Chapter Eleven: Warts and Wands

The next day had arrived and after what had happened with Derek and his pups, I felt in power, like I could do anything. In theory, I could do anything. I walked the hallways of Beacon-Hill High, and at the stairs that lead to another level was Stiles and Scott talking to one another.

"All right tell me about your boss," Stiles had stated, as I had approached them, both stopped what they were doing to turn their gaze to me.

"Hello boys," I spoke with a smirk on my face, Scott just gave me a smile, Stiles looked at me funny, his head tilting slightly.

"I don't see it," Stiles finally spoke after a few seconds of staring. "Where's the green skin, ugly complexion, broomstick, and pointy hat," Stiles asked as he just stared at me. I groaned as I rolled my eyes at him.

"You told him?" I directed my question to Scott who just looked at me with an sorry look. "Yes, It's true, I'm a Witch," I had now directed that question to Stiles who looked up at me as they both were sitting. His face sort of lit up like a phone.

"That... Is awesome!" Stiles stated with too much excitement in his voice. "Do you have a--" But before Stiles could finish I put my hand up to stop him.

"If you say wand, I'm going to make you mop the yellow-brick road... With your blood," I spoke with a dark tone, to match with my gaze. I see him swallow the lump in his throat, slightly scared to say another word to me.

"Back to your boss," Stiles states quickly, looking at Scott as he just sat there staring at us.

"Uh, he thinks that Allison's family keeps some kind of, uh, record of all the things that they've hunted. Like a book," Scott states, looking between Stiles and I.

"He probably means a bestiary," Stiles replied looking at Scott, who had no clue what he was on about.

"What?" Scott replied, looking terribly confused.

"A Bestiary," I said looking at Scott, but he began to smile and laugh at us.

"I think you mean bestiality," Scott replied with a smirk on his lips, as we stare at him. I don't want to think about what's inside his head.

"Nope, pretty sure we don't," Stiles states, looking at Scott with an unease expression.

"It's like an encyclopedia of mythical creatures," I said, my eyes gazing at Scott whose face fell.

"How am I the only one that doesn't seem to know anything about this stuff?" Scott states clearly annoyed about not knowing a lot about the supernatural world.

"Okay, you know, you're my best friend, you're a creature of the night, it's kind of like a priority of mine," Stiles explained with hand gestures to make his point across.

"Ok. If we can find it, and it can tell us what this thing is," Scott states looking at Stiles and I.

"And who," I said, as it was important to know who this creature was, and how to stop it.

"We need that book," both Stiles and Scott state in unison, looking at one another before looking at me. Staring me down like they have a plan forming in their head. They smiled at me sweetly, like they were about to ask me something,

"No," I spoke quickly, their smiles faded and both of them looked shocked.

"You don't even know what we were going to say," Stiles had replied, looking at me with an uncertain look.

"You were going to ask if I could use my magic to help you," I said, my eyebrow raised at them both, who's jaw's dropped ever so slightly like I read their minds or something wild like that. "And before you say anything else, no I didn't read your minds. You first need to understand what a 'Witch' is..." My voice was gentle, my expression calm. I sighed for a moment, my eyes moved from their gaze. "I'm not ugly, old, full of warts. I don't ride on a broom, I don't have a wand," my gaze had now came back to meet theirs. "I'm mortal and yes I might have came back, but at a great cost. You can't upset the balance of Nature and don't think there aren't any consequences that go with it," I smiled sadly at them, and they had noticed but I had walked away before they could say anything at all, letting them take in what I had given them.

However, it was the truth, they didn't know anything about being a Witch or what I have to do to keep the balance of nature on the right course. It was a burden that I must carry with me, but if it had to come down to keeping my magic or giving up Immortality. I would gladly give up my immortal life for a mortal one, to keep my family legacy alive...

..............................................

The day had passed and funny enough I had seen Stiles running back and forth to Allison and Scott, replaying their messages to one another, it made me chuckle seeing him out of breath. However, night had crept up on us all, the lacrosse game that was on tonight was going to be interesting, I just had a feeling. Allison did fill me in on the plan to find the Bestiary and it was a good one. So Allison had taken her grandfather to the game, and by the time I had reached the game, it had already begun. I see Stiles on the bench as he watches the game, while Scott was already on the field. I made my way to Stiles as the Coach had finished speaking to him.

"Stiles," I said softly, as he looked over his shoulder. "The game's afoot," he gave me a nod of his head before standing, but I had already left to go to Allison's grandfather's office in the school.

As I was out of view of everyone, I had used my vampire speed to enter the school quickly and to the office, within seconds. I stood by the office door as I was waiting for Stiles, but I know he's going to take a while. I looked at the knob of the door and the lock on it, I could feel my magic flow through me and suddenly I could hear the lock of the door click, meaning it was unlocked. I pushed open the door and slipped in, shutting the door behind. I began to shuffle around his room, pulling books and clearing things out of the way to search for the book, but there was no sign of it. I wandered over to his desk and started to pull out the drawer, my hand flying in searching through the paper and books that he had stored within, but there was nothing in. I slammed the drawer shut, placing my hands on the gazing around the room, wondering where else it would be. But I had no idea where it would be. I was like a needle in a haystack.

Just then, I heard keys jingle into the lock of the knob and I could hear a heartbeat, but as Stiles put the key into the knob, the door had pushed open a little, and Stiles pushed it open wider, before jumping slightly at the sight of me and lowly screamed 'Ah' at me. But it soon faded away as he just stared at me, his eyes glancing to the door then back to me.

"How did you--" Stiles began, but I cut him off by giving him a wink, and a wave of my fingers to gesture I did something magical.

"There's nothing here," I had said, going back on track as he came over to the desk and began to do what I had just done, his hand searching through the papers and books in the desk. Stiles only huffs, before standing up straight after shutting the drawer, grabbing his phone out of his two piece tracksuit to text Allison.

After Stiles had sent that text, we looked up at the same time, Stiles jumping in alarm to see Erica standing in the doorway, looking at us both. "Hello, Stiles," she states, sending him a smirk, with empowering confidence, but it soon fell as her eyes trailed over to me. I smirked at the loss of confidence just now, but quickly she regained it, like she wasn't going to let Stiles know that she was scared of me.

"Back for round two?" I asked sarcastically, with a smile on my face and out of the corner of my eye, I could see Stiles holding a confused expression. But Erica had an angry look to her, before she came forward and grabbed us both by the arms and started to drag us away, probably to Derek. But I didn't resist her. Stiles on the other hand, started to squirm under her touch.

We arrived a few moments later to the swimming pool area and Derek wandered along side the pool with a basketball in his right hand as his left had his claws already out.

"Ah, yeah," Stiles spoke, as Erica let go of us and went to stand next to Derek. I could feel Derek gaze upon me for a moment before it flicked to Stiles.

"Stiles, Alice," he greeted gently at us. "What did you see at the mechanic's garage?" Derek had asked his question to Stiles, but I was completely oblivious to what had happened to Stiles. I turned slightly to have Stiles in my view but also had Derek and Erica.

"Uh, several alarming epa violations that I'm seriously considering reporting," Stiles replied, making me roll my eyes at him, but I think he knew what he was doing, on his own... Special way.

Erica laughed slightly at him, but Derek didn't look pleased at all. He dug his fingers into the basketball and air began to seep out making the noise it does.

"Holy God," Stiles had said, as the air in the ball came to an end and Derek threw it to the ground in front of us.

"Let's try that again," Derek spoke calmly, but held an expression that would move anyone, especially Stiles. But I had a feeling that Stiles also saw the creature that Scott, Allison and I saw in Isaac's house. But we still had no clue on what the creature was and that pissed me off the most....
