Chapter Six: The Feel

I squinted my eyes as I tried to focus onto the dining room, but there was nothing in my sights. Suddenly, the door to the basement had opened and Allison stood against it as she closed it once again, panting slightly with what she had done to Scott. I stayed where I was, she began to walk in my direction, she shined the light out towards me, but as she came closer, the flash light started to flicker on and off. Before, it had turned fully off, she banged it on her hand a few times but it still didn't come on. She huffed as she began walking again, meeting me at the island counter, as she slams the flashlight down on top. She began to pant heavily, as her hands rested on the edge of the counter, her eyes closed.

"Hey, it's alright. You did the right thing," I spoke with encouragement, as my hand rested on her shoulder for support. But she still was breathing heavily, and my hearing began to pick up something else that was breathing, and Allison heard it too. She turned to me with fear on her face, before she put a hand over her mouth to stop breathing so heavily as she was scared. I also put a hand over my mouth, as I listened in further. Whatever it was, it sounded like it was hissing. We both turned to the sound of it, which was in the dining room. And that when we saw it, a shady figure but then it opened its eyes, which were glowing yellow. As it snarled at us both, that's when Allison screamed in fright, as we both back up. I came in front of Allison in a protective manner, as the creature bent down, I only knew it was doing this because of its eyes, they were slowly moving down. It was also like it was going to pounce at us while hissing like a snake. I hear Allison pull a knife from the side.

"Do something?!" Allison states to me, looking past me to the eyes.

"What do you want me to do, turn it into a frog?!" I state as I turn my gaze to her for a moment like that was a crazy plan to do. Just then, the basement door burst open and bits of it went flying everywhere, as Scott rolled in front of us and looked up to the creature at hand. The creature snarls and jumps upon the ceiling and starts to crawl on it, coming our way before stopping and looking at us upside down while it shrieks at us. We were all taken back by its appearance. It's skin was green and scaly like a reptilian, which went all over its body even the thick tail it had.

Before I could process anymore on how it looked it crawled across the ceiling before jumping to the floor and running out of the house, breaking the front door as it escaped. Allison and I went forward into the opening to stand behind Scott and look down the hallway to the front door.

"What the hell was that?" Allison asked, clearly not knowing what it was. Scott took a few seconds to think of what it was, but nor did he know what it was.

"I don't know," he finally replied to Allison's question. I wondered if I could find out what the creature was but I would need more time and more knowledge of the creature. I was glad that I was back helping my friends because they needed it...

................................

I stood in the School's gym the next day since what happened at Issac's house, I also heard from Stiles that Issac got away from the police station, problem hanging with Derek. Scott also told me that Derek turned Issac in the first place as he wants a pack for himself. I glanced up at the climbing wall, as Allison and Scott were on it, as they were racing to the top, but Allison had slowed down for Scott to catch up. They are a cute couple. However, Allison got the lead as she began to climb faster than Scott, but Scott cheated and used his powers to quickly race to the top. When Allison took a glance down to look at him he wasn't there, but at the side of her. He looked at her with a boyish grin while shrugging his shoulders slightly as his hands were on the wall. Allison wasn't impressed so, with the quickness of her foot to Scott's, he lost his footing and fell to the floor, but came to a halt as the harness he wore made him stop a few inches from the mat that was placed down. The student's laughed and giggled at the moment as I held a smile on my own face.

The coach walked towards the mat laughing at Scott, before sitting on it besides him. "McCall, I don't know why, but your pain gives me a special kind of joy," he states while chuckling to himself and he said something else but it was muffled with his chuckles. He stands back up facing the crowd of student's, I stand next to Lydia. "All right, next two... Stilinski, Erica, let's go. The wall," he announces to them.

They took their position at the bottom of the wall, ready to climb as they have their safety harness on. They began their climb as Stiles rushed ahead of Erica, who was having trouble. She lets out a grunt as she reaches for the next handle on the wall. A few moments passed and she made it half-way up the wall, but Stiles had reached the top and came down with a huge smile on his face. But I didn't focus on Stiles, my super hearing picked up whimpers from the wall, as everyone around was chatting among themselves. Erica began to lose control of sorts as she began to hyperventilate on the wall, freaking herself out.

"Oh, please..." Erica states through her whimpers and her cries. Everyone became silent as the coach walked onto the mat to look up to Erica as everyone else gathered around. I stood next to the coach as I looked up at her.

"Erica. Dizzy?" He asked her, as he knew that she had something wrong with her. "Is it vertigo?" He asked, but it was a stupid question to ask.

"Vertigo's a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear. She's just freaking out," Lydia had spoken up from the side of me, as Coach looked at her.

"Erica," The coach states, people around us began to laugh at her, but there was nothing to laugh about. She struggles with things and she's different from other people. So what. It doesn't give the rest of the class a pass just to make fun out of her.

"I'm fine," she states slowly, fear clear as day in her tone of voice.

"Coach, maybe it's not safe. You know she's epileptic," Allison spoke up from the side of Lydia looking at the coach as she told him. But by the look of Erica she wasn't going to have a seizure, she was just scared. Something within me felt sad for her, it wasn't her fault she was like this. I took a few steps forward to the bottom of the wall, and gripped onto the first high handle I could reach, before getting my footing on the bottom handle that my leg could reach. Before, I started to climb up the wall.

"Alice! Alice! You need a harness," the coach shouts, but I didn't pay attention to him. I carried on climbing the wall, going fast as anything and within seconds I was at the same level with Erica.

"Erica, you are ok," I spoke to her gently like a mother would do. She turned her head slowly to me, her bottom lip trembling with fear. "All you have to do is kick off from the wall, there are mat's to catch you," I gave her a sweet smile, and a slight nod, as she began to lean back, her hand still on one of the handles before she let go, and began to come down swiftly.

Before, I knew she was on the ground safely, taking the harness off. She began to walk away but people started to laugh at her and talk about her. I watch her leave the gym. I could feel her pain from here and I was still on this wall.

"Alice are you alright? Do you need one of the boys to come get you?" The coach had asked me, making me look down at him before rolling my eyes at him. I straightened up, placing my feet firmly on the wall and not on the handles. My hands gripped onto the handles though. I pushed off from both my feet, while letting go of the handles. I did a back-flip off the wall, and came straight down, my knees perfectly straight. Within moments, I stuck the landing perfectly, and turned to face the student and the coach, all of them wide wide eyes and gaped mouths, at what they just witnessed.

"I don't need no boys to come save me," I spoke with such sass, smirking at them, before walking away. I could feel all their eyes upon me like that just witnessed a murder or something. I was in the girls changing rooms as every girl who was in the gym class began to enter, only a few moments I had gotten in. All of them began to talk and whisper to one another, talking about Erica, some talking about me. I looked around the girl locker room, some giving me a quick glance.

Suddenly, a wave of emotions hit me from out of nowhere and no warning at all. I looked down to my hands as my head went dizzy, my hands were shaking like my muscles were twinging all at once. I blinked a few times as my body was shutting off, that's what it felt like. I fell back but luckily there was a bench to catch me.

Erica...

I thought to myself but my body didn't want to move at all. But the feeling started to subside, my hands slowly stopped shaking, my body began to move once again. I slowly stood, using the bench for support, my legs wobbled slightly but I can handle it. As I looked around some of the girls in the changing room had gone somewhere, and I followed with my hearing. I came into the gym entrance a moment later, to see Erica laid on the floor as she convulses. She was laid on her side, Scott was there holding her hand as I had a feeling that he also knew what was going to happen.

But deep inside, there was going to be something more to this all...
