Chapter 32: Gone (Part 2)

*Lauren's POV*

I woke up this morning happy, like actually happy. With Tobias getting married and his power being channeled into the coven Lizzie can finally get off my back about him.

After every meeting for weeks now she's been cornering me and interrogating me about Tobias's powers.

But once the union of Tobias and Naomi is complete she will get off my back.

" What a glorious day for a wedding." I smiled looking around at the snow.

" It's a little chilly." Tobias groaned.

" Tobias I'm so proud of you."

"What?" He gasped halting in his tracks.

I stopped as well and turned around to face him.

" I'm proud of you," I repeated," this wedding, you and Naomi uniting will help this coven. And that is why I am proud of you. You are putting your devotion for the coven over your feelings." I added, with a large smile on my face I rested my hands on his shoulders.

He smiled back at me, but it seemed fake.

" Thanks, mom." He mumbled.

" Now, let's get a move on we need to get you ready."

" We?" He asked.

Of course, he forgot the ceremony.

" Well yeah, Nathan will be helping you with getting ready." I explained.

His falcon squawked.

I wish I could understand them.

" I'm a big boy I can dress myself."

" That's not what he will be helping you with. Do you remember anything we told you yesterday?" I asked as I gripped my waist.

And just like that he looked remembered.

" Of course I remember. It's just the stress and all the emotions of today made me temporarily forget," I chuckled," Anyway let's get going, I need to get ready." He smiled.

He gently pushed past me and we set off.

As soon as we reached the temple I immediately rushed him off to his room to get him ready.

But even though we were in a rush I could just make out a few of the decorations Eva has already set up and I'm impressed.

It's pretty much like a normal wedding, with a large altar, chairs, an aisle, and some cloth hung around the pillars. However, instead of all the decorations being pretty colours they are all black it's the traditional witch wedding colours. The altar is the only thing that isn't black, it's a dark grey. It all looks incredible. Reminds me of my wedding day.

" Here is your room, I'll see you when the ceremony starts."

Turning on my heels I rushed off to the arena to meet with Eva.

" Hey, sis!" She squealed with excitement.

She is wearing her traditional short black and grey dress and black heels.

" Hi, you've done a great job." I smiled looking around at her amazing work.

" Thanks," she smiled," any way we need to get you ready." She clapped her hands then dragged me to her room.

Over half an hour later I was all dolled up. Instead of my normal black dress, I'm wearing a light grey and white dress that trails to the floor, like a princess dress but less poofy. My hair was tied up in a bun and I even agreed to have a little bit of make-up put on.

" Thanks, sis," I smiled at her through the mirror," We need to go the wedding is going to start soon and we need to make sure everything is ready."

We've been waiting for Tobias and  Naomi to arrive for what feels like forever. They are nearly half an hour late for the wedding.

" Where are they?" Lizzie yelled in frustration.

" I'm not sure." I replied.

Just then Nathan ran into the arena. He seemed disheveled like he had been asleep.

" Where were you?" Martha asked kissing his cheek.

" Tobias hit me over the head." He huffed.

" What?" I gasped.

" We were going to get started on the cleansing and then he just hit me. When I woke up he was gone and I have a massive headache."

" We need to find him and Naomi now." Lizzie commanded.

We all rushed around the temple frantically searching for the two lost witches. But we couldn't find them.

" Where else would they be?" Eva asked.

" I'm not sure," I sighed, then it hit me the girl from the village, and Veronica was sure that Naomi was seeing someone," Let's go to Hawthorn." I commanded.

" Why Hawthorn?" She asked.

" I have a hunch."

As we neared the village I could hear shouting and could see torches burning bright in the darkness of the night.

In the center of the village, all the people have gathered around a cart. On the cart stood the priest and a man, it is the father of the girl Tobias was talking to a while back.

" We will burn those witches !"  The man yelled. The crowd cheered raising their torches.

Eva and I chuckled at these puny mortals. They really think they can defeat us.

" Where is my son!" I yelled. The crowd got quiet and turned to look at me. Fear edged into their faces.

They became ever scared when Eva came out from her hiding spot, a fireball turning in her hand.

" Well don't make me ask again." I snarled.

" We don't know where your son is, now where is my daughter?" The man snarled at me.

" Why would I know where your daughter is." I scoffed.

" Because your son took her."

" He did no such...... wait what is your daughter's name ."

" Why is that important ."

"What is her name!" I yelled and just for some dramatic effect I used my magic to make the ground shake.

Everyone screamed and held onto each other.

" What is her name?" I growled.

" Ava O'Connor."

And that is when the realization hit. My cousin was right I am too late.

Seven years ago

I frantically paced back and forth waiting for Demi's arrival. She contacted me last night saying she had more information on the girl who will turn Tobias to the light and will destroy our coven. Finally, she arrived.

" What is her name?" I growled not wanting to waste any time.

" Ava." She immediately replied.

" Ava who?"

" I will not tell you that."

" Yes, you will." I threatened

" No, I will not, cousin some of my visions never come true you might not have to worry about this." She shrugged.

" Your vision showed the destruction of my coven because of this girl. I will take it seriously." I hissed.

" Alright cuz, but it might be this obsession that will lead to your coven's demise."

It appears I was too late to stop the girl but I can make it right. For the sake of my coven, I have to make it right.
