want to use my car to spook them, so walking is the next big thing for me. And so begins the journey of a lifetime, to face my friends who think I'm dead.
This was going to be fun...
........................................
I arrived at school but everyone had already gone inside. The parking lot was empty of student's but besides the cars. I wandered across the parking lot and up the steps to the main entrance. I smiled as I opened the doors, feeling kind of bad-ass right now and deep down, I couldn't wait to see Stiles and Scott's faces. It's going to be priceless. My black heels clicked against the marble floor of the school's hallway. I had made my way further down the hall, locating Harrison's class and once I approached the door, I looked through the window that it offered. Straight away I see Stiles and Scott, behind different desk's, both facing the front. As Harrison passed out papers, as I was totally late for. He likes his student's on time.
"Anyone seen Miss Harper?" Harrison asked, making Scott and Stiles turn to one another, with a sad and worried look. As Harrison stopped in front of the class locking eyes with Stiles and Scott, but they couldn't speak. I opened the door.
"Right here, Sir," I spoke while walking to stand next to him. "Sorry I'm late," I turned to look at Scott, Stiles and I could see Jackson behind them, all wearing shocked and surprised faces.
Their eyes widened slightly, their mouths hanged a gape, their complexion turning white. Like they've seen a ghost. I retained myself from smiling at their current state and took a seat at the front, but I could feel their eyes upon me, burning into me like I wasn't real. To their belief no one dies and comes back from the dead. I faced the front as Harrison came over and gave me a paper, and I began the pop-quiz. But their eyes never shifted from me. I was lost in my own world as Harrison talked to Stiles about detention and giving him it if he spoke one more time, and he did.
"I'll see you at 3:00 for detention," he spoke to Stiles and then shifted his eyes upon me and I quickly looked at it. "You too Miss Harper for being late," I just gave him a nod gesturing 'ok' and we went back to the class. Though the hour seemed to drag, I could feel Scott and Stiles eyes upon me the whole time, Jackson had wandered off to the bathroom, but there was something about him that was off. I guess I was going to be filled in soon enough...
Lesson had now finished and I was the first one up and out of the classroom. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Stiles and Scott try to push through the student's but had no luck, as I was already out of the classroom and out of the sights of Scott and Stiles. I walked towards my locker but before I noticed Allison there opening her she took a glance at mine with a sad expression. I let out a small soft smile, this was it. I had to tell her, I had to go to her and tell her that I'm alive. It was now or never. My heels clicked on the floor as I made my way through the space between and stood at the left of her as she pulled out a black dress. I stared at her for a moment, I could see the necklace that was still wrapped around her neck, even after it burnt her hand the other night.
"Allison," I spoke softly, as she took a moment to process what she heard like it was just her mind playing tricks on her. But out of the corner of her eyes she saw a figure and it was me. She slowly turned to face me, as I stood there smiling my cheeks off as her eyes widened and her colour drained of it's warmth like she had just seen a ghost. "Before you say anything, I know how it looks but trust me, there's a reason. If you just give me a --" but before I could finish my words, she crushed me into a hug, tears flowing down her face and her breathing heavy as she was filled with joy.
"Alice! You're really here," she spoke as she pulled back from the hug to stare me in the face. I couldn't speak but just nod my head to her as a tear slipped from my eye. "How-how?" She spoke to get her point across as she took her hands in mine.
"It's a long story, but I will tell you but not right now," I spoke, smiling at her before crushing her into another hug and she welcomed it. "I'm here to support you," I whispered into her ear as we pulled back after a few moments. As we stared at one another she just nodded her head, and looked down to her locker vents to see a note. She picks it up and opens it out and I got a glance of the words on it. 'Because I love you' it had written on it, and I knew it was from Scott, she began to smile and blush at the note, before she put it in her locker.
"Nice dress," a guy spoke up from the right of her as she closed the door to her locker slightly, making me and Allison look over to him and look down to see him holding a camera.
"Nice camera," Allison spoke looking back up to meet his eyes.
"Take my picture any day," I jokingly said as he cracked a smile as well did Allison. "I'll find you later," I directed my comment to Allison who gave me a nod, before I walked down the hallway, a smile on my face.
..........................................
The school day had finished but I had detention with Stiles. I sat in front of Stiles as he sat a desk behind me, as I finished working on some Maths and chemistry homework. My eyes glanced back up to the clock that was hanging above the chalkboard and it was a minute to Four. Huh, an hour had passed. Time flies when you're having fun. I thought as I began to close the notebook I had and laid my black inked pen on top of it. My foot tapping the air as I waited for the seconds to pass and then did as the little hand strikes twelve Stiles gathered his things hastily, standing up and collecting his things.
"Sit," Harrison said calmly, not glancing from his papers, as I just sat.
"What, but it's been an hour," Stiles retorted.
"My detentions an hour and a half,"
"You can't do that," Stiles states, clearly annoyed, still standing as my hearing could tell. As looked up from his papers he took his gaze to Stiles.
"Oh, but I can... You see, Stiles, since your father was so judicious in his dealings with me, I've decided to make you my personal project for the rest of the semester. You are going to benefit from all the best that strict discipline has to offer..." Harrison states, making me smirk but it was kind of bad on Stiles's part. "Now, sit down, before I decide to keep you here all night," Stiles huffs before lowering himself down back onto his seat. I swirled on my chair to face him a smirk still on my face.
"Oh Stiles, what have I missed," I smiled at him sweetly, but something in his eyes didn't like that I was right in front of him and I shouldn't be.
"Miss Harper," Harrison states, making me swirl back on my chair to face him. "You may leave, I don't need you to stay," Harrison states as I just nodded to him and stood up collecting my notebook and my chemistry book. As I collected my things I turned to look at Stiles who looked up at me.
"See you later," I winked at him before walking out of the classroom, leaving him speechless. Though I left the classroom and put my books and that in my locker, I wondered if I could find Lydia as she was still out there in the woods and it was going to get cold tonight plus she's naked, so that's a huge concern. I only hope I get to her in time. Telling them would have to wait, for now.
.......................................
The night had gotten here fast as I walked through the woods, I could feel the chill in the air and the cold seeping into my skin already. I had visited Lydia's house and gotten in with her Mother's invitation, and I went up to her room and grabbed an item she would use. Her hairbrush would do. It had strands of her strawberry blonde hair laced within the tangles of the points. My feet crunch under the leaves and the twigs, as my eyes began to focus out onto the distance. Where the hell could she be! She's only mortal. I came to a halt, doing a full spin seeing no sign of her. I've tried tracking her with my vampire abilities but keep ending up in the wrong place. Time to let magic have a turn. I held Lydia's hairbrush in the middle of my palm, also in the line of my eye sight. I could feel my magic take place.
"Phasmatos, Tribum Nas Ex Veras, Ementas Asten Mihan Ega Petous," I chanted the incarnation, her hairbrush lifted from my palm and started to spin in a circle, at a fast speed like it was searching for her. I watched it for a few seconds as it began to slow down it found her and now it was directing me to her. It comes to a slow halt pointing North. But that leads me back to the main road, but it was worth a shot, magic never lies. I grabbed her hairbrush from mid-air and tramped through the woods, going back to the main road. I edged back to the main road, I saw flashing lights, meaning police and all sorts would be there.
But with luck, I see Lydia naked peering behind the tree looking towards the ambulance that was there. But, I also noticed Stiles there standing with his Father talking about something. I turned my gaze back to Lydia who had now moved further out in the open and now on the main road for someone to see her.
"Lydia! Lydia!" Stiles shouted towards her and just then, it looked like something clicked within her as she snapped out of a trance she was in.
"Well... is anyone gonna get me a coat?" She asked, flagging her arms around slightly, but still covering her breasts. I look to Stiles as he starts to pull his Dad's jacket off, but his eyes never left Lydia's position, and it ended up him tripping over his own two feet. I couldn't help but chuckle at his silliness.
At least Lydia was safe and looked physically alright, but she didn't give off a werewolf vibe, just didn't seem right. But I couldn't be sure...
