Chapter Twenty-Eight: Resurrection

I stood frozen on the spot, my body still shaken as well as my mind. Sweat poured from my forehead as the effects of something was burning off. It wasn't real, but the pain inside of me was. I turn slowly to be faced with the Hale house in the distance. The night was cool and quite, until my hearing picked up something in the distance, like something was being dragged.

I focused in more, and could hear two heart beats. "Lydia, stop," Derek's voice rang out, making me go on alert. Why was Lydia here? And what did she want with Derek. I pushed off my legs and went into vampire speed going straight for the house.

I arrived within seconds, seeing Lydia placing Derek's arm under the ripped up floorboard. I titled my head in confusion as Lydia looked at Derek. "You don't know what you're doing," he states weakly, barely having the strength to open his eyes, breathing heavily also.

Lydia look back to the mirror that was place out, moonlight shinning down upon it. I took a quick glance around the room and it was filled with mirrors but different type. Oh no... I had realised what Lydia was doing...

A resurrection ritual...

But before I could stop her she had lifted the mirror up right so the reflection from the moon would bounce around until it hit the hole in the middle of the house. And I had a wild guess who would be in it... Peter...

Suddenly, I could smell Derek's blood as he screams in pain, I wanted to move but I was stuck in place, like fear was holding me still. I could only watch as his screams died down. Moments passed and Lydia had moved her head forward as she was kneeling at the head of Derek, but she was looking down at the hole. Before wooden planks burst apart, and a dirty, naked Peter start to rise from the ground.

He slowly began to stand my eyes fixed on him. "I heard that there was a party," he said smugly as he rose his head to look at Lydia and Derek. "Don't worry. I invited myself," but before I could comprehend anymore, my mind went dizzy, the room start to spin, my eyes drooped closed. Legs began to wobble with unease.

Before I knew, I hit the ground like a sack of rocks...

............................................

Blackness, is what I see. Just pitch black like on a night, but without the moon, stars or lights. This was like death and it had welcomed me in like an old friend. Maybe this was my own hell, this is what I get when I do finally die. But not like this, this wasn't going to be my end.

"Wake up," a distorted voice rang out around me. I couldn't tell if it was a male or female but a deep feeling inside told me it was familiar.

Whispers began to echo in the dark, but nothing was clear, nothing was seen. I placed my hands over my ears to block the sound, but the whispers only grew and grew. Until, I couldn't bare it anymore. I screamed, as high as I could go.

Suddenly, I was jolted awake, my eyes flying open to stare at the burnt ceiling of the Hale house. I felt off, my head hurt, my stomach doing flips within. I blinked a few times, I moved my hand as a reflex, but I hit something. I turn my head slowly to the side to see Derek unconscious.

I was moved... But why?

I slowly brought the upper half of my body up, as I looked around, Peter had gone and so had Lydia. We've been all too focused on Jackson to try and bring him back, we had lost sight of what happened to Lydia and how it would effect her.

Out of nowhere, Deaton had entered the house. I was lost in thought and drained physically and mentally. "Alice, you alright?" He came over and knelt down to my level to make sure I was fine as he looked into my eyes like he was examining me.

"I-I'm fine," I mumbled as the effects of what just happened and what I saw in the woods were finally settling in. Deaton stood and held his hand out for me to grab, and so I did as he pulled me up. I stood on my feet, but wobbled slightly and he came to the side of me in a flash.

"Steady," he states as he held me up for a moment before I nodded to him, as I had gotten my balance back. His eyes went to Derek who laid there still unconscious.

"Derek...can you hear me?" Deaton states, as Derek began to move slightly but wasn't full awake. "I need you to answer me, Derek," Deaton still wasn't getting anything from him. "Derek! We don't have much time," Deaton had pulled free a dog whistle from around his neck, before blowing hard into it.

Suddenly, Derek's eyes shot open as he began to pant heavily. His eyes had focused on us for a moment as he began to move around, before sitting himself up. "That sound... what was it?" Derek had asked.

Deaton just held up the dog whistle and smiled at him. Derek looks at it for a moment and scoffs before standing to his feet. He quickly loose balance and falls backward but Deaton was on it once again and catched him, holding onto his forearms so he could balance himself out.

"You're gonna be weak for several hours," Deaton states as he removes his hands from Derek's forearms. Derek looks down as he raised his right arms to look at the dried blood and realising what had happened.

"It actually happened," Derek states disbelieving it.

"Don't worry," Deaton began as Derek shot his eyes to him. "You're still an alpha. But, as usual," Deaton began to put the dog whistle back around his neck. "Not a particularly competent one," I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as Derek's eyes finally shot to mine. His eyes searched my body, and I was filthy due to the dirt on this floor and being dragged across it as well.

"Where is he?" I pipped up, Deaton turned to look at me as Derek's eyes were still locked onto me.

"I wish I could tell you both," Deaton replied.

"How about you tell me what you're doing here," Derek began his eyes went to Deaton as he took a few steps forward. "And why you're helping me,"

Deaton stood there with his hands in his pockets, not caring that Derek force coming. "Helping your family actually used to be a pretty important part of my life... Helping you was a promise I made to your Mother," Derek had taken a few steps back.

"Your the one my sister talked about. She said you're a... kind of adviser," Derek states

"She was right and I have some advice that you both need to listen to very closely right now," Deaton eyes went to mine for a brief moment before looking back to Derek. "What Peter managed to do doesn't come without a price. As Alice can tell you," Deaton nodded to me like gesturing towards me.

"Yes, Peter will be physically weak for awhile, so he will rely on his strengths," I state as Derek eyes brush over mine for a moment.

"He's gonna come at you, Derek. He'll try to twist his way inside your head, preying on your insecurities. He'll tell you he's the only way you can stop Gerard. Do not trust him," Deaton states, his words at the end though was meaningful.

"I don't trust anyone," Derek replied, as he didn't but it was a wall he had built up around himself.

"I know," Deaton states. "If you did, you might be the Alpha you like to think you are. And unfortunately, the one person you should trust doesn't trust you at all,"

"Scott," Derek and I spoke in union.

"He's with Stilinksi right now. You need to find him, you need to find him as fast as you can both of you," Deaton states. "I've known Gerard for a long time. He always has a plan," Deaton took his gaze to the hole in the floor. "Something tells me..." His eyes went back to Derek. "It's going exactly the way he wants it to," Gerard was always a step ahead of us all. Derek and I looked at one another, meaning we had to work together to find Scott.

"Last I saw him was at Lydia's party, which surely be ended now," I state to Derek as Deaton began to leave us so we could figure a plan out.

"Can't you like wave your fingers and sense him," Derek states, waving his hand around.

"Bitch, I'm not a GPS," I replied to Derek with a raised eyebrow and sass in my voice. "Plus you need to change," my eyes scanned his body as his vest was ripped and stained.

"Fine, let's go," Derek states in a dry tone, as he walked forward to exit the house. I rolled my eyes at him as he passed, but I followed like a lost puppy. I must admit, his back was very sculpted and muscular. My eyes cheekily dropped down to stare at his ass, which was perky and round. I groaned mentally, but in a sexual way. Those jeans he had on did really make his ass stand out, and firm.

I groan mentally again with sexual frustration...
I need to get laid...

..............................................

After Derek had gotten a changed of clothing, we began to drive around in his car, wondering where Scott might go. I could try a locator spell, as I have a strong connection with him.

"I have an idea," I state to Derek as his eyes went to mine for a split second before they went back to the road. "I can do a locator spell to find Scott," my eyes never left Derek's face.

"Then do it," he replied quickly as he wanted to find Scott as soon as possible.

I took a deep breath and grabbed my rose quartz necklace from around my neck, holding the crystal. "Vitto Brosche," as I began the spell, my necklace began to glow a dim colour of what the colour of the quartz was. "Tarem Car Manifesto Fen," As I finished the spell, a single word popped into my head. 'Sheriff'. But I had no vision like the spell should have given me, but nothing seemed to happen and my necklace flickered like a light turning on and off, until after a moment the light was gone. I frowned in confusion. "This has never happened before," I was having performance issues. I took a deep breath and cleared my mind. "Vitto Brosche Tarem Car Manifesto Fen," I state more forceful, but this time around my necklace didn't glow.

"Do you need to recharge or something?" Derek asked, making a snide comment. I turn my head to face him, my face not impressed with that comment.

"I'm not a battery, Derek," I replied snottily to him, as I rubbed both my index fingers to the side of my temples. "Try to Police Station,"

"What? Do you even know if he's there?!" Derek quickly responded.

"It's worth a shot," I replied, before looking out of the passenger window as I wondered why my magic wasn't working correctly and that scared the shit out of me. Magic is all I have left of my family, and I don't want to lose it...
